Indeed! Long ago (in a game/on a forum) whose name has long been forgotten in the flow of time, I was tasked with a challenge that we are all too familiar with:

Loool_d4eeaf_2427586.gif

After much deliberation and many painstaking hours of deep thought and bargaining, I was thusly entitled Pojodin!?

Rumor has it that's not my real name. O:

Is this in the wrong place? Or have I missed something? :)

I dont know if anyone has mentioned this, but I really dislike "angry" videogame personalities. Only one I like is AVGN because its 100% a joke.

Everyone else is just annoying. It just doesnt affect me. Too much outrage over something so meaningless.

Then again, I never scream or throw controllers or any of that. Never done anything like that in my life. I get annoyed at games, but never angry. It just doesnt register that way with me, so dudes like Angry Joe or Jim Sterling, or that really fat dude annoy me. Children.

I don't mind Jim. Not familiar with Angry Joe. If you mean the Franklin/Boogie creature. His angry persona pisses me right off.

Jim usually has something worthwhile to say and his and is normally controlled or focussed. Boogie/Franklin on the other hand is just a frothing ball of impotent rage that makes little sense to me.

That said, he's very popular so what do I know?

AVGN was the first one to do it, so he gets a pass from me, but I totally agree with you.  Jim Sterling is just a dancing monkey who parrots already popular opinions (DRM is bad u guise!) and Angry Joe goes way overboard with his rants.  I still like to watch Angry Joe's reviews because they're very detailed and informative, but there are times when I do wish he'd just calm his freaking tits.  I'm also okay with Boogie because the Francis videos are a joke that poke fun at the fat, whiny gamer stereotype for the sake of comedy.  You're not supposed to take them at face value.  Boogie himself is actually fairly calm and well-spoken.

Whoa-oh, he's the game dude and he's got a wall full of shitty games

He stares at them angrily and shakes his head like he has no choice in playing them, whoooah-oh

He spent probably half a day thinking up this theme song and composing it on his Apple computer, oh oh oh

He says fuck a whole lot because it means he's fucking edgy, oh yeah

And nitpicks every single insignificant last detail, usually with metaphors about bodily functions, yeah yeah yeah

He's the Angry Video Ga  Pissed Off Gamer Dude, yeeeeeeeeeeeeah!

Yeah, I'm definitely with you on that one. AVGN was cool because it was a clever idea that was unique and well-executed when he started. But I'm not a fan of any of the other angry gamers. It's funny when one person does it, but it gets old really fast when a bunch of others try to do the same thing.

I kinda want to start a video game YouTube show called "The Most Serene and Zen Video Game Dude" in which I talk about videogames like an NPR host on Xanax regardless of how I feel about what I'm saying.

ASMR Video Game Dude. *Hey, you look nice today, I'm going to whisper the step by step process of playing this game with exaggerated assonance and glopping.*

Re: The Mickey game, the Minnie Mouse second character thing actually looks like an interesting innovation.

I know you're joking but that sounds like a channel that could actually get a following.

Would likely need to swap dude with chick, but yeah, scarily viable.

Here's the original article.

No guidance is offered on where you’re supposed to go next, but the Uncharted veteran in me immediately shimmied a sign post and leapt through a hole in a nearby wall.

Graphics don’t make the game, and even if Uncharted 4 is the most beautiful thing ever to have happened in the history of video games, it’s not new.

Hilarious! You call yourself an Uncharted veteran? Bro, I know the exact scene you're talking about just from your description. What a blunder. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!

Love this quote too:

But graphics don’t make the game, and even if Uncharted 4 is the most beautiful thing ever to have happened in the history of video games, it’s not – it’s not new. This is a complaint that has been levelled a lot this generation, I think, that games are just shinier rather than more interesting, and Uncharted may be in for the same critique. Where the first Uncharted games felt like they were blowing the bar sky high, this one just felt like more of the same.

"If you think journalism is marketing, you probably need to brush up on your media literacy skills."

I work with some people in PR who would be very surprised to learn this...

Also... half a decade necro thread! Whoo!
