I too am not really digging this season. I think I'm on episode 7 or 8 and have lost the desire to keep watching. I'll probably force myself, just because it's Arrested Development, but a lot of the magic is gone... Also I can't get over how awful Lindsay's face is now.

Is it me or has Michael turned into a huge selfish jerk compared to the first three seasons?

He always came off as a little self-centred when he was being foolishly naive (as happens near the start of the fourth season) but the earlier episodes were always structured so you could see the 'good dad' side to him at the end of it (they highlight that 'heart of the show' thing with the film). Now, because of the way it had to be made, it is more caught up in repeating the same stuff over and over where you see him as kind of a dick.

What I found quite interesting by the end of it all was seeing

I think it's worth persevering with the show. As I said it's very unbalanced, because it starts very George Snr., Michael and Lindsay-focused, shifts over to a bit of Gob and Tobias with other things mixed in, then off to the more George Michael and Michael-based stuff so that by the end you've kind of forgotten about George Snr., Lucille and Lindsay. I think repeat viewing should be quite rewarding though.

Lindsay and Maeby did NOT age well, but at least Lindsay can looked better once she cut her hair.

This is the undeniable truth.

Maeby always looks pissed, and then she becomes always pissed.

EDIT: Oh, but I did finish the season last night, so a few things...

If you're like me and thought Community was EXTREMELY lackluster last season, I even stated I wouldn't care much about the renewal news, but good news: NBC, realizing Community is one of the few shows it still has with a following, decided to bring back Dan Harmon for the next season. I'm not about to say the quality will sky-rocket but shit this is the best news I've heard in a long time dealing with TV.

Edit: what hell happened to my comment?

Anyway, i wanted to say that this was like what i had wanted above with the scene they were all together, but done for the whole season?

And that the narration probably would not make much sense...

Okay, that was weird, when I clicked on this thread to come in here and say that I just finished watching Season 4 of Arrested Development you hadn't posted that yet.

Anyway, I really liked Season 4.  I think it definitely helped though that I'd heard how different it was from the main series run, so I wasn't shocked.  I'd kinda like to watch the chronological version that one guy made now though.

I enjoyed season 4, but in my opinion it was the weakest season.

I have been watching Orange is the new Black. Very well done show. It starts off a bit strange, but you get used to it and then its really funny. Worth watching if you already have Netflix, maybe you'll enjoy it maybe you wont. Its strange and uncomfortable, but my gf and I both enjoyed it.

I think the first half of Season 3 is the weakest overall (though Season 3 picks up in the second half).

*Edit* - I don't know why they keep bringing up the movie idea.  I mean, I can see how that might be easier to shoot around everyone's schedules, but I just don't feel like this show is suited to a movie format.

I've still not finished Season 4. I've seen the entire run of AD about 5 times, but i've hit a wall with Season 4. I enjoyed the first episode, but since then its totally missed the mark with me.

They seem more interested in making the story come together than they do being funny. And clearly not being able to get the cast in the same room is a problem.

If you enjoyed it, great; but i'm not sure if i even want this 5th season.

I've caught two episodes of the new Whose Line Is It Anyway?, and while the new series can be as funny as the 90's series, I'm getting this feeling there's this motive to be "edgy." You know, like trying to be culturally relevant again by recreating the highlights of the last series. Still, it can be funny and that's worth the occasional viewership.

Have you seen Jekyll? I strongly recommend it for anyone into Sherlock. It's essentially the spiritual predecessor of sherlock. Same creators, same mini-series format, same idea and method of taking victorian era story and plopping it into modern day setting.

The one with the guy from Cold Feet (totally forgot his name).

I'd always assumed (based on the DVD art) that it was a British take on Dexter. Was i wrong?

James Nesbitt, another of the Moffat lot to end up in The Hobbit. And no it's not a British Dexter (in so far of what I know of Dexter being about a good guy serial killer). It's literally a modern Jekyll & Hyde in the same vein as Sherlock has Sherlock all texting n Watson with a blog and such. It's 5-6 episodes long so easy enough to devour in a single day. In fact you could grab it now and finish watching by tonight.

edit: Huh, the EA Euro HQ was used as the bad guys base. I won't think too much on that one... :P
