I'll probably force myself, just because it's Arrested Development, but a lot of the magic is gone... Also I can't get over how awful Lindsay's face is now. I hope they do another season or at least a film. I think it's worth persevering with the show. As I said it's very unbalanced, because it starts very George Snr., Michael and Lindsay-focused, shifts over to a bit of Gob and Tobias with other things mixed in, then off to the more George Michael and Michael-based stuff so that by the end you've kind of forgotten about George Snr., Lucille and Lindsay. Strangelove Posted May 29, 2013 Report Share Posted May 29, 2013 (edited) Reveal hidden contents I think a lot of the shift in Micheal's attitude has to do with GM getting older and basically being an adult, while Micheal thinks of him more as a friend instead of a son. It was always that way, but now its shifted more into friend territory. I mean, theyre in direct competition over the same woman. Last time that happened, GM was a teenager and Micheal obviously did the right thing there. Now that theyre both adults, its a lot more vague as to what the right thing to do is.Im also surprised as to how three dimensional George Micheal has become. Hes not as one note or gullible as he used to be, all a part of growing up. He himself has also become more selfish and dickish. I think its all for the better. He became one of my favorite characters as soon as he punched Micheal at the end of the last episode. That just blatantly shows how all their relationships have changed. I think all the main characters have become better more fleshed out characters(Buster being a big example), though not necessarily better people. Reveal hidden contents Yeah, so on Maeby. You'd think she wouldn't have been that idiotic to keep repeating high school for five years and just went on with her life. Maybe proving her existence in some other way rather than being some 20-something in high school. Though to be honest, I'm kinda curious about her story now that she became a sex offender. Honestly, to keep this short, Gob's "conclusion" to me feels similar to the previous seasons. Second favorite would be George Michael's episodes. I'm not a fan of how abrupt Michael and GM's story closed. All it did was prove to me that Michael has become an asswipe this season. I'm not sure how I feel about Michael as that kind of character. He was always the sensible, if not "normal," Bluth of the family who took on the impossible task of keeping the family together. George Sr has lost almost all his testosterone, so we're left with a conclusion that he's chosen to be a woman mid-part of the season. Lucille seemed to make a break through, but she might have also murdered Lucille 2. Lindsey, well, her story ended fine. It's just that it's like George Sr.'s where nothing else is mentioned in the second half (other than Maeby being her pimp) and is up for grabs in either a movie or another season. Tobias is hilarious, but I almost began to stop caring about his character because we're exclusively seeing him for 30 minutes where he's making all these terrible decisions. It's a bit concentrated, so I found myself a bit annoyed. However, it seems that he did come to the conclusion that (finally) his acting dream is ludicrous. Same for Buster episode. A whole episode dedicated to him was a bit too much from what we were use to in the old series. It was still a bit funny, but it was still 30 minutes of "motherboy" and his search for a new mother. Waldorf and Statler Posted June 2, 2013 Report Share Posted June 2, 2013 If you're like me and thought Community was EXTREMELY lackluster last season, I even stated I wouldn't care much about the renewal news, but good news: NBC, realizing Community is one of the few shows it still has with a following, decided to bring back Dan Harmon for the next season. If you thought S3 was weak you don't even want to think about S4. The best episode of it was the one with Crank Yanker-looking puppets. Anyway, I really liked Season 4. I think it definitely helped though that I'd heard how different it was from the main series run, so I wasn't shocked. madbassman39 Posted July 26, 2013 Report Share Posted July 26, 2013 I enjoyed season 4, but in my opinion it was the weakest season. I have been watching Orange is the new Black. Very well done show. It starts off a bit strange, but you get used to it and then its really funny. Worth watching if you already have Netflix, maybe you'll enjoy it maybe you wont. I mean, I can see how that might be easier to shoot around everyone's schedules, but I just don't feel like this show is suited to a movie format. danielpholt Posted July 27, 2013 Report Share Posted July 27, 2013 I've still not finished Season 4. I've seen the entire run of AD about 5 times, but i've hit a wall with Season 4. I enjoyed the first episode, but since then its totally missed the mark with me. They seem more interested in making the story come together than they do being funny. And clearly not being able to get the cast in the same room is a problem. If you enjoyed it, great; but i'm not sure if i even want this 5th season. You know, like trying to be culturally relevant again by recreating the highlights of the last series. And no it's not a British Dexter (in so far of what I know of Dexter being about a good guy serial killer). It's literally a modern Jekyll & Hyde in the same vein as Sherlock has Sherlock all texting n Watson with a blog and such. It's 5-6 episodes long so easy enough to devour in a single day. In fact you could grab it now and finish watching by tonight. edit: Huh, the EA Euro HQ was used as the bad guys base. I won't think too much on that one...
