Chewblaha
Current: -Scrubs (the best hands down) -Friends -Hellsing Wouldn't these three be under Ye Olde since they are no longer airing? Also. Major bonus points for putting Friends. It's the show so many hide their fandom for. Most particularly, 1:18 Anyway. Seinfeld. That 70's Show. Friends. Whose Line is it Anyway? Malcom in the Middle. Chuck. The Cosby Show. Everybody Loves Raymond. Entourage (When it was a comedy). Now: Here are three of my favorite television moments. Note: I could not find the episode of Everybody Loves Raymond where Robert finds out that Ally put her Crayon's in Marie's cannister. Best. Scene. Ever. The entire episode with Kramer wearing the Hot Clothes was hilarious. More specifically from this clip, from the beginning of the clip to 2:56 http://www.youtube.c...h?v=ibTCL5EvBDU And this one: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=JfaCcM1g5wQ Edited June 16, 2012 by Chewblaha
D-K
Ye olde shows I no longer watch, I still (re)watch Friends' episodes on occasion though. Chandler still cracks me up, comic genius.
Hot Heart
Wouldn't these three be under Ye Olde since they are no longer airing? If he's putting Scrubs as the best, he's clearly stuck at something like season two or three... Also. Major bonus points for putting Friends. It's the show so many hide their fandom for. Friends is good. Or was good. For the most part, it actually paid attention to the 'sit' part of sitcom quite well and was only bad when it relied too much on character quirks and quick gags. Not that everyone should love it, but it could be 'appreciated' at least.
D-K
First 3 seasons were the best, obviously, 4 and 5 were passable, pretty much downhill from there. Regardless, I appreciate scrubs for: -Interplay between characters, the relationships are believable. -Deep Characterization -Consistant, though bordering on caricature, personalities -Live action FG styled cutaway gags -Fresh jokes, fresh setting -Fun Cameos and guest stars -Amazing soundtrack choices. Seriously. -Good lighting -Great lol-per-episode ratio -Subtle jap Anime and Videogame references -I relate to dr. Cox
Mister Jack
There's this show on right now called Auction Kings. I only watched it because I like Antiques Roadshow, but this is actually kinda interesting. It's like antiques roadshow, but it also is about running an auction house. People bring in their items and say how much they want, then the items are appraised by an expert and put on auction.
c hoertjes
No offense, I hate those shows, and Pawn Stars and American Pickers. I don't care about other peoples' worthless crap.
P4: Gritty Reboot
P4 used Resurrect on the TV thread! It's super effective! Yeah so I couldn't find a more recent general TV discussion thread. As good a place as any I suppose. Been watching Supernatural's seventh season and finding it just as uneven as the last few. I still watch it because the wife enjoys it, and I really like the two main characters and their actors. However, I will say episodes 5-8, which finally got back to some good old-fashioned monster hunting, were some of the best in years. I love the in-universe Supernatural comic self-referential stuff ("Supernatural is not very popular.") Also, started re-watching HBO's Band of Brothers on DVD. Dat production value... I did get choked up when the Dutch boy has chocolate for the first time. The show does glorify the Allied side and demonize/dehumanize the enemy much of the time though. It rarely shows Nazi faces; they always have their helmets pulled down and close-ups will just go to their uniforms. Oh well, good series with some great actors (enjoyed seeing a younger Professor X in episode 4).
TheRevanchist
I like to watch Primal Grill on the PBS stations. Nothing better than a big fucking pile of meat cooked the way it's supposed to be. Sure, he looks like a person stuck in the 70's (maybe he is), but he knows a thing or two about international flavors of grilling and BBQ. Side note: And really knows his wines, which he doesn't really talk about on his show.

Eleven
Ooooh me me! Favorite Shows: Lost - (IMO Best Show ever. Also IMO has the Best TV episode of any TV Show in "The Constant".) Arrested Development. - I have watched this show like 7 times already and its still funny! Doctor Who. - My favorite that is still airing. Mad Men - I just love the '60s in this show. Degrassi. - I don't care what you say! This show is addicting. I also like shows about school in general. Scrubs. Band of Brothers (does this count?) Other shows I like/liked watching: Chuck Game of Thrones The Tudors Rome The Borgias (notice a pattern?) Burn Notice Person of Interest Bones 24 Haven Sherlock Revenge The Vampire Diaries (IMO the first season was really good) Heroes (the first season was so good it deserves to be in my list even though the rest kinda sucked) And I would take a page from earlier commenter's posts... These are the things I would like to watch because apparently they are good. Dexter - I tried watching it before, but gave up. I do not remember why. Breaking Bad. Boardwalk Empire
TCP
I can't believe I forgot Doctor Who!! If I had to do a list of shows no long on the air..... Lost Buffy Angel Firefly
Chewblaha
Firefly was fun to watch, but I think I got overwhelmed by the internets talking about like it was the second coming. I looked back at that list and some updates: The Big Bang Theory was funny until midway season three. Now it's just...redundant. Weeds went way downhill after season three. Then it crashed through the ground after season five.
Hot Heart
Do we have a favourite scenes from TV thread? I seem to recall one for films. Anyway, I'm going to share some here. The Wire http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sNZ7ulO1RQ When you know The Wire is going to be a classic. Chuck The moment when Chuck discovers that, after four years, his flash-face does not resemble a smouldering look. Game of Thrones http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pj97yhCOmk "Watching is not seeing, dead girl." You've got to love Syrio Forel, and the scene does a nice job in conveying the sort of rapid maturity needed of Arya. Mister Jack
Favorite shows thread, eh? Sup playa? If we put that aside, I also enjoy Breaking Bad, Avatar (Both Aang and Korra flavored), 30 Rock, Burn Notice, Walking Dead...Actually, I don't watch as many tv shows as I used to. When I do it's rarely on the actual tv itself. I've been thinking about trying Doctor Who, but I have a hard time motivating myself to binge on long-running shows from the very beginning.
Strangelove
It's strange that out of all the witty and intelligent jokes in this series, I pick possibly the stupidest one. But this is probably the most I ever laughed when watching AD.
Hot Heart
Always cracks me up. Of course, with a lot of AD, you need to have seen earlier scenes to get a lot of the pay-offs.
danielpholt
Arrested Development is imho one of the best comedies of the last decade. Its just a shame that it didn't get mainstream success, but i guess that's how it works. I've been watching a lot of Breaking Bad recently. My brother finally lent me seasons 1-2 so i've watched them inside 3 weeks (with a SHERLOCK re-watch in the middle). Jesse is my favourite character. He's much more relatable than Walter, but i think thats deliberate. I mean, who can really relate to a guy like Walter. So any Sherlock/BB fans? Nexus
I like Sherlock, and I've got Breaking Bad on my "To-watch" list.

You've just ruined my morning Ser. Just started Misfits this morning. Really enjoying the first two episodes. Antonia Thomas is mighty might fine. Little Pirate
Well, not including cartoons or anime, my favorite shows right now are probably the following: Breaking Bad, My Name is Earl, 30 Rock... Arrested Development is getting one more season and a movie so I'm all kinds of excited for that. I watch a lot of random stuff on the history and the discovery channel, too. Eleven
Only if you have Netflix. Or a pirate. Arr! Oops! i guess you are. Sherlock! I forgot to list that... I just googled Antonia Thomas and got a completely different result and I was like "Woah... what!?". Turns out i had typed "Antonio" instead.
