That's what I meant by Raid armor being at the last progression point. It's the only armor with Light scaling to provide Lv. 30. You'll only make it to Lv. 29 with Legendary and whatever piece of Exotic.

Anyway, I don't want to repeat myself on what I've said before on the game, but Destiny seems to cement itself as the "awesome, but..." game of the year. Not only will you have to rent it to see if it will compliment your taste and tolerance in games, but as it changes it will either improve or frustrate what you like and hate about the game. For me, I'm glad a majority of the changes are providing a solution to problems. At the same time, Destiny will still have grinding as a staple of it's post-game routine. At least they'll provide more options to getting the rare materials needed for upgrades.

I actually had a coworker today say he was thinking of selling the game, which ironically he was the one praising the game the most two weeks ago. The one time he praised the story was after the cutscene at the Reef, the one moment everyone thought the story was picking up. He basically went over everything that is commonly agreed to be at fault in the game, so really I didn't make an effort to persuade him either way. I like, for the most part, how the game plays, but at the same time the Tower is super empty and you are replaying the same areas over again with modifiers.

I at least let him know that Bungie is currently patching and reworking the game, especially in regards to materials and loot. He didn't care for PvP, favoring something like CoD instead. Personally, even with the balance issues with PvP, I still come back to it for Control and Clash play modes. Afterwards, I guess I gave him hope that in time, while he plays other games, that there will be more of a game then what's currently available.

I've hit something of a wall in regards to levelling up my Legendary armour. Ascended Shards.. Currently I need like 20 of them. I'd rather not make a second character (fuck that I wanna play as my guy). I know about the daily challenges, but surely there's a more efficient way of getting that stuff.

Titan Punch is literally the only thing I regret missing by being a Warlock. Except perhaps Hunter daggers. My bud LST4R who I play with frequently storms around saying 'I am kickpuncher' whilst smacking things in the face.

Is there any actual level cap? I recall the number 40 being bandied about, which seems kinda fair.

Gradually levelling up Sunsinger. It's soooo good. Love that your abilities and super mean you get to lob loads of grenades and punch things and set everything on fire.

Also at 24 now and just grabbed the vanguard chestpiece. 1 more strange coin until I can grab a helmet off Xur too. Then we gotta get some of us together to do some of the heroics and stuff!

Just so you guys remember, only Legendary Engrams after the patch takes effect will always give you Legendary. If you thought you'd save any Legendary Engrams for next week, they'll turn into Rare status. So if you were afraid of getting Rare items, you're going to get Rare items anyway.

I actually got two Legendary cloaks today, but one is for Dead Orbit when I already bought the cloak for New Monarchy after I get up to Crucible Rank 3. The next one was the Starwinder cloak you can buy with Crucible Marks at Rank 2. I don't particularly care for the design, but it's different from the majority of cloaks I've found.

And sorry I didn't join you Ethan. I had just finished a few frustrating bounties and right now, like Strange said some time ago, the Exotic Weapon Bounty I have now wants me to kill Guardians in PvP with Void Damage weapons. Oh, but if you die it takes away 2 points away from the 5 points you get for killing a Guardian. You need 500 points to finish it and after two matches I'm left at 35 points.

It's even worse if you're playing a Hunter, trust me.  Not having a subclass with Void sucks especially in this instance.

I've got a story for you guys.

I've been craving an Exotic Handcannon. I finally got the 500 Guardian kills with Void Damage completed for an Exotic Bounty (which some of you know of). It took me an extra match given that I couldn't put the final kill in the previous one, which was highly frustrating. I was a nervous wreck with my Legendary Sniper Rifle, one of the Queen's Wrath exclusives. Two people escaped my range before the second shot (one hit if headshot). A rather clumsy Titan was my final kill and then I could go back to not using a Fusion Rifle. I felt so cheap using it, but also the charge time mechanic started getting on my nerves when people got their shots in before.

I went to the Speaker, gave him one of my 28 Motes of Light, then talked to the Vanguard Warlock. The final step is to complete an enhanced version of the Moon Strike. It said there was matchmaking, but I ended up alone. I gave up because there were Arc shields and none of my weapons aside from my grenade and Super could do Arc damage. I ended up repeating another Queen Bounty in my effort to get to Rank 2 for the cool cloak.

A Fallen Vandal dropped a Legendary Engram, and as I'm sure most are aware, gotta use them while you can because they'll end up as Rare after the patch. Before claiming the bounty, I did my usual routine of going to the Cryptarch first. Hey, maybe I'll have another Legendary weapon for my character, right? Ah, such low expectations he gives us, yet in our lowest points we are subject to great change. As my head was lowered to face what seemed the usual outcome, a shine of golden light appeared to the right of my screen.

So time for the grind to level 30. Man, I really need better weapons and armor so that I won't get raped in level 24+ strikes and such... like, Winter's Run Strike. It's a tough one especially if you have an incoherent team.

I;m not sure if I'm going to try to do the Queen's stuff since I don't think I can commit too much time after today (The real grad school starts soon...). The above was pretty much all this weekend. I got home around midnight and well, grinded till morning. Today I actually went till noon...

So to use my time wisely, from what I recall, I should level up my Vanguard or whatever levels so I can purchase the good stuff?

Edit: I also need a better handcannon in my life. A scout rifle has the range but it is missing the omph of the handcannon.

The queen missions are way less time consuming than grinding for vanguard rep, and you're guaranteed a piece of legendary armor at the end of it for at least four or five times in a row.  There is of course a likely chance of you getting the same thing several times, but even I managed to get a helmet and a chestplate.

My first piece of advice would be to consider levelling up Sunsinger on the side (good idea is to have it set when you turn in bounties and decrypt stuff).

Your best bet is to keep looking at bounties and spending a great deal of time in the strike playlists alongside just doing some patrols.

If you can double-up on your bounties then all the better. For example, if you have to kill a load of Fallen then consider doing patrols on Earth or the Moon (using sunsinger while you do) or hope you get some relevant strikes. For the moment it'll be a lot of killing and hoping for good drops.

Quit the raid last night at the last boss. Half of our team kept dying no matter what they were assigned to do and/or running out of ammo. I'm level 29, there were two level 28s and the rest were 27 and 26.

Honestly, those lower level dudes just weren't very good. Not to mention they had shittty equipment. I on the other hand hardly ever died and I never ran out of ammo. I felt like I was wasting my time.
