The drop rates in PvP are insane (well, relatively, to what I'm doing now). I got 2 Legendary weapons (scout rifle and a shotgun! woot!) in 15 games, and 2 better blue armors (+24/26 light) than the one from engrams, plus around 4 motes of light. And it's not that bad, win or lose you get at least 4 marks you can spend on an armor piece, I already have enough to buy 1 now. Way faster than grinding Vanguard points. I should have attempted this way before. Now I know how to gear my Titan who is sitting at level 11. I find I do well on Clashes than Skirmishes, probably being carried by 5 guys is better than being carried by 3 :P

I also got my first Exotic Weapon Bounty! Choice of Thorn, Bad Juju, or Invective. Leaning towards the shotgun, as I use shotguns a lot (I play with friends so I know someone will revive me in the likely event that I die!). Heard a lot about Thorn, but I hate hand cannons + the requirements are brutal. But I don't know yet. My weapons are fine for now.

Shit, is it worth actually playing PvP now?

I actually really enjoyed the game's PvP when I played it, moreso than the campaign in many ways. Would be sorta interested in jumping back in.

I think I've gotten all I can get from PVP now, lol. There's a small chance of strange coin to drop, but I've been getting legendary weapons left and right. I now have 4 auto rifles, 2 hand cannons, 2 scout rifles, 2 pulse rifles, a shotgun, 2 fusion rifles, 2 sniper rifles. All from playing Clash/Skirmishes/Control matches, all 331 damage weapons.

Not to mention blue armors that drop with 26 light (you can only get 16 light from PvE). If you're gearing up your character, PvP is so worth it. If you're at level 32 already (Vanguard or Crucible armor), it's easier to get coins from the weekly strike i think.

I need advice. Next week I'm going to be able to get my three guys up to 34 (assuming Taniks has the right armor pieces for sale) and start running the level 34 PoE for Etheric Light. Obviously with all Taniks gear my build is going to be jacked, so should I focus first on ascending my more balanced Vanguard armor or ascending my weapons? About half of my legendary weapons are still just 300 damage, with the others being up to 331.

I can't recall exactly what Variks will be selling (Taniks is the Strike dude). I think it goes gloves, chest, helmet, boots so next week should be... chestpiece, I assume.

Hard to tell what you should do, really. I had to ascend some armour pieces (boots) on my guys for the extra heavy ammo perk to get to level 34, but I'm still a ways off a proper balanced build (because everything is strength for warlocks!). If you can get to 34 without needing to ascend armour, you could probably focus on weapons.

As long as you're 34 and have a decent exotic, you should be okay. It's being level 34 that matters more than the perks, so then you'll want some weapons that go above 340 damage (knock the last digit off a weapon's damage and it'll tell you what level enemies it works up against). The upcoming 34 boss should be Urrox, who's relatively easy if you've got a decent scout rifle and sniper rifle. It was a real struggle when we first did it because one of my friends is pretty hopeless as a hunter and never got used to avoiding the teleport anti-cheese thing (still hasn't, and sometimes it's a little overzealous) but we did it, effectively, with two 33s (friend was dead most of the time and quit out to rejoin only to find he couldn't).

Ideally, you want the elemental primaries from the raids, otherwise if you just want 365 primaries, use your first weapon core (from doing 34) and armor core (from 32) to try Judgment's Chance and hope for the scout rifle or something. Wouldn't recommend it though. I think nearly all the new weapons suuuuuck.

My first ascended legendary was Vision of Confluence because that guns wrecks. Then for anything else, there's the Crota scout rifle Fang of Ir Yut (although, Fatebringer is supposed to be better, I just never got it). That way you have a solar and arc primary, which takes care of most things. Then I've been focusing on shotguns, because Qodron's coming up and his containment shields are a pain.

I've upgraded Khepri's Sting. It's really cool, but it's not that much of a game changer for PvP. I mean, it allows a Bladedancer to free up a perk and gives Gunslingers invisibility. The one shot kill seems more at home for 3v3 or Rumble where it's less likely for someone to instantly see a blue ghost crawling around.

Haven't watched much about the new content captured at E3, but a favorite subscription of mine has put it together nicely.

Looks like I was part right with my theory that the Taken were Fallen that had been captured or corrupted or something.

*Edit - I'm guessing the stuff with the weapons that they're saying they aren't ready to talk about yet has something to do with how the video Atomsk88 posted shows the weapons having Light values.

Everyone had already figured that. And I posted that video last week. :P

Had a good run on Vault of Glass last night. I got Fatebringer, finally. One friend got Gjallahorn, finally. And the other got Vision of Confluence... finally! Also crazy that you can down Atheon in two runs now.

I also got the Mythoclast (but already had it so whatevs!) and the explodey sparrow (which I'l probs never use now I have the stunt one). Would be cool to get a bunch of us doing it sometime.

No one posting the absolutely disastrous interview they had regarding the fact the expansion is almost as much as the original game?

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-06-22-destiny-the-taken-king-director-defends-40-expansion-price-tag

Like there's a guy that did not have a proper PR briefing before being let loose. Or maybe he did and that briefing was horrible. Or brutally honest but didn't end with "obviously don't say these things to the game playing public. hahhah oh god I don't think he heard that part."

Yeah, I think he wasn't properly briefed on the UK price structure and was just trying to muddle through.

*Edit - Oh, that article has been updated, and Deej (the community manager) has already stepped in to start damage control.

That was a terible fucking interview. The dude came out looking like a total asshole.

What's worse is that theres actually people out there that didnt see anything wrong with it and just chalk it up to him being "honest" and "sarcastic". That he's a game developer and has nothing to do with pricing.

If he's that useless, he shouldnt have done the interview. Easy as that.

I know everybody says otherwise, but I'm pretty sure Legendary engrams are biased to the class opening it. I saved 3 legendary engrams (2 chest, 1 gauntlet) for my Titan, I got them on my Warlock (or Hunter, but either way), opened them up and got all Titan gear.

Only once have I gotten another class' armor. I got Titan boots on my warlock once, and that was it. All the other legendary engrams I got was for the class opening it. Even my exotics were for the class opening it. Even the rewards from factions (although I can see that one actually being for the class you have, it's supposed to be a reward for the guardian after all).

I mean, if it were truly random and I had a 33% chance, there is a greater chance to actually get another class' items. But that hasn't been the case.

Anyhoo, I just reached 20 on my Titan and now he's 28 due to that. I just need a helm and he's good to go (after leveling up his class skills, lot's of work). He's just there to run the daily and weeklies anyway. I need those coins.

I get other class items all the time, especially on exotics, but I agree that there is some kind of bias in favor of the class opening it. To me it seems like I get other class items ~50% of the time, when if it were random you would expect 67%.
