And lo, Strangelove was back on the wheel. :P

So, everyone's impressions thus far?

I'm really liking it. The story missions have a little more context and involvement, even if it is a lot of going through the same areas. More Nathan Fillion is always good, and they've given Ghost some decent lines.

And the new enemies really shake things up. I just soloed a "Hard" rated mission (I still have crap armour right now and only two "good" weapons, so level 40 majors are still considered tough) that comes after the main questline and that was a lot of fun. It went into a bit more of the lore with the Vault of Glass, plus I got a real "Halo on Heroic difficulty" vibe.

Right now, it's a little annoying with how Legendary Marks aren't as easily gained, but I imagine just like with the base game, you gather a sort of momentum and then you'll be able to get your hands on lots of cool stuff.

I'm enjoying it. I'm only a few hours in, maybe 3-4 hours total, and I've only really done the first 3 quests. I'm doing bounties and the gunsmith tests as well, so there's a lot keeping me busy. Not to mention, having to manage equipment again. I'm currently wielding green armor, except for the chest piece, which is a legendary level 40 with some solar protection, I think it's from New Monarchy, but I haven't unlocked the perks yet.

I got to 40 quickly with saved public event packages. I decided to get to 40 at once so I could skip some item management, as it overwhelms me whenever I get back to the Tower and check the new gear I found. Now at least I can scrap most of them, and the greens I've been getting now are level 38-39.

My Nightstalker class isn't fully leveled though, and I plan on unlocking it slowly so I could force myself to get a feel for the different skills.

I got Monte Carlo from the guaranteed exotic engram. So that's really cool. It's fully leveled (Attack 170), and so far I could still use it effectively. I'm thinking once enemies get to level 32-34 I'm gonna notice it getting weaker, but so far, it does the same damage as a level 38 white auto-rifle (from Banshee) with the same impact stat.

I don't have Legendary Marks yet. But I'm going to save up 150 of them and buy the Year 2 version of the Monte Carlo. I'm really excited for that.

Edit: Oh and also, Mayhem is awesome.

And Nolanbot is growing on me.

I'm back in. Fuck.

Currently sitting at 286 light with my warlock.

I suggest people do all the reef quests as soon as you can to get a really good exotic scout rifle. It's not as time consuming or difficult as some of the other quests and they're also soloable.

I also advice people to use the legendary marks to get a shell from your vanguard or the crucible guy. That should be the first thing you get, even if it is boring.

Eventually you'll find high level weapons, armor and class items, but ghost shells that high in light are more rare. It'll be a while before you replace that one.

And another tip - your light level dictates what light level your engrams turn into. So equip all your highest level stuff before you go to the cryptarch.

Screw the Jolly Holiday quest. Closest I got was 41% without knowing the points system. After a few more matches, I'm barely above 0%. All that progress gone because I'm not getting killer killstreaks and Heavy Ammo each match.

EDIT: Stupid auto-correct.

Okay, TTK fucking rocks, Bungie definitely took to heart the criticism from Year One. I love how much content there is, every time I think I'm finishing a quest line it unlocks something else. And I especially love that the Court of Oryx is public so you don't even have to get a group together, you can just do it with whatever randos happen to be in the area.

My alt's been getting hand me downs to wear or to infuse, now she's sitting at 260 light with minimal effort. She also got lucky, now having a legendary chest piece (from a blue engram), legendary boots (from a faction reward). Xur sold a nice Stormcaller exotic gloves as well. So yeah, lucked out with that one.

Not that I need to play an alt. I'm just trying to get as much Legendary Marks for now so I ended up running her to do those quests. But my main can pretty much handle everything else. Sitting at 270+ light now.

Oh and I finally got 150 marks to buy Monte Carlo's year 2 version. It's the best gun ever! I can go with a full discipline/intellect build,, and still get virtually unlimited smoke bombs. It's like having your cake, and then throwing it on your friend's face because you know you have unlimited cake anyway and you can eat it whenever you want.

Out of the new strikes, I think my favorite is the Echo Chamber strike. Is this the PS exclusive strike?. I love the mechanics for the boss fight in this one. I guess you could call it "basketball". That's probably how a fast break feels like.

I haven't played the mind-flayer reworked strike yet, not sure how that's gonna change.

I need to stop Infusing every little bit of weapons and armor and keep gathering Legendary Marks for Exotic Upgrades. Truth be told, Strange Coins come rather easily, so Xur's first week of TTK was pretty much seeing what upgraded exotic helmet you could get.

I got Mask of the Third Man for my Hunter and Obsidian Mind for my Warlock. Excellent pieces, but I too want my improved Monte Carlo. At one point I had a second when Prison of Elder's first came out, but I was like, "Who needs two of this autorifle when all autorifles are gimped!" Now everyone is raving about it because it's excellent perk, which it always had since its first patch, is matched with good stopping power.

I'm loving TTK, now I've had some more time with it, and I've barely explored the dreadnaught. Feels like a proper fleshed out Destiny experience in every way now. All the weapons in PvE feel good to use and there's some real potential for customisation.

The only problem is I'm starting to get stressed out by all the things I "need" (want) to do. It bombards you with quests and stuff, but in a good way. I've been hoarding weapons and armour for infusing lower level legendaries but then I keep getting more and more legendaries that I like the look of. Yesterday evening, I got three Choleric Dragon rocket launchers, two legendary auto rifles and a legendary pulse rifle all in one evening; not to mention the two exotics I got thanks to those "Three of coins" (got two exotics after about 9-10 coins, which seems average).

... but at the same time, I've got to dismantle rare or higher fusion rifles for the gunsmith quest, so I can get the class-specific weapons. Then on Wednesday, I'll have a couple of new weapon orders arrive. Argh!

How the fuck are you getting all these legendaries? I have 4 legendary weapons, two of which came from quest rewards rather than random drops, and an exotic weapon that was also a quest reward.

How do you get this quest? Why don't I have it?! I've actually run out of quests I can do atm other than the nightfall and raid quests, which obviously require getting a group together.

One thing I wish they would have changed about infusing is that I wish instead of only increasing the gear's light level it would also increase its other stats an equivalent amount.  There have been some pieces of equipment I've really liked the look of, and sure I could infuse them to bring the light level up, but that doesn't change the fact that their stats (or maybe it does? I've seen conflicting information on that).

I got the quest from getting rank 2 with the gunsmith, I think. Problem now is that he hasn't got any more weapons I can/care to test for more rep.

As for legendaries, I've gotten lucky with a few blue engrams but a lot has come from rep with vanguard, cryptarch, crucible and my faction. I used 100+ motes to up two levels with Dead Orbit. Plus, a few from the heroic strikes.
