TheMightyEthan
Here are more or less the same two pictures with the default ship. I guess it's not so much that the new one looks better than the default as that it looks different. I didn't like it when I was playing with other people and we had three identical ships flying around together.
SomTervo
They said the alpha was extended indefinitely, then within one day closed it. Im waiting for internet in a new flat. I missed the whole thing D:
deanb
Hey Ethan I found something for you to spend some money on.
TheMightyEthan
I kind of want to upgrade to the $100 one, bit if I do I'll lose my free shipping (my Prime expired since I ordered it).
Vecha
I just got finished arguing with a fanboy that said, "The xbox fan base is upset that Bungie has done this to them. The beta deal with Sony is a slap to the face...the xbox fanbase built their house."Guy/girl has to either have the IQ of a pig, or a teenager. Ok..maybe a arrested developed 20-something-er. TheMightyEthan
Yeah, Xbox gamers be pissed about the extra beta time for PlayStation gamers. It's silly, but at the same time I can understand some feeling of betrayal by Bungie.
Mister Jack
The DLC for Destiny will also apparently be a timed exclusive for a whole year on Sony platforms.
TheMightyEthan
That's not for all DLC, just the exclusive PlayStation bonus content. I'm sure it'll be small stuff, along the lines of the "60 minutes of exclusive gameplay!" Ubisoft games always have on PlayStation.
TheMightyEthan
They may have taken out the "That wizard came from the moon!" line, and added a robo-filter, but Dinklage's acting is still terrible in this game:
Mister Jack
Does Dinklage just not care for voice acting or something? I mean, I think we all know that he is a phenomenal actor when he wants to be.
Vecha
He may just not be used to it...probably can't connect? I've read that VO work can be a whole other ballpark. But...what do you guys think of the rest of the game? I'm really enjoying it myself!
TheMightyEthan
I'm really enjoying it as well. I was kind of miffed though that you have to play through the story missions in order to unlock the multiplayer, I wanted to do like I did in the alpha and avoid the story missions because I wanted to experience those fresh at launch.
TCP
Never played a Bungie game before, but this Destiny is pretty good, I did the opening mission was impressed, and held off for the actual release, no point in playing some of this stuff twice. Vecha
Yes, It feels so much like Halo(I'm not the biggest Halo fan, but I enjoy them). I knida wanted the big HALO COLLECTION! but now I feel a bit better knowing Destiny is multiplat.I too was a little surprised about the MP being separate. I guess they want everyone to be immersed? But, why not just have it be known where to go in the middle of the game? What's weird about MP...is being placed up against those with higher level..and guessing armor rates, doesn't that kind of make a small disadvantage? Not sure if they sync the levels or get rid of the armor? hmmm
TheMightyEthan
I wasn't surprised about the MP being separate, I was just irritated that in the beta there was no way to skip the story parts, since I don't want that spoiled at all. And yeah, they sync levels, so while you still have your personal gear it does control for level's effect on stats.
deanb
I told Peter Dinkelage you thought his VO sucked (Penelope, worth a watch. Eclectic cast, weird as hell plot)
Mister Jack
Well I played Destiny for the first time tonight. I'll be honest, I didn't buy into the hype for a long time. I was sure the game would be decent and I even figured I'd play it some point, but I wasn't chomping at the bit for it like everyone else seemed to be. Now I am, though. I can't wait for the full version to come out.
staySICK
That was my exact response to the alpha. I should try for a beta code
TheMightyEthan
I've got an extra Beta code, Sony e-mailed it to me last night. Want it?
Vecha
Yeah I wasn't "hyped"...but I was hoping it was gooooood and it is.

Vecha
I wish it was possible to chat/use voice chat at the Tower. Or at the very least, a way to target another dude/dudette and invite them to your fireteam. I know you can do that through the xbox/ps4 UI, but it'd be nice to have in game.Unless that's already a feature?
TheMightyEthan
I think there's a way to do it if you target them and bring up the little info menu thing. The button for me is L1, but I'm not using the default control scheme (maybe it's R1 by default?). *Edit* - You can also invite friends from within the pause menu, or when in orbit by pressing . Vecha
Ah...knew I was missing something. Also can find a system volume option. Couldn't hear a friend on headphones as the damn game volume was too high...
TheMightyEthan
Do your headphones not allow you to adjust game and chat volume separately?
