Toonami

I posted a status update about the announcement, but not much of a reaction.

There is a strong nostalgia factor, and there will definitely be viewers, but personally I counteracted the lack of Toonami by getting most of the shows on DVD. About the only show I would need Toonami for is Gundam Wing and G Gundam.

I have Outlaw Star ($35 still for the entire collection), Tenchi Muyo (a hard endeavor, but I did it), and I could get Trigun, but there's Netflix.

Dragon Ball Z is a show I would only talk about, not necessarily want to re-watch every episode again. I had my fill of Sailor Moon and ReBoot nostalgia with Toonami Aftermath. I may be missing a few, and if Adult Swim includes Cowboy Bebop, I've got that on DVD too. Still, a show like Tenchi Muyo isn't in the hands of a lot of people so that will draw in a crowd. I mean, it really doesn't appear to me that the Blu-rays are coming overseas this year or the next because of the Geneon Japan crap going on.

EDIT: Though, there is TOM. He was what made Toonami very special, and to this day I remember voting on the new engines for the ship through the telephone. The engines I thought were coolest happened to get the most votes and it made me feel like I was part of the segment.

However, even before Toonami was officially "discontinued," years prior it had already died within. I was able to tolerate the new TOM and his robot crew long enough until Toonami became the Naruto n' One Piece Variety Hour Special.

Read the article for more information like why the lineup is the way it is. Currently, they have very little money to work with. Personally, I think people will like Deadman Wonderland. I read some of the manga a while back and it was pretty damn awesome. I have no idea how the anime went. Casshern Sins, I have very little idea of. I heard of it for sure. The rest are oldies but goodies.

Strangelove, while I get that way of thinking but its nice to have Toonami back. I do like to have the TV on while browsing the net and Toonami is right up my alley. Channel surfing is such an lost art...

I've had that video on my Favorites list for a looooong time. It's hard to believe today that television programming could ever create artistic mash ups like Broken Promise and the few others that aired during Toonami's prime.

If anything, I've been meaning to watch Casshern Sins, even with it on Netflix, and I could take a chance on Deadman Wonderland. I mean, I will give it a chance, and I'm glad that they'll be looking for new material, though I just realized that they could air Tenchi Universe and I would 100% watch every time.

Seriously, try obtaining the entirety of Universe. The Complete Collection is hard to find (price + condition) and the other option is you'd have to collect about a dozen DVD volumes.
