Thursday Next
The BBC are running a campaign surveying 3G connections in the UK. To take part you can download the app here: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.epitiro.uk3g
Chewblaha
I'm no android guy, but my dad does have one. He has the amazon app that allows you to get a new game for free everyday. Kinda like sales and all that. Just in case any of you were interested.
deanb
https://play.google.com/store/apps/collection/promotion_2012_03_06_AppsFavorites?feature=banner Bunch of Android apps for sale at 49p a pop. Mainly games. Mainly apps that don't run on my phone. Anyone able to vouch for SwiftKey?
Faiblesse Des Sens
SwiftKey has always been my favorite keyboard. It'll predict your NEXT word, not just your current one. Once it learns how you type it's very efficient. Just make sure to tweak the options until the behavior suits you.
deanb
I mentioned this in the BAVGA article but for those that don't read PXOD: It seems pretty neat. I'd like to have a shot at it. Oh and it's free. http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/the-nightjar/id431598741?mt=
TheRevanchist
I downloaded one for free today (free on iPhone today) called Glorious Quest. I booted it up to see what the game would be, and the music already sounds fun. The gameplay looks rather slow, but what else could I expect for free? http://www.ign.com/videos/2012/05/08/glorious-quest-iphone-trailer There is also another free one today called Tiny ARPG. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6mToxlK30o I didn't pick this one up, but I have a hard time passing up free. I'll be picking back up Mirror's Edge on the iPhone this weekend, too. I can't recall if I liked it on this platform.
TheFlyingGerbil
Create automated tasks for your android phone. Even though it's made by Microsoft it's not on WP7 :/ The link is to an article about it, but it is available on the marketplace as a beta. deanb
I've being playing Andor's Trail, pretty nifty little RPG. Also Pokemon Trading Card Game on an emulator.
fuchikoma
I found a neat cross platform VOIP app called "Voxer" - you keep a friend list like any other IM client, but rather than opening a constant 2-way connection, you "push to talk" like some older cell phones. So it has the simplicity and speed of voice, but the asynchronicity of text messages. Seems pretty cool and apparently it's growing fast in some demographics but I haven't convinced anyone to try it yet... A few caveats: Their staff may see some messages, like XBL or PSN, and by default you share your location and can be found by name search (whatever you choose to tell them) which can lead to chats from random strangers. Both of these can be turned off easily though, so you'll only be found by email address. They also ask to see your address book to match you to other users in your contacts, but that's easily refused too.
Faiblesse Des Sens
^There's a few apps that do that. HeyTell and TiKL being others.
fuchikoma
Yeah, it's not a unique product. I read some comparisons and went with it over HeyTell, which I read was ad-supported. It looks similar to TiKL, just a bit more polished and it seems to be making lots of buzz lately.
deanb
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.dsandler.apps.markers New doodling app from a Googler. Very nice n kid friendly. Both in having no adverts(can cause issues when they click on em) and all the options by clicking the icon in the corner, nice n simple to change pen n such. Luftwaffles
Tested's app/game roundup raved about Oscura, a 2D platformer that looks to be along the likes of Limbo. I'm not a big platformer fan, but I was considering trying it because it's only 2 bucks and seems to control well.
deanb
https://play.google....icproject.scout This looks interesting, but I can't say much more beyond that because it's not supported in my country. No click is required. If you have a headset or bluetooth connected, it can even read the info to you.Field Trip can help you learn about everything from local history to the latest and best places to shop, eat, and have fun. I'm going to assume it's not supported yet in England due to the massive battery drain.

Mister Jack
There's supposed to be an HD remake of the Phoenix Wright trilogy coming out sometime soon...but Capcom hasn't put a date on it aside from "fall." I wants it bad.
TheFlyingGerbil
I'll believe that when I can get my grubby mitts on it. I think I've given up hope of them appearing.
Mister Jack
Well it already exists in japan...They just gotta translate the damn thing.
TheFlyingGerbil
The amount of games that never make it past the shores of Japan would inspire me to learn Japanese if I wasn't so lazy. I wish I didn't even know about this because as it stands it just puts me off getting the DS version as I assume the mobile versions will be cheaper, and I know DS games can look pretty dreadful upscaled on my 3DS XL. Mister Jack
I would be very surprised if it doesn't make it to the US app store, especially since Capcom already said it was coming. I mean, we got Phoenix into Marvel vs. Capcom 3 for fuck's sake. In Japan the trilogy equates to about 14.99 in US dollars, but that's not an official price. And hey, at least Phoenix is getting a new 3DS game.
