deanb
As Ethan said it's closer to Lifeline/gamebook than the RPGs on PC. And afaik it's a prequel anyway, so story wise you wouldn't be missing much. The app company has a similar gameplay app out that's a standalone story if an established franchise is putting you off. deanb
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.limelight So this is pretty neat, makes your phone Nvidia Gamestream compatible (aka pretends it's a Shield device). Let's you play your PC games on your phone if you've got Geforce Experience set up. Kinda requires that you have a controller (I've a Moga, but you can hook up DS3/DS4/n maybe Xbox stuff) but I imagine some mouse only games are fine. deanb
http://www.androidpolice.com/2017/03/16/hands-googles-family-link-surprisingly-polished-experience/ Seems pretty cool for family members. I know that for most parents I know that controlling the kids and what they're doing on their phone is not exactly a practicality. I like that this forces the kids to ask for permissions to install apps from the parents in a fairly seemless fashion too. Though I do agree that locking out Youtube seems a weird, YT kids is a little bit toooo kid friendly imo (though once again with grown up YT you get a lot of stuff kids shouldn't really watch such as minecraft lets plays with anti-semites). Only super big issue is it's Nougat phones only, which most kids I know get hand-me-down phones so gonna be a few versions behind.

danielpholt
BBTAN Been playing an awful lot of this since Friday. I'd recommend playing with the sound turned on as it's got some lovely sound effects.
TheFlyingGerbil
I'm having more fun playing Magikarp Jump than I expected though I was genuinely traumatised the first time a pigeotto made off with my little pal.
danielpholt
I'm having more fun playing Magikarp Jump than I expected though I was genuinely traumatised the first time a pigeotto made off with my little pal. I downloaded that and ditched it after it took me (what felt like) ten minutes before the game actually let me play it. deanb
The Nintendo games I've played so far have terrible beginnings especially with having you agree to t&cs and eulas then sign into Nintendo account, then, and only a maybe then, you can play the game. Mister Jack
That Animal Crossing mobile game is out now. Connection quality is hit or miss, obviously, but it's not as bad as Pokemon Go was. I haven't been able to play it long enough to form an opinion on it yet, though. I was busy all day. TheFlyingGerbil
I'm enjoying it so far. Except the connection issues, obviously. Makes me wonder if they'll ever get around to a switch animal crossing though, because it's more like a "proper" animal crossing game than I originally expected when it was announced. Mal
It's a short game but it is feature complete with no microtransactions. It's cute and all that to boot. One thing I like is that the controller does not get in the way of the gameplay.

Mister Jack
Got a couple of good ones. Maybe you already know about them since they're popular but they're also not on the app store so maybe not. You want a youtube app that will keep playing audio after you shut off your phone screen or go back to your home screen? Youtube Vanced. It also cuts out the ads as a bonus. It's like getting everything you get from Youtube Premium for free except for the terrible premium shows that nobody likes anyway. Want a good manga reader? Tachiyomi. It's the only thing I've found that lets me read series such as One Piece, Beastars, or Berserk. All the official apps in the Play Store only connect you to webcomic crap. Edit: This one is a Windows app but it's a huge help. Do you have a bunch of empty folders on your PC but you don't want to go through them all one at a time to get rid of them? Use Treesize. It analyzes any directory you choose and lets you mass delete empty folders if you wish. It's saved me a ton of time.
