I never used to see the appeal of podcasts, but this one changed all that. I now have an insatiable lust and while it seems like every gaming website has a podcast, I haven't a clue where to even begin looking outside that topic.

So, does anyone have any podcasts they'd recommend to the rest of us?

I'm allowed to listen to my music whilst at work, so i usually take that chance to listen to podcasts instead. I'll not bore you with non gaming ones, so below are my favourite game related ones.

- Gamers With Jobs

- Giantbomb

- Weekend Confirmed (this one goes on at exactly 5am every monday morning. The idea being that the end of the show coincides with the ending of my shift, and my week at work.

- Cheap Ass Gamer (This is more entertaining that informing. Definitely worth a listen though.)

  • Weekend Confirmed: Informal games industry news and chat, hosted by Garnett Lee. He's done similar shows going back, like 1UP Yours and Listen Up. This is the only one I catch regularly - other podcasts are an episode here and there if they're interesting, or I'm way behind on them but catching up.
  • PixelJunk Radio: Already come and gone, this series is an informal hangout-cast with the people at PixelJunk. I've only heard the first few.
  • The Sound Test: Inactive for a couple years now, this show features various video game music. Great stuff, and if your player supports it, the shows are split into chapters for each song.
  • NPR: Intelligence Squared: "Oxford-style" debates on various issues.
  • TED Talks (video): A must-see for people who are interested in stuff.
  • Stephen Fry's PODGRAMS: Dude, it's a Stephen Fry podcast. If that appeals to you, you probably know who he is already.
  • IT Conversations: IT Industry issues from various speakers and events
  • The Age of Persuasion: A Canadian series examining different techniques and areas of marketing.
  • This American Life: An interesting documentary/editorial show on random issues. Sometimes it takes on some pretty interesting issues, though you have to keep an eye on it because they charge money if you want to download older episodes (you can still read transcripts and listen for free in a browser.)
  • Zencast: If you want to get Buddhism, the talks here lay it out clearly from a Zen or Vipassana perspective without riddles, especially the talks by Gil Fronsdal, who seems to do most of them.

There are a bunch more I only catch once in a while like Mobcast (Bitmob), Orange Lounge Radio, Skeptoid, Dr. Kiki's Science Hour, X-Play's Video Podcast, The Partially Examined Life, etc. but mostly I just have them on my feed list, so I didn't bother linking them.
