Violence in Video Games

I'm with Heart and W&S; the introduction segment to Human Revolution heavily implied that you needed to shoot all incoming enemies. After all, you're in charge of security (holding a weapon no less) in a facility being swarmed by violent extremists. Nah, I'll just lurk behind boxes and desks the entire time.

 

I remember discussions about the no kill achievement/trophy and if the introduction counted. Even veterans of Deus Ex thought it odd that such a scenario counted toward a stealth based campaign when those opening minutes were the exact opposite. Not to mention that not killing anyone in the beginning is highly impractical and tedious. It's as though, well, it was designed to teach you about the game as a shooter.
