@TheMightyEthan it was from the 4th of December, it was about 43%. I'm now on about 53% and maybe 1 or 1.5 chapters further along. I couldn't go back that far but I did think about it. I'd only been saving manually when I thought I was coming up to some sort of decision but I guess they never made much difference but the saving is a bit clunky. I don't know why it doesn't just keep the last 2 or 3 autosaves or at least when you die give the option to start from last autosave or carry on. I'm sure I've had games that do that before now.

@Baconrath I really REALLY hate the gacha system, even if it doesn't use real money, and I say this as someone who already got several rare blades from it.  If it weren't for that and the fact you have to have certain blades in your party to use field skills, the game would be a 9/10 for me instead of an 8/10.

@TheFlyingGerbil Ah, yeah, that's rough. I would recommend saving at least once after each mission, and just rolling through all your save slots. That way you are likely to only lose one mission's worth of progress if you have to go back.

You should give the DLC prequel a try then. For about 20-30 hours, it get rid of those bullshit which makes it a very pleasant experience.

I'm intrigued enough by the xenoblade games to buy them but keep hearing enough things about them to never actually want to give them a go.

My lack of saves looks stupid when I look back at it now but previously I've spoiled game flow by saving too often and then never going back to those saves anyway so I thought I'd try to save less so I guess I need to strike a balance.

I am seriously kicking myself for not getting Rainbow Six Siege earlier. I had heard that it was great and I thought it looked really fun but I'm always hesitant when it comes to MP-only games. Turns out it's pretty much the perfect MP game for me: slow and methodical, no running around and no need for twitch reflexes. The correct way to play is to find a good spot to camp, cover a narrow angle with your crosshair and shoot anything that walks into it. I've only been playing for a few days and I'm already able to make a difference in matches and win rounds. I still screw up but it's always clear where I went wrong and I learn from every death. This might actually become the first competitive MP game to keep me hooked.

I decided to go with Assassin's Creed Odyssey after finishing RDR2, and goddamn playing these two back to back really makes AC look rough around the edges. The horse riding animation is what really gets me. After spending 60 hours staring at a beautifully animated cowboy riding a horse with realistic motion physics, AC looks like this:

Human walking animations are the same way. It doesn't really detract from the game, but it makes it feel less immersive, which is something I'm not used to with AAA games in general, and AC in particular.

Damn you Rockstar for raising the bar so high!

Trying to be responsible by going through my backlog instead of, say, going closer and closer to 250 hours of EDF 5 that I WILL be doing all over again if and when it comes to PC.

So first off is Okami HD. I have been working through this for a while. It is good but it shows its age in mechanics and visually it can be pretty, its assets can look really blurry. This is the reason why I am still working on this.

Other games on my radar is Atelier Sophie, Zwei: The Arges Adventure, DMC HD Collection, Yakuza 0, Ys: Memories of Celceta and Tokyo Xanadu. THEN AND ONLY THEN I WILL MOVE ON TO Dragon Quest XI.

I have no idea how I am going to get to replaying Trails, Cold Steel and getting to the Crossbell games (Prepping for CS3)... not to mention the previous Kingdom Hearts games (KH3, finishing the fight, sir).

Nothing much. I had a week off recently in which I spent the vast majority of my free time playing through Vanilla Destiny 2 and its first bit of DLC. However (and I'm not sure if its the game or me that's changed), I'm sort of okay not returning to it for a while. I'll likely play through Warmind (?) and Forsaken at some point in the coming months, but I think I've tired myself out for now.

Away from that I've been trying to get back into Battle Royale with Blackout mode and PUBG. PUBG is like a drug that I just can't kick. I see its flaws, I moan, I come back anyway. Whats wrong with me?

I'm still working my way through Assassin's Creed Odyssey. I'm enjoying it, but I'm trying to basically just play through the main story and I keep running into a situation where I'm underleveled for the next story mission, so then I have to go find random side missions to level up more. I'm considering dropping the difficulty, but it's not actually that the game is too hard per se, just that I'm not leveling fast enough to keep up with the story missions.

I also started Octopath Traveler a few days ago, and I'm enjoying that as well. I've only collected two characters (counting my starter) so I'm not very far into it, but so far so good.

I decided to play Transistor after Okami. It is one of my backlogs that I wanted to get to and since i have so many Japanese games, I figured that I give an American/Western dev a spin. Took a bit to get how it all works but damn, it is pretty good. So far, I'd say it's more interesting than Bastion but we'll see how this all pans out. Both game oozes style with great soundtracks but, while solid, I wasn't ever completely sold on Bastion gameplay.

So, I put a few hours into RE2 and man, this is how you remake a video game. I was initially disappointed that they went with over-the-shoulder because I guess I assumed it would mean a return to a more action-oriented style but so far that's really not been the case. I thought a remake like the first game's was the best way to go. Basically, I wanted the original RE2 but with a modern coat of paint to "future-proof" it. I'm glad to admit I was way off on that one. What Capcom actually made ended up being far more interesting, I think. To the point where now I kinda want them to remake the original in this style (after the RE3 remake that's rumored to have already entered development), so that we can have the entire original trilogy like this.

It might not be first-person but it has more in common with RE7 than the original. It's basically RE2 through the lens of RE7, if that makes any sense. It seemed only superficially similar at first because of some aesthetic and mechanical similarities (upgradable inventory, UI elements, etc) but then I ran into Mr. X and suddenly it was pretty clear. I initially wrote more in a spoiler tag but ended up deleting it. All I'll say for now is that my first impression of him is that he seems to behave in a way very similar to Jack from RE7 but (so far) without the obvious limits that made Jack less intimidating over time. He looks kinda goofy with his Inspector Gadget hat, though:

(just a screenshot of him in the tag)

Ys: Memories of Celceta is pretty fun. I've been alternating between it and Xenoblade 2 grinding.

I also booted up Battletech the first time since the dlc released and since they changed some of the pilot abilities they reset and refunded all the skill points and now I cant remember how I had my team of Mary Sue walking tank pilots set up before. ;_;

Hitman 2

I just finished the tutorial (which is the same tutorial from Hitman 1, but I replayed it to refresh myself) and am 100% totally stoked to get into the game itself.

Shoutout to @Mr. GOH! for getting it for me!

I'm at the point in RDR 2 where I've completed the epilogue and wondering how much longer to do other stuff such as legendary animals etc as now the story is over the niggles seem that much more pronounced and I hate that the experience in open world games just sort of peters out.

I'm a bit into pokemon lets go too and am in the city just after going through the caves? The problem with games where you select a party is I have no idea which I should have in there and always feel like I'm wasting levelling up on party members I won''t need. plus I assume I'm just bad at it but capturing the pokemon seems completely random, and I still haven't worked out if you can actually aim your throw when things are moving around. I'll get through the game but I'm not sure pokemon is the franchise for me which is a shame because I really feel like I'm this close to loving it but just bounce off it for some reason.

@TheFlyingGerbil I quit RDR 2 as soon as the epilogue ended, but by that point I'd been ready for the game to end for about 20 hours, so...

As far as Let's Go, play it in handheld mode, it's SO much easier to catch Pokemon that way. When you're playing with the joycon it's possible to aim but it's much less reliable/precise. Also, you don't need to worry too much about your party, just keep Pokemon with you so you have most of the types covered as far as doing bonus damage and you'll be fine.

I've been playing a bunch of The Division lately, but might have burnt myself out on it. I'd played the beta ages back n was intrigued but not enough to pick it up. and iirc when it launched it had a bunch of issues, which I'm guessing they've mostly fixed.

Not entirely sure what's been dragging me to it apart from I guess being able to switch my mind off while playing. The mission levels are all over the place, maybe it's just that I super suck but I feel if I'm level 15 I shouldn't be struggling with a lvl 12 mission. Likely down to lower levelled weapons but it can be a pain to pay to get new weapons each level, especially with the huge disparity between cost/value/damage on the different rarities. Going off the raw stats a lvl 5 blue had done me better than any greys or green up to lvl 11.

It's also a total PITA to go from a safe house to a mission and have to have all the firefights, especially when they're not the mission you're heading towards. And the spacing between safehouses is a pain and also some are locked out but it doesn't really let you know why or why not, so if I do trek to a safe house figuring it's closer for fast travel to some of your missions you'll sometimes find you're locked out. Then get shot n revived at your last safe house 3km away. Fun.

Wait yeah I think I talked myself out of continuing this game. I think I need something more like Far Cry (for one it has cars in it, which'd be nice in Division I think. Like even basic motorbikes or something).

Currently figuring something else 'light' to play. I feel I probably should bite the bullet and finish off Persona 5 before I forget how to play and what the story was :P (I'm on the boat, and I feel that's like minutes from the ending).

RDR 2 was my first rockstar game, and I guess I had too high expectations but the only thing I found better than other games I've played was the graphics.

I've been wanting to play it on the TV and find it bonkers you can't use the pro controller. Ive never really got into handhheld mode I guess I should take advantage especially as pokemon would suit it better than many games.

Honestly, once you learn the Inverted Song of Time the clock in Majora's Mask is barely even an issue anymore, at least in terms of running out of time. At worst you might forget to deposit your rupees in the bank before rewinding.

To elaborate, three days in normal in-game time is about 54 real world minutes. With the Song of Inverted Time that gets extended to about three hours. There are also certain locations like the Lost Woods where time stops completely.
