Strangelove
A Valkyria Chronicles port of 1, 2 or 3 would be amazing on the Vita. It doesnt have a lot of fans, but the ones it does have are hardcore about it. From what I remember, people were mad that 2 was on the PSP not because it was on a portable, but because it was ugly compared to the first one. On the Vita it wouldnt be a problem. Luftwaffles
SSX on the PS3. My lady bought it for me on Saturday so I'm playing it on and off at the minute. It's really great. Possibly one of my favorite games so far this year.
MetalCaveman
Playing Valkyria Chronicles, it takes a while to give you full command a bit. And there's an awful lot of cutscenes, they look pretty so I don't mind too much. Oh apart from having to manually advance the "episodes" every couple of minutes, but at least it makes saving painless. Personally I'd prefer a long continuous cutscene until a battle, give a chance to then save, level up, grind, etc, then move on to the battle when you're ready. Some units feel a bit useless which is annoying. Also isn't there meant to be an element of fantasy or does that come in later? It comes in later in the game. On topic, I've been playing Lollipop Chainsaw, fun game but the combat could be improved a bit, also, I would have loved to see the boss fights separated from the standard chapter, as it is, it feels like the chapters drag on for too long which is not good if you want to replay to improve your score. I was mad that it was on the PSP because I didn't have a PSP. Now it's not listed as compatible with Vita, and supposedly you can put it on the Vita if you buy it on the PS3 and transfer it, but I'm not inclined to test and end up with a wasted purchase if it doesn't work. Strangelove
Yeah, its supposed to work. A lot of people have said it does, so I think its pretty safe. Its also about 25 bucks with all the dlc. Yet by itself its 40. Yeah...
TCP
That's one of those game that you'd think would be next up to move to the Vita store. Not that it matters, I haven't heard of a PSP game not being able to transfer PS3->Vita.
Strangelove
Mod nation racers doesn't transfer. And honestly, I think they randomly pick which ones to make compatible. There's quite a few good ones that don't work.
TheMightyEthan
Modnation Racers makes sense because there's an actual Vita one and they want you to buy that one instead.
Strangelove
Yeah I thought that was the reason too, but LBP for the PSP works just fine and there's an LBP Vita version coming out in a few months. Plus, Modnation is a mess on both versions. Ugly graphics, long load times, and no online. Edited June 18, 2012 by Strangelove
TheMightyEthan
No online? Wtf? Even Mario Kart on the 3DS has online, and Nintendo is retarded when it comes to the internet.
Strangelove
Yeah. ANY kind of racing game needs online. Honestly, its rough around the edges(crappy as hell) because they probably pushed it out quickly for the Vita launch. People who have it seem to like it though. It plays well, just does a bunch of shit wrong. I think SONY have pushed away the franchise so LBP Karting can replace it. They probably dont care about Modnation's quality anymore. We probably wont see a sequel either. Especially if LBP Karting turns out to be critically acclaimed like theyre hoping.
Faiblesse Des Sens
What? ModNation Racers has online on PS3. That game was fun as fuck and looked great (but simple), too.

Faiblesse Des Sens
Oh, by both versions, did you mean both portable versions? I wasn't aware it was even out on Vita.
TCP
FDS, it was a launch title. It's the closest the series will ever get to a sequel, because it's not just a port of the PS3 game. MNR Vita is the opposite of a fun game, which is kind of bad, especially considering it's a kart raser. It does have some online functions like posting your time trials and racing other people's ghosts, it's pretty half assed. It's almost as if Sony was 50% done development, then decided LittleBigPlanet was the karting future and half assed the rest of ModNation. And don't even get me started on the menu screens. It's a pity though, because the front touch and back touch should have made creating tracks super fun and easy, but the entire game just fell apart. TBH, I thought it was retarded that they even made MNR 1 instead of a LBP kart game from the very moment they announced it. You already have this established Play/Create/Share brand, why would you try to make essentially the same thing in a kart game and not use that license?
Strangelove
Well, I think they thought they didn't have to since you can create a kart racing game in LBP 2. Im still not quite sure why theres an LBP kart game. I just figured theyd keep refining/fixing/ Modnation. I was never a fan of it. It always felt a bit rough to me. Maybe LBP Karting will be better. As it stands Sonic All Star Racing has been the best kart racing game this generation. Yeah, the hell with Mario Kart Wii and it's stupid plastic wheel. TheMightyEthan
You can play Mario Kart Wii with a Gamecube controller, making it actually fun.

TheMightyEthan
Alright, so chapter 7 of Valkyria Chronicles kicked my ass, now I'm discouraged and looking for a new game to play. I'd wanted to play Gods and Kings today but when Steam says June 18 apparently it actually means 12:00 AM on June 19.
Hot Heart
Started playing Driver: San Francisco. Seems fairly fun so far. And this is Life On Mars...In Cars!
toxicitizen
Alright, so chapter 7 of Valkyria Chronicles kicked my ass, now I'm discouraged and looking for a new game to play. I'd wanted to play Gods and Kings today but when Steam says June 18 apparently it actually means 12:00 AM on June 19. It always said June 19 for me. Perhaps you misread it? I mean, games usually come out on tuesdays, not mondays. This is actually the second game I've seen unlock at midnight on Steam recently, rather than some arbitrary time (used to me around 10AM for me), so I'm liking this new trend. Anyway, I wanted to give it a shot when it unlocked last night but was a bit too tired so I ended up only playing this afternoon. I'm loving the new systems but they're not very complex or game-changing. Religion especially seems like just a few bonuses you can pick depending on what kind of play-style you're going for. So far there doesn't seem to be huge benefits to actively spreading your religion all over the place, but I'm sure there's more to it than what I've seen so far. Espionage is a lot of fun, though. TheMightyEthan
I didn't misread, I checked numerous times because I was confused. For example, at 6:00 PM on June 18 it said Available: June 18, 2012This game will unlock in approximately 6 hours
Little Pirate
Found my old FFIX discs when I went to visit my parents--took it home and realized just how badly scratched they were. I was terrible about putting discs away as a kid... So using my super pirate skills I managed to burn a copy to a CD-R and trick the PS2 using the swap trick. It feels good to pick up an old game for nostalgia's sake. And you can really see how much graphics have evolved over the years. To think this game used to be top quality when I was a kid... SomTervo
Trying to get Gold in every Score Attack in Max Payne 3. So much fun, though New York Minute is the better mode. If I can manage this, I get Unlimited Bullet Time if I do Chapter Select... That'll be fucking awesome for a collectible-pickup play through. Also, it's great being able to choose which Max model you want to play with, also, a little-known-fact is that on replaying chapters, you can choose the original Max Payne model or the Max Payne 2 model to play with. It's hilarious, brilliantly goofy but well implemented. MP2 max looks fucking good. Currently on the second last chapter on Score Aattack. The only problem with the mode is that the toughest SA chapters a ones with fewer enemies; you really have to play well to get gold or platinum on those. And the only chapters that are this short/ sparse are the earlier ones... So Score Attack is harder in the earlier missions... Balancing issues ahoy. I love Max Payne 3. Started playing Driver: San Francisco. Seems fairly fun so far. And this is Life On Mars...In Cars! Love that game. What platform you on? If you want an MP bud, lemme know. Has brilliant multiplayer, potensh better than the SP. Edited June 20, 2012 by kenshi_ryden
