Little Pirate
Hotline Miami A friend showed this to me and I've gotten addicted since. It's essentially like Manhunt, only it's faster paced and from an 8-bit top point of view. It's got a pretty catchy soundtrack, too.
Strangelove
I didnt know Dishonored was placed in some old timey alternate timeline. Thats very disappointing since I thought it took place in the present or near future. Im tired of old timey bullshit. We need more games like Deus Ex HR instead of Assassin's Creed or Mass Effect. Not too far back or too forward and NOT a huge lifeless city like GTA. Edited June 8, 2013 by Strangelove
deanb
It's set in some alternate world isn't it? It's fashioned after victorian London but in general it's set in a separate universe not timeline. I quite like the world they spin though, it's not massively bulked out, but it's fleshed enough and feels real enough.
Saturnine Tenshi
I love alternate history. Not exactly the case with Dishonored, but close enough.
TheMightyEthan
Yeah, it's a whole alternate world. Landmasses and everything are way different, it seems that physics is different, etc. Culturally it's very much based on Victorian London, but in terms of tech it's kind of all over the place. TheMightyEthan
Just played the first chapter of Transformers: War for Cybertron, and I'm not getting what's so great about it. It just seems like a second-rate TPS to me.
Faiblesse Des Sens
I've been playing a bit of Awesomenauts lately. Really easy just to hop in with friends and waste some time and talk some shit.
toxicitizen
Been replaying Alan Wake lately but now that I'm done with it, I'm not sure what I'll do next. I was thinking of maybe replaying Dishonored or Human Revolution. I played the first hour of Saints Row: The Third but I'm not sure if I'll keep playing it as I was getting pretty shitty framerates when out in the open-world. So that kinda sucks. TCP
Fallout New Vegas DLC. Honest Hearts was great. Old World Blues was OK, now I'm struggling to get through Dead Money... Hopefully Lonesome Road is better.
deanb
I skipped Dead Money in the end. though I've yet to finish Fallout. I guess after Dishonored (which I reckon I'm near the end of) it'll be the next one to do.
TheMightyEthan
I'm planning to start DA2 next. Last night I went through with the save generator to generate an input save, since I played Origins and Awakening on the 360.
Hot Heart
Started playing The Walking Dead, finished episode 1. QTEs are...lame, but the rest makes up for it. Also, interesting to see I was in the minority for all decisions except the last one. Forget that dumb kid. Let his father save him. Also, I don't recall lying to the guy. I was honest at first (the game even said he believed me) and then just gave vague details during the second conversation. I suppose if it has to be so binary... Eleven
KotOR. Those old republicans sure love their huge ass empty spaces! Maybe it's just on Taris, though. Haven't gotten out of the planet yet.
Mercurial
Damn it eleven. Now I have to replay Kotor.
Mr. GOH!
Stuck in Saint's Row 3. I think I'm in the second chapter, essentially. The Big Bad is a gang of guys in luchador masks. The only missions available are from the pimp with the vocoder, a female nerd and a boxer. Every single mission seems to just be a way to introduce the player to boring and,a t times, frustrating minigames. Maybe I was spoiled by going through some of the DLC first, but these missions have all been really bland. And I've been through at least six of them, and there appears to be no end in sight. Where's the zaniness promised in the opening hour of the game?
TheFlyingGerbil
woo. I'm playing animal crossing today. Reset it a couple of times to get a good town layout but ended up with peaches. I couldn't face starting again so that is what I'm stuck with Hopefully get some other fruits in soon and start replacing my natives. Loving it so far. It's got a good mix of the familiar and the new and I was wandering around my town with a big stupid grin on my face. I ended up calling my town Koholint and I'm a girl character named Marin. I'm glad I went with a girl as she is super cute and When I went in to able sisters she could wear trousers so I'm hoping I can wear that cool link outfit they showed if I ever work out how to find it. Mal
Final Fantasy 12 (about time) Shows some promise! When I was watching my younger brother play, he was playing it passively so it seemed so dull. Switched to Active else the game will be too slow. I'm still trying to get used to the battle system though, especially initiating an attack (There might be a action cool down bar that I'm not seeing). So yes FDS, I'm seeing what you said in the FF thread. Story so far (25 minutes in)... poor princess but I'm not sure how we got back to the fortress with the king in danger (all after the princess' husband died)... I understand that he went there to sign a treaty (surrender) but he somehow got split up from his guards.
deanb
As far as the battles go it'll take a while until you can get them totally up to awesomeness (when you get a party, and access to more gambits). After Leviathan iirc is when the game properly opens up. I'm not understanding what you're saying with the second part. King isn't split from his guards, you're a second group that's going to stop the conspiracy. It comes a bit more clearer later on I guess. Dee
I just reached "Fall" in TLoU. Jesus Christ. This game is something else. I managed to get past Winter and into Spring, stopped there because it was 3 in the morning and I figured I should probably get rest before I had to work.
