Strangelove
Well, Im in world 6 of SM3DW, I just beat the storyline to Injustice, and Im about to start Borderlands 2. 3D World is fantastic. Its up there as one of the best of this year. Injustice is a lot of fun and in my opinion its the first great game the MK people have made. I liked MK9 just fine, but this one tops it. Its an actual fighting game.
toxicitizen
Finally got my Vita today. Haven't really started any proper games yet but I did play with it for most of the afternoon. Tried demos for Spelunky, Escape Plan and Tearaway. I really liked the last two and will definitely be picking them up at some point. As for Spelunky, I might actually double dip it as, much like Hotline Miami, having a portable version of it sounds kind of awesome. There's actually a few indie titles I'll probably be double dipping. Rogue Legacy and the Binding of Isaac remake are the big ones but I'm also thinking of getting Lone Survivor and maybe Stealth Inc. (Stealth Bastard was such a cooler title...). I thought Limbo was cross-buy but apparently the devs backed out of the program for some reason, so I can't get the Vita version now. That's a bummer but eh, fuck 'em. I'm not rebuying their game. So far, I'm really glad I picked it up. I'm not a huge fan of how the bubble interface looks but it works well enough so who cares. Also, having never owned a smartphone or any kind of touch-based device other than a DS, I thought the touch controls would take some getting used to but it actually feels pretty natural. My biggest issue so far is the back touch panel. I guess my hands are too big because I just can't comfortably hold the system without having most of my fingers all over it. Might have to invest in something like this I'm also definitely gonna have to get a new memory card asap. I only transferred three PSP games on it and it's already almost full. And I still need to somehow get Gravity Rush and Soul Sacrifice on there. 4GB is simply way too small. And speaking of which, holy shit is the memory card ridiculously tiny! It's like a third of the size of the PSP memory sticks. You could probably swallow it and not even realize it. I also expected the game cases to be much bigger, for some reason. TheMightyEthan
I actually have that exact grip from the picture and I really like it. Thursday got it too and AFAIK he also likes it.

The whole point of touch is it's supposed to be intuitive as fuck. You're not pressing a button to cause a reaction elsewhere, you're actually interacting with something instead. Which is why cats and toddlers can play with tablets.

Yeah, I guess I just needed to use one for more than a few seconds. My only experiences with touch-controlled devices had been when listening to music on my friends' phones or iPods while drinking. I'd either keep accidentally clicking on random shit while trying to scroll or just completely fail at typing on the touch keyboard. My big thumbs still kinda struggle a bit at the latter but I think I'm slowly getting the hang of it.

Chronixal
Just going through Killzone Shadow Fall at the moment. Doing as I always do and going through the campaign before touching multiplayer but can't wait to give it a go. I notice too the online pass says you can share with three/four friends. I wonder how unless they mean sharing on the same machine.
Strangelove
Me and a friend tried Warframe for a bit. The visuals and most of the gameplay is pretty fun. It honestly reminds me of RE6 a bit, or ME3 multi.Theres really 2 things I hate about it and maybe those are just part of being a free game, but leveling up is slow as fuck. Ive played through 4 levels and im not even level 1 yet. Also, the major currency in the game, platinum, is ridiculously low in supply. But you can buy it off PSN with real money. Its just such a shame because there are so many weapons and skins and powers int he game, its pretty cool. But I doubt Ill stick to it enough to unlock any of it. Oh and the other thing that sucks about it is the melee. Its super powerful, but so difficult to get a hit. Annoying.
danielpholt
Spelunky - picked it up on the Vita. I can see why someone would like it, but for me it's just not grabbing me. Not sure what it is, but I think it would probably have been a better investment on PC. I simply don't have the friends list for a game like this to really shine on PLaystation. I guess that's not really the games fault though. Gun Commando - a free PS Mobile FPS with an old school sensibility about it. It's free and it plays well enough. I can see myself getting bored at some point, but for now it's giving me my fix of retro FPS Action.
Hot Heart
Started The Wolf Among Us. Really love the art-style and the atmosphere, and I don't know much about Fables itself so it was fun being drawn into that world and not knowing what to expect. I guess I'm a sucker for detective/noir stuff with a slightly off-kilter feel (tried writing something like this myself years ago, except without fairytales as such and with a slightly different feel...also it sucked). Early on I was thinking, "Hey, this could be different to Walking Dead in that there'll be a chance for romance this time as well." ...but I don't really go for headless chicks. Goddamn head-lopper cock-blocker And maybe it's just a better-concocted illusion of choice but it seems decisions could more of a difference compared to Walking Dead. EDIT: Oh, and I loved it at the end... ...after the fight with Grendel, you get that double of Midas' Gold and down it. Then I thought, "Hey, I can be a badass by throwing down the money for it and just casually walking away." Of course, the game helpfully reminds me, "You gave your money to Faith." Aww, damnit... CorgiShinobi
Happened to me too. Not to be a badass, but show I can still be civil after kicking the crap outta someone.
Hot Heart
Well, yeah, you get to be a polite badass. And it's funny seeing people confused as to why you have the option to rip off Grendel's arm. Philistines...
Saturnine Tenshi
Ended up doing this neat mini-game in GW2 last night that's like a tower defense game . . . only with infected holiday toys, siege engines and dolyaks. And some other holiday event screens:
TheMightyEthan
Do they still call it Winter's Day like they did in GW1?
Saturnine Tenshi
Yeah. Though I've never actually experienced it in GW1. I only played that for a month or so. :< Edit: There's also a rhythm mini-game: Edited December 11, 2013 by Saturnine Tenshi
Mal
Etrian Odyssey IV Might as well throw this on here since the demo can jump over to the retail version. Its for sure a hard little game where I find myself running back to town quite often. I love the map drawing system (I love making maps...). Since there doesn't seem to be a strong story holding the game together, I feel this is a good pick up and play for 20-30 minutes game which is ideal for me. Hopefully the gameplay is solid enough that I will keep on coming back to it. Remember, being brutally hard isn't always a good thing. Little Pirate
Hotline Miami. Had this game sitting in my list and haven't given it a real playthrough save for an hour or so every now and then. The soundtrack is pretty sweet.
Mister Jack
I already played that on ps+ but I bought it again on steam just for the soundtrack.
Mal
Uncharted 3. Unless I gotten really crappy at console shooters or I just can't aim as well as I used to but holy hell is the aiming is kind of crappy. I used to murder folks in Uncharted 2 MP. I recall just having homing sights. Maybe guess hard mode takes off auto aim? Also should I be scared that my screen blanks out at times? I think its my PS3...
TheMightyEthan
I don't know about Uncharted 3 specifically, but I know some games do turn off auto-aim when you play on hard mode.
