Strangelove
Check the options menu. They changed the aiming for Uncharted 3 and people bitched about it so they updated the game with an option to have it aim like Uncharted 2. Well, at least I remember that it's optional. toxicitizen
Yeah, I remember the aiming in U3 being really shitty at launch. I used to pull off headshots effortlessly in U2 but once 3 came out it was like I'd never played the damn series before. Didn't play the game beyond my first playthrough, though, so I heard they released a patch but I have no idea if it improved things or not. NeoStarr
Hotline Miami. Had this game sitting in my list and haven't given it a real playthrough save for an hour or so every now and then. The soundtrack is pretty sweet. My most favourite game ever. If you haven't already, opt into the beta version. It's smoother, has more options, an extra level, and leaderboards. Right click on it in steam > properties > betas > and enter the code "hlm" (that's HLM, not HIM).
toxicitizen
Started playing Persona 4 Golden a few days ago, so I've been pretty much glued to my Vita ever since. This series is seriously like crack. I'm about 16 hours in so I've only begun scratching the surface but I'm starting to get a feel for how everything is going to flow. At first, I was kind of put off by some of the changes from P3. I was disappointed by the lack of a uber dungeon like Tartarus and I thought the premise, setting and characters of 3 were just more interesting overall. Of course, I played P3 for about 4 years on and off, so I probably got attached to those things more than I realized. Everything about 4 has started growing on me by now and the major differences are starting to feel kind of superficial, so that's good. The gameplay is unarguably a massive improvement, though. Pretty much every single thing, however big or small, that bugged me about P3 has been completely fixed. The fast travel menu makes exploration much less of a chore than it was in P3 and having direct control over your party members is fucking glorious. Now I understand why people always recommend playing P3 first because of how hard it is going back to it after P4.
staySICK
I need to finish p4G still. Pretty far into it, only been playing it off and on for a year now...
toxicitizen
I feel you. These games are great but so goddamned long! I got burned out on P3 around the 50 hours mark and didn't touch it again for almost two years. Then I got back into it big time but ended up playing too much of it in too short a time and the same thing happened after 20 more hours. That was about two years ago and I only got around to playing the last ~30 hours in the last few weeks. I don't want the same thing to happen with P4G but I only have about two and a half weeks until the next semester starts and I seriously doubt that's going to be enough time. So, I might not be able to finish it until next summer.
toxicitizen
So, I got frustrated with Persona 4 after repeatedly dying on the same floor of a dungeon yesterday. I rage quit and started Virtue's Last Reward. I already got one bad ending and one story lock. So far, it's pretty great! Initially, the new cast of characters and the new version of the Nonary Game seemed less interesting than the ones in 999, but once things really started to get going I actually started enjoying it a lot more than 999. Of course, by the time I got to 999's true ending, pretty much all the mystery was gone and I was just in it for the story resolution. So it's possible what I'm enjoying is simply the return to that early game mystery. But man, the first bad ending I got, when I hit that "ally" button I was so goddamned nervous about it. And now I don't think I can ever fully trust that one character that screwed me over for the remainder of the game. It was amazing.
Hot Heart
Been a lazy Christmas and I bought that US import of The Avengers, so I watched all the extras of that (commentary and deleted scenes are real interesting) and then decided to play LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. Avengers overload maybe... It's been pretty fun as far as LEGO games go. They've added a bit more spectacle and stuff in, which is nice; plus, they dropped that horrible inventory stuff from LOTR. Took too long to get to the X-Men's involvement though...
TheMightyEthan
I want Lego Marvel for PS4, but I'm not sure enough I'll like it to spend more than $20 on it, and it doesn't want to drop.
Saturnine Tenshi
Long Live the Queen. I tried to make her a military dictator. It was working out well until I was poisoned by chocolates.

TheMightyEthan
Okay, I had no interest in Long Live the Queen until that exchange. Now I'm intrigued.
Mister Jack
I thought about buying that one but apparently it's extremely short so I didn't.
Saturnine Tenshi
I think it's worth the $5, though I've only played something between 2-3 hours of it. Most of the shortness is due to your untimely death by . . . many things. So you sort of have to learn from your mistakes and take different paths or learn different skills (or the same skills earlier or later). Still, it isn't a long game by any means. Mr. GOH!
TME: Lego Marvel is worth more than $20. I'd suggest you get it for PC for $12 or whatever on the Amazon sale, but I assume you want to play it with your wife. Been playing, and finished, the first episodes of Walking Dead: Season 2 and The Wolf Among Us. I like them both quite a bit. Just started a new fighter/cleric in Baldur's Gate; Enhanced Edition to fool around with over the next few months. Hopefully BG2:EE will go on sale before I finish BG1:EE. TheMightyEthan
Yeah, I keep hearing it's really good, but we tried Lego Star Wars back in the day and it was so frustrating to play together that I don't want to spend much on this one. And yes, I have been so tempted by the PC version, but that's not really workable for coop.
Mr. GOH!
Never played Lego Star Wars, but I hear that Lego Marvel is the best Lego game yet from folks that seem to know.
Saturnine Tenshi
And I just beat Long Live the Queen. Totally worth the $5-$10. Maybe spoilers? You awaken to the sound of chanting outside the castle. You stick your head out the window to see what's happening, then withdraw with a gasp. The peasants are rebelling! Hundreds, maybe thousands, of them, with spears and pitchforks and torches, all screaming for your removal. And here you are in your tower, with your armies depleted from the recent war. Of course, you do have an advantage over the mob - You are a Lumen. Do you dare turn your powers on your own people? Menu: [Attack them] [Wait for them to go away] Player chose: Attack them You refuse to cower like a frightened rabbit. You will march out to them openly and show them that you have the power of the gods behind you. What would be difficult against soldiers in armor is instead ridiculously easy against untrained peasants. You barely have to wave your hand and people fall away, screaming and covered in burns. After only a few minutes, the crowd breaks and flees in panic, leaving behind only the wounded too slow to get out of the way of the stampede. Hot Heart
Yeah, I keep hearing it's really good, but we tried Lego Star Wars back in the day and it was so frustrating to play together that I don't want to spend much on this one. And yes, I have been so tempted by the PC version, but that's not really workable for coop. Well, the games have come a long way since then, but I guess it depends what your frustrations were. There is definitely still the issue of 'friendly fire' which can be pretty annoying when you're Cyclops and just want to blast some fools and not your teammates. However, the real issue there is getting killed right back and losing all your lego studs (money), and this game is really generous with those anyway. The biggest real frustration I've had was neglecting to use the mid-level savepoints and, of course, getting a goddamn freeze during the final boss bit after thirty-odd minutes of play. TheMightyEthan
Honestly I think the biggest frustration, having to wait on each other/drag the screen to where you need it, is alleviated by the new splitscreen mechanic. I'm just not confident enough of that to drop $50 on it.
WhitePawn
Trying to make my way through Ni No Kuni but the grinds are starting ot get to me. First playthrough of Earthbound currently ongoing. LoZ: ALBW, enjoying it thus far. Soundtrack is nostalgic, gameplay is pretty solid on the handheld. Something bugs me about it, though. WWHD: Just another 100% run in glorious HD MegaMan Legends. Another classic I never beat as a child.
