Faiblesse Des Sens
Have you rung any bells yet?
CorgiShinobi
Yeah, the Undead Parish bell. Almost didn't because I didn't see the staircase right away. Knew the sorcerer guy had to be reachable. Gargoyles weren't that tough, but then again I probably had leveled up enough and found good gear. toxicitizen
Finally made it to Anor Londo today. Man, I had heard it was something else but holy shit, such a different vibe from everything else up to that point. I love this game so fucking much.
Faiblesse Des Sens
Anal London is always a sight to behold. Whenever I hop back in I always try and warp over there and look around.
Little Pirate
I've had Far Cry 3 sitting in my steam list for ages, I just never took the time to play it. I made it through about three missions, then I slipped off the road trying to evade pirates and fell into a small patch of water. I turned to try to head back to shore and the only thing I saw was an open mouth and a pair of teeth before I got a game over screen. I didn't see that croc comin'. Not at all. I don't think I've ever had such a girly shriek leave me playing a video game.
deanb
I'm still currently playing Kingdoms of Amalur. Man it's a pretty big game. I'm only like a 3rd of the world in, though I think it's wanting me to be dashing across places since many of my new quests are several zones away. It used to be each new quest was in the next zone over, slowly leading you across the map. Pretty much my only grievance with the game is my fighting seems slower than enemies (allowing them to interrupt my attacks, but I rarely have chance to block or dodge theirs), and the menu system is horribad. TheFlyingGerbil
I gave up on that game not long after you escaped the first castle (about an hour or so?) when I kept getting killed by werewolves, it was well fricking annoying. Strangelove
Outlast on PS4. Its pretty good. Though gore and jump scares are kind of cheap, it does them really well. Anyone here played it or is playing it right now?
TheMightyEthan
I have not started it yet but plan to soon.
Mr. GOH!
Played through some of it and plan to get back to it soon. Just played through episode 2 of wolf among us. Pretty fun, if you like that sort of game. Getting to be able to recognize the telltale voice acting crew pretty quickly, though. Never realized that Clementine was actually voiced by a woman in her 30's; she also voices Toad Junior and Beauty TWAU.
TheMightyEthan
I thought Beauty sounded like Clementine. There was one line specifically that stood out to me, but I can't remember what it was.
TCP
Terraria is consuming me. I have defeated the King Slime, Eater of Worlds, Eye of Cthulhu, and Skeletron. Which I think means the Wall of Flesh is next. Last night I combined the Light's Bane, Muramasa, Blade of Grass, and Fiery Greatsword (man that hellstone was a pain to mine), and got the Night's Edge, which is the best sword pre-hardmore, apparently. I was thinking of trying to obtain the Molten armor but on console it requires a lot more hellstone to create. :-\
deanb
I'm playing Dungeon Keeper 2. Pretty fun, think I'm a fair way through it but the map ain't exactly straight forward. I don't remember getting this far before, though it's been an age since I played it due to incompatibilities (even took GoG a fair while to eventually patch it to actually run beyond the Bullfrog logo*). Pretty much only issue is being kinda old it's 4:3 only so lose half the screen, some old-fashioned controls too but only really applies to using Possess spell. *Which is kinda bullshit given that's their supposed USP...or at least was, they seem to be jumping on the new indie game bandwagon at the moment. Alex Heat
I started on Shin Megami Tensei IV in my quest to defeat my backlog. And then I realized it's going to be a while because most of my backlog is RPGs.
Strangelove
It's pretty awesome on the iPad. Definitely the best version. I get the hate for the new character sprites, but Ive honestly already got used to them. screenshots are just really offputting, but once you play the game and you see them animated, it's not a big deal. Id even say it's for the better since they were remade by the original artist. That's not something that happens every day. The weirdest thing(and Ive always noticed this) is how people are complaining that they look too different to be in the game, that they're too bright and stick out compared to the rest of the game. But the entire game is inconsistent visually. All the 2D Final Fantasies are. In one battle you could be fighting a really large realistically proportioned Kefka and in the next you could be fighting chibi Kefka. Whenever people fall off a cliff, get hit, or do anything outside of running or walking, they almost always use the wrong animation. They didnt animated the characters to do so much and it looks off as hell. The magic spells outside off battle look way different than in battle. It doesn't look good, but it kind of becomes it's charm. The game was amazing for 1993. It mostly still is, but its not to be taken so seriously. People need to chill and enjoy it. I also dont understand the $16 hate. $20? Id understand that. The fucked up part is if it came out on consoles, $20 would be no problem for the people that are bitching. Blah. Im enjoying it. Its a great remake.
TheMightyEthan
Isn't that the one where they made the game way harder, jacked up all the shop prices, and took out half the save points to encourage you to buy items/money/revives through the microtransaction store? Doesn't that justify hate?
toxicitizen
No fucking way. Did they actually do that? I mean, designing an entire game around scummy, cash-grabbing in-app purchases is one thing. But to gut an existing game, a beloved classic at that, to turn it into this kinda crap is beyond shitty. TCP
I haven't heard that, but that would certainly justify the hate. I'd definitely pick this up on console or handheld (without microtransactions, of course) but I just don't want to control characters without an actual d-pad. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels like this. I don't understand why Square would leave so much money on the table by not porting this to PlayStation (crossbuy!) or 3DS. Surely porting a 2D sprite based game wouldn't be a big challenge for a company Square Enix's size?
TheMightyEthan
SORRY EVERYONE! It wasn't FF6, it was Tales of Phantasia that they did that to. My mistake. Edited February 10, 2014 by TheMightyEthan
toxicitizen
Even if you had the wrong game, holy shit, that's still pretty fucking terrible. What the fuck.
TheMightyEthan
I agree, just be sure to direct your hate at Namco rather than Square.

It's been out on PS Store for ages (at least in UK) https://store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/#!/en-gb/games/final-fantasy-vi/cid=EP0082-NPEF00157_00-GFINALFANT000001 (Where it's also £8/$13 making it £3 less than on mobile)
toxicitizen
I agree, just be sure to direct your hate at Namco rather than Square. Oh, yeah, good point. I didn't pick up on that, for some reason. Probably doesn't help that Squeenix have also been kinda shitty on the mobile side of things. Seems they like overpricing their games and they certainly don't shy away from IAP-driven garbage products. Pretty sure we got it over here as well and that version kinda runs like crap. I'd much rather a proper rerelease with better load times, adjusted aspect ratio and everything. TCP
The PSOne version of FF6 is terrible, the game has to load to go to the menus and into battles. There are similar problems with FF5 and Chrono Trigger on PSOne.
