Mal
Still on TitS but I got to say, they got enemy progression right. At the beginning of a new area, encounters are usually one or two enemies. Further in the number increases. This allows you to easily gauge how tough the area is without getting murdered. Other than that, yes, there is a ton of world building 30 hours in. There is also a nice progression from the idealized Bracer duties and powers to tougher, more realistic outlook. The characters are turning from greenhorns to veterans. One more area before the capital. I think the majority of the world building will end there and with that, most of the game. I need SC soon. Strangelove
I not feeling Dragon's Crown. It feels like a Vanillaware game, but I it just seems even more repetitive than usual. Not to mention all the crazy micromanaging. The narrative is kind of boring. I just feel anxious when Im playing it. I just want to play the damn game and not deal with boring dialogue, appraising items, or maintaining equipment. Though when I play it I don't feel any kind of satisfaction since I haven't really gotten stuck yet. The art of course is still gorgeous though. OdinSphere4lyfe. deanb
I've been playing Little Inferno. It's certainly a bit dark (well until you set something on fire) It's a relatively simple game, throw things in fire, burn them. Try and get combos to unlock later catalogues. Some combos are relatively straightforward, some a bit more obscure, but I guess there's walkthroughs online if I get stuck at all. Only major bugger with it is that the game likes to heat the CPU up a fair bit (and does something weird with the CPU stats too, making it claim more CPU hours than you'd been playing the game for). Also it has a timer on it despite no IAPs for buying gems n what not, seems a bit stupid (or like that was initial plan)
TheFlyingGerbil
I don't remember a timer? Does it only give you so long before the fire dies out? Haven't played t in ages, since it came out on the wii u, in fact. I enjoyed the atmosphere though I remember being disappointed with the gameplay and story. Particularly for the price, though guess that's less of an issue now at least. Something to do with the neighbour annoyed me,though I cant remember what it was and obviously wouldn't spoil it for you anyway. may have to have a little google and annoy myself again. toxicitizen
No, it's there. It's pretty much the entire point of the game. It's a commentary on those shitty phone/facebook games that have timed/monetary restrictions on progression. Strangelove
Man, Tales games have some of the blandest character designs ever. And that's considering all of the jrpg spectrum. At least no dude in Symphonia is showing off his midriff...yet.
Strangelove
So Ive been playing Diablo 3 for....well I dont know for how long. Quite a bit. My character is about level 18. Anyways, I like it a lot, but at the same time Im wondering why its such a big deal. Why is it at the top compared to other dungeon crawlers? Theyre all ridiculously similar. The game actually reminded me of Silent Hill on Vita. I thought that game was really good too. Is Diablo 3 doing something radically different that I cant see? Maybe some sort of shit behind the scenes is going on. So far I assume that people like it a lot because its just extremely polished, which it is. Anyways, my critical curiosity aside, it's pretty damn good. And on a whole different note, does this game have fucked up audio on every version or just the PS4 version? The levels are all screwed up. The music is barely audible and the sound effects are loud as fuck that it drowns everything else out. I had to turn that shit down to 40%. Its insane. Mister Jack
To my recollection, It sounds about the same as the PC version does, or at least how it was at launch Music never seems to be a big priority in games like these. As for me, Diablo III is the game I'm playing right now too, and holy shit it is way more fun than it was when I played it on the PC 2 years ago. All those patches did it some real good. Being able to move with a stick as opposed to clicking everywhere is just flat out better, too.
Strangelove
Is Diablo 3 supposed to be easy? Because on normal it totally is. Im at level 30 and have yet to die or even get close to it.
Popular Post Mister Jack
The monsters in the console version clearly aren't prepared for an enemy who can ROOOOOLL.

Yeah, think of normal as the tutorial. You're meant to move on to the next difficulty for a bigger challenge and better drops.

Cinder
What's betrayer? I've not heard of that (oh, and hello there!) Hello, gifted rodent Betrayer is a game made by a small indie studio made on the Unreal engine (not using Unity means they're legit : P). It lets you play in Jamestown era America and deal with being alone besides one other individual. You're meant to find out what happened there by shooting all of the weird enemies that are around. The combat is the best part I think because you get to use muskets, the enemies do a lot of damage, and the enemy AI is reasonable (as in they're good shots, the stealth mechanics don't seem like bullshit, and they have decent, while basic, strategies). Unless you spend all your money on a decent gun you'll need to be pretty damn good at head shots or groups of enemies can quickly overwhelm you. Over all it's a solid action adventure game with a Sin City aesthetic and some survival horror elements. To see gameplay, there's some on the channel in my sig or just google it haha Edited August 23, 2014 by Cinder
TheFlyingGerbil
Sounds interesting, but if it needs decent shooting skills it would be no good for me. I am not that skilled at gaming, with shooting being a particular weakness.
Cinder
Probably best to avoid it then. I died ~20 times trying to clear a fort of enemies.. it was aggravating
CorgiShinobi
I'll be playing Infamous: Second Son once it finishes downloading on my new PS4. Really excited as I do love me some Infamous!
deanb
I'm back in to playing Amalur at the moment. Had gone through a bunch of games in the meantime trying to get a feel for some unplayed ones, so did a bit of Hard Reset which I find some aspects neat, but for the most part it got a bit silly with like 3 enemy types all the time that are mostly defeated with either a lot of bullets or somehow managing to guide them near an electric point. There were barrels but my kingdom for the ability to pick them up (oh also crouch, a lot of areas that are totally blocked off cos apparently my guy doesn't have knees). I might go back to it, but it's "ooh this is pretty, ooh I like the environment stuff, and the minor exploration" kinda got outweighed by the lack of E, Ctrl and ..oh yeah health packs being a thing in a game from only 2 years ago. Played some Confrontation but turns out wasn't quite what I was expecting, has a lot of filler text too. However I've a feeling it might be worth persevering with. Also Realms of Ancient War which plays a bit like Diablo. Also Divinity II, which actually wasn't too bad, my only peeve being activating spells is a huge PITA as well as targeting things. You had to kinda really aim yourself at a barrel to see if it's empty or not (so on one hand it's nice that you can see if something is empty before opening, on the other hand aiming at chests isn't that great. Can make it hard to target spells at distant ranged enemies while another dude is running at you, which is what your reticle would automatically lock on to. Also my Steam "Now playing" is lying, so don't pay attention on that.
Saturnine Tenshi
Aside from Guild Wars 2, I've been spending a little time in One Finger Death Punch. It's surprisingly good and addicting for a two-button game.
Eleven
Diablo 3 is not the game to buy if you're trying to limit your gaming time. Been playing more than I should have and now back to losing sleep. lol. Shit is addicting. But it's cool, I guess. It's a very satisfying game to play. I never had downtimes or moments I find myself bored. Just keep on going and kill everything and it's all good.
TheMightyEthan
So, SL, how is D3 alone? All this talk about it is tempting me, but I doubt I'd have many people to play with.

Its about the same as Borderlands 2 alone I guess. I had fun with both and they both seem to offer the same thing, at least to me as far as why I played them(getting better equipment and leveling up to get new abilities just so I can annilihate fuckers in new rad ways).
