TheMightyEthan
Oh well. I'm Batman. Yeah, that's the thing those games to do well: capture the feeling of being Batman. The rest is all window dressing.
Hot Heart
I am playing through Arkham City ... It is okay Ban him. BAN HIM! On serious note though, some of the big Batman arcs I'd read tended to throw in all the villains so it never felt odd to me. The AC premise is a very iffy though.
P4: Gritty Reboot
I'm cool with villain appearances and what not. But the first 2 hours or so had Joker, Harley, Penguin, Freeze, Riddler, Poison Ivy, Two-Face, and probably some I'm forgetting. Got kinda ridiculous. Hot Heart
Ah, that's a fair point. Dean, you can rescind the ban order.
SomTervo
I am playing through Arkham City on the Wii U. It is okay, but the whole "throw every Batman villain in there" thing makes it lack any real focus. Oh well. I'm Batman. Yeah, I find that really tiresome. I wish they made the focus narrower but deeper, basically how Arkham Asylum was. Imho, and again it's a controversial opinion, Arkham Origins handled it better. It made a lot more sense to have a breadth of villains in Origins because Bats was new on the scene and all the villains were making themselves known to him. And the pacing of their introduction was better. The caveat to this is that Anarchy and Ninja-lady were totally bullshit filler. danielpholt
Batman: Arkham Origins: Blackgate: PS Vita Edition It's mediocre. The map sucks, the game-play is boring and half the time the damn thing doesn't work how it's supposed to.
Saturnine Tenshi
About 13 hours into Tales of Xillia now. I need to beat it before Ar no Surge—or whatever stupid way they're capitalizing that; otherwise, I won't be finishing it for a while. Also played more Divinity: Original Sin recently. I think I got burned out on it for a bit. I'm 63 hours in, and Steam says my last session was 3.3 hours. It's a great game in many respects. Many modern RPGs should take a page from it. Unfortunately, it's upholding the "Early Access" title: unfinished and riddled with bugs. A huge patch released yesterday on Guild Wars 2. Been busy with that, too. madbassman39
Started to play Bioshock Infinite...... Holy cow this game has blown me away. I expected it to be good but not this good!

Mal
Infinite taught me to not be too hyped about a game... somewhat. It's great but expectations were too high. The first two DLCs kind of soured the whole deal too. The third DLC though... oh man.
Saturnine Tenshi
Final day of the first match week of the Guild Wars 2 WvW Fall Tournament, so I'm staying up until . . . currently 3AM to get our lead for the win.
danielpholt
Infinite taught me to not be too hyped about a game... somewhat. It's great but expectations were too high. The first two DLCs kind of soured the whole deal too. The third DLC though... oh man. Part II of BaS was the best part of that entire game. I enjoyed Infinite, but I wasn't sad to see it go either. Also it gets far to much praise for the way it handles social issues.
SomTervo
I was going to say: don't get too excited about Bioshock Infinite. To each his own, obviously. But it seemed like the game was on track for 'masterpiece' status until the last 1-2 hours. Imho it totally fucks everything up at that point; pacing, gameplay, story. All go out the window in the last act. The story/gameplay depth/pace has got nothing on the original Bioshock (notwithstanding Bioshock's end boss). Visually, though, it's still a masterwork. Like I think Bioshock Infinite is one of the greatest games ever just because it's designed so masterfully. I was so disappointed there wasn't any deeply explored thematic/metaphorical aspect to Columbia. Popular Post Faiblesse Des Sens
Sigh, why no PC release, WHY!?Looks like horse dicks on PS3. Like literally if you went up really close to a bunch of horse dicks and it's all you could focus on and it's all blurry because you're too close.
Saturnine Tenshi
Yeah, it looks terrible on PS3.
TheFlyingGerbil
Started Hyrule Warriors today and played the first few levels in the main story mode and the retro adventure mode. I've never played a Dynasty Warriors game before, but it's pretty much what I was expecting, i.e. button mashing my way through hordes of enemies which is what I wanted and I enjoyed it. My only complaints so far are that the graphics are pretty embarrassing. I know there are a lot of enemies on screen but still, it looks like a 15 year old PC game. The other thing is it's not very clear what you're meant to be doing sometimes - you just wander around aimlessly waiting for someone to call for help and then try to work out which of the half a dozen flashing things on the map is your destination. Speaking of the map even if you know where you're going it's quite difficult to work out the way. There is no route marking so you're constantly looking at the mini-map and heading back on yourself. Mr. GOH!
Wasteland 2, which is exactly what I wanted and expected.
deanb
I'm nearing the end of Kingdoms of Amalur with a bit of Guild Wars 2 now and then. I guess if I really push I can have it done before October. Pretty much my only major grievance is that the equipment sets give you some pretty good perks, but cos of the way they level stuff they can get pretty pants on the Armour side kinda fast. So it's like "I'll have about 20% lower armour than this area expects/requires, but if I got for other non-set armour I lose out on the boosted health, regen and damage perks". So far I opt to keep the sets, my potions tend to be able to fill in the gaps on armour strength when absolutely needed (my magic is pretty strong now, many enemy groups I'm in, blasting lightning then just needing to pick off anyone that's left).
Saturnine Tenshi
Guild Wars 2 is an incumbent, of course. The Fall WvW tournament is going great for my server. We won the first (and most difficult) week with a desperate all-night push to grab the lead. The rest of the tournament should go smoothly. We're currently dominating (Gate of Madness). I've also started Ar nosurge (prequel to the Ar tonelico series). Well, I started it the day I bought it. I'm about 10 hours in, which isn't very far. A surprising bulk of my time has been spent watching events. Nearly every new item you synthesize is followed by the typical item dialogue as usual, but the items now unlock events as well. More dialogue. I don't mind it; it's just unexpected. I've completed 50% of the events for one character in the first 10 hours of the game. Not usually something you'd have the materials and recipes to do.
Faiblesse Des Sens
I think I'm about 3/4ths of the way through ME3. Did the Leviathan DLC (okay they twisted the origin from ME1 but it was still pretty intriguing) and haven't done the Citadel one which apparently is just massive fanservice but whatever. Besides that just finished up on Thessia. The game is certainly enjoyable though some parts of Leviathan were definitely lower in quality than the non-DLC portions. TheMightyEthan
Yeah, it was a really good game game other than the ending, and the Director's Cut fixed the most glaring problems with the ending.
