Baconrath
I've been playing Fire Emblem: Awakening. It's been really good so far but I've lost track of how many times I've restarted a battle because someone died from the RNG being a douche. It's been really good so far but I've lost track of how many times I've restarted a battle because someone died from the RNG being a douche. I turned that crap off. If you're just gonna restart a battle every time someone dies (which I totally would because I'm really obsessive-compulsive about that) then why even bother?
SomTervo
Styx: Master of Shadows It's like the stealth game ive been wanting for years but never knew i wanted So, so good Best bits of Thief, Splinter Cell and MGS with a phenomenally well designed dark fantasy universe Also inFamous First Light Which is also brilliant. Focusing down to just the Neon power, and refining it, has done wonders for the gameplay. I feel like an actual superhero actually doing stuff in a city. And no arbitrary moral choices in sight! Hallelujah! Also playing a female character who is very real is breathtaking. She's short, punky hair and trashed clothes. Still a badass superhero. Not the best written or acted, but more than good enough. So refreshing and a joy to play Edited January 9, 2015 by kenshi_ryden

Laviniya
I'm playing Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments, not the best game but it works for boring moments until I can get my hands on Star Ocean: The last hope that I just ordered.
SomTervo
As a big fan of the Holmes stories, crime fiction in general, and adventure games, would you recommend Crimes and Punishments? The sort of thing me and my partner would blast through over a weekend
Mister Jack
I borrowed my friend's copy of Shadow of Mordor. I have to admit, even though it shamelessly rips off Batman and Assassin's Creed, I'm still having a ball with it. It probably helps that this year's Assassin's Creed sucked balls, which makes this look that much better by comparison.

danielpholt
Transistor. About 90 minutes in, I'm in love with the music and it's art style; the fight mechanics are a little hit and miss and I'm really not a fan of the way the game uses new power-up (attacks and the like), although I think that might be more of a UI issue, maybe that'll improve as I get used to it? SomTervo
Unity is the best AC in the series imho. It's great, im preferring it to Mordor actually. I loved Mordor for a while but couldnt finish it, eventually the lack of mission/mechanic depth really finished it off Edited January 14, 2015 by kenshi_ryden
Normo
I've been playing Rayman Legends, and it's very good. The best thing about the game is probably how Rayman controls. He has such a good weight to him, and all the different moves you can pull off work together seamlessly. I've finished all the main story levels, so now I'm getting all the collectibles and completing the extra levels ripped from the last game (that look a bit shinier).
deanb
I've been playing Styx, which has gotten quite a bit hard towards the end point to the point of frustration. I've not touched it for a couple days but if I remember correctly the point I was at in my game was a room with only one exit, and a plated guard (which are invincible to all but a couple of methods of death) staring directly at the entrance. You can send out a clone but it causes only a minimal distraction, and since amber is limited you can't go invisible and walk past them (the end does have an issue of requiring you to use a chunk of your amber powers without really upping the amount of amber you have access to). I will beat it though, too far in to do otherwise. Might do some of the prior missions again first though, see if that helps (for one with getting more skill points to get a couple extra upgrades). I've also slowly gotten into Hearthstone, just playing it on my tablet while we're lounging about. I'm pretty shit at it tbh, but starting to pick up on bits. I think I need to use Taunt more often (also play with more classes, since mostly just done Mage and Paladin).
SomTervo
Legends is great, me and my gf love it co-op. And Kung-Foot is the best thing ever with 4 people I've been playing Styx, which has gotten quite a bit hard towards the end point to the point of frustration. Replaying a few missions is probably a good shout - you have to unlock all the skill sets to get that final 'Predator' set right? That one might be a bit of a gamechanger. Also maybe go back to the hideout and you can restock on amber vials?
Normo
Yeah, Kung-Foot is pretty cool. It's such a simple concept, but it works really well. I haven't managed to get 4 people around to play it, but a 2 player game can be a lot of fun too. I haven't really played many stealth games before, would Styx be a good game for beginners? I got Mark of the Ninja recently, which is supposed to be a pretty accessible stealth game, just wondering if Styx is only for hardcore stealth enthusiasts (that sounded better in my head). deanb
Both are games where if you're seen then you're normally dead quite quickly. Rather than say the "stealth" option of a lot of games where you just let your gun lose to rectify any issues caused by stepping out. Both are reasonably priced to give a spin, Styx has a nice little story to it (and a nice few twists) @kenshi: once you leave hideout you can't go back.
TheMightyEthan
Just started AC:U today, and I have to say I'm really pissed at the dev for breaking with the series convention of using accents to denote languages. Hearing everyone in Revolutionary France speak with a Fake British accent is really fucking distracting, but so is having to look at subtitles if I set it to actual French.
TCP
Yeah that was really distracting and broke the immersion. If only they could have developed the game in a place where people speak French...... oh wait. All the details to create a convincing Paris were undone when a guard yells "Aye, U thare! M8! U bloody bastard!". ...At least with Victory it won't be an issue.
toxicitizen
...At least with Victory it won't be an issue. Then at E3 "We heard your concerns about the accents in Unity, so in Assassin's Creed Victory everyone will speak with a french accent!"
Mister Jack
I started Persona Q. I'm enjoying it so far, but it commits the cardinal RPG sin of not leveling up your party evenly, which means that unless there's some special item or something I don't know about, I'm going to be pretty much stuck using Chie, Kanji, Zen/Rei, and Yukiko for the entire game. BAD Persona! Bad! At least I won't have to listen to Teddie's puns, I guess. Had I realized that at the start, though, I would have switched out Kanji for Naoto.
Mal
A graver sin is if they require you to use everybody for the final boss.
Thursday Next
Playing through Danganronpa 2. Quite enjoying it, even if it is a bit leery sometimes. Only one of the puzzles so far has made me want to take a trip to the developers and slap them in the face.

Aren't all Persona games like that, though? I mean, it's annoying but if you want to switch someone out you can always grind a bit to bring the new character up to your party's level. It's what I always did in P3 and P4. Edited January 26, 2015 by FLD
Mister Jack
It's less noticeable in the main games because everyone is highly specialized, meaning you'll be switching them out constantly depending on what elements you need. That's not really the case in Q, where everyone gets two Personas. Edited January 26, 2015 by Mister Jack
