That's right!

Unfortunately, when I went to Toys R' Us for the "Buy 1 Get 1 50% off," all the versions were gone. Went to Best Buy instead and I happened to receive a $5 Gift Card. I'm not sure about getting Black for my friend right now. She does happen to be the stubborn type. It took me months to get her to accept my DS Phat after her douchemates threw out her DS.

They threw her DS away? Like in the trash? WTF?

Yes, in the trash. It might have been an accident when they were cleaning for the apartment cleaning check, but it might have not been knowing how her roommates act. I told her I would help to get them back, because really, she pretty much works for food and rent. Not much money left for wants/entertainment.

She's "too kind" and so she can get pushed around a bit. Luckily she has lots of friends who stand by her side when trouble comes around. I've told her, if they trash the DS Phat, I'm not going to let them get away with it again. Obviously I won't physical hurt anyone, but it'll go down.

Studiously, ignoring that last comment!

I dislike Darksider's art style, but I heard it was a good game. I haven't played it yet.

That's how I feel about that game too and have also just relented and bought it. I'm excited about the supposed zelda-style gameplay but am not into the metal-styling.

19.99$ on Amazon.ca

Had been meaning to get it for a while now (ever since launch, actually. I had liked the demo, had kind of an Uncharted vibe to it).

But in the end it got relegated to the "waiting for a price drop" list.

I'm also considering Resonance of Fate (which is going for like 26$), but I'm not 100% sure if I'll get it yet.

Well youll be relieved to know that it plays a lot like zelda and mixes a little god of war in there.

i liked it, but gave up after the first temp......errr...castle. its as good as zelda, but i just wasnt in a zelda mood.

it seems the older i get the less patient i become to puzzles in games.

You might want to stick with it a little longer then.

The Twilight Cathedral ( I'm assuming this is what you meant when you said first "castle") is really not representative of the rest of the game.

I found that overall the game is much more like God of War than it is like Zelda. I'd say like 70/30.

Most of the puzzles are pretty damn simple, too. Don't judge the whole game based on Twilight Cathedral (which I thought wasn't that great of a dungeon).

It's like after finishing it they decided to scrap the whole Zelda-dungeon thing and go in a different direction but still kept it in the game

In a later area, I only realized that I was actually in a "dungeon" when I ran into the boss.

I haven't played God of War (well I played the GoW3 demo, but that's the extent of my exposure), but Darksiders was screaming "Zelda!" at me the whole time. I loved it. :D

Well, the similarities are there. But I played Darksiders looking for a Zelda-like experience and was kinda disappointed on that aspect.

The game is still amazing, it just wasn't quite what I was looking for at the time. It feels like they toned it down during development. The second half of the game isn't really like the beginning.

I've since started playing 3D Dot Game Heroes and THAT is a Zelda-like game. Hell, it's a full-on Zelda ripoff.

And since I haven't owned a Nintendo console since the 64 (except for the DS), I am loving the hell out of it!

That's funny, I played it looking for a Zelda-like experience too and got exactly what I wanted. No accounting for taste, I guess.
