Dragon-Age-Origins-(Ultimate-Edition).jpg

Why? It was 30 bucks, thats why.

I really dont know why. I barely finished Origins WITHOUT any expansions. Even then I skipped a lot of quests. Who the fuck has time to play this game and all of it's expansions? This might take me a while....

The good thing is that I traded DA Origins, LBP(Since i dled it from PSN for free), and New Vegas since i already beat it months ago and im sure ill rebuy that too once theres a GOTY.

Picked up Red Faction: Armageddon on Friday.

Well, if you played any game in the WipeOut series, it's like that, only HD. In other words, awesome. Dead Nation was a surprise for me, i thought it would be some crappy zombie bandwagon game, but it turned out to be fun. Has coop as well, so that's a bonus.

Yeah Dead Nation game has turned out to be quite fun. If you have a co-op buddy then definitely pick it up.

Cool, guess I'll be going with Dead Nation and Wipeout then. Thanks. :)

Man my gaming related expenses are getting nuts... The sad thing is. I know I'm skipping stuff because I can't remember. Fortunately I have nothing planned after Shadows of the Damned till Catherine and El Shaddai which come out on the same day.

Wowsers! Gonna be a busy gaming summer huh? I'm planning on getting Catherine, but still have some slight doubts about El Shaddai, what is it that appeals to you?

Bought it from Amazon for 19.99 with free shipping during one of their lightning deals. I did it while I was at work from my phone. Haha.

Irony: Buying from Amazon while working for one of their competitors.

Its hard NOT to buy from Amazon when their prices are so fantastic, yet its extremely hard to buy from Borders when at least a 30% coupon is necessary to get an average price.

I tend not to buy from Amazon as their prices are similar to other online retailers yet they still charge delivery (well, this really only applies to smaller things like dvd's / blu-rays, the big ticket items it's a fairly level playing field.

Normally Play is my go-to for films and Game for well, games (mostly cos of the loyalty points).

I actually had a chance to play the Japanese version of the game and tried the first demo months back. Honestly what I thought of the game was that it's more of an Okami meets Viewtiful joe with a different combat aesthetic. It's a Clover game through and through and you can see that as the game progresses. I'd recommend renting it if you're not sure. The game gets fun and some of the combat especially towards the later levels is pretty hard. I've not really finished the game or anything but just tried a few levels. It impressed me before just for the eye-candy but now it's impressed me for more reasons than that :)

Play.com used to be really good but then it's become a bit shit. I mean I did get my Infamous Hero edition on time but generally games arrive quite slow and it's not the best. But miles better than anything from thehut group (zavvi, asda direct, lovefilm store, the hut, sendit, iwoot, etc). I generally tend to use Shopto and Game (loyalty points) and occasionally Amazon too. I tend to have a business account with Amazon for Prime (delivery of work related stuff) so that's my excuse to use amazon when the prices are low. However barring a few exceptions you do get preorders on the Friday if you've ordered from them.

Honestly most online game retailers aren't the best for delivery lately. Game group is still decent and Shopto is as well.

Well Borders Customer Service trashed my online account (I haven't been able to login for weeks and they claim everything is hunky dory) so I haven't bought anything from them since. Too bad as they've had some nice coupons. I think they are having website issues and they can't afford to hire a developer to fix it so they just pretend it doesn't exist.

Oh! I just remembered why I actually hate Amazon. I knew I had a better reason for my boycott. Home Delivery Network. I think the term network is a lie. It is clearly one illiterate bumpkin on a moped with no sense of direction (let alone a map or GPS). Amazon consistently shipped my products on time, but they never arrived until at least a month later, after I had the village idiot responsible for delivery draw a map to my house on cartridge paper with crayons.

I asked them once where the driver was. They said he had phoned in to say he couldn't find the address. I said, "Have him call me and I'll direct him." They replied "Our drivers don't have phones on them."

Needless to say, I was deeply moved at HDN's policy of hiring those with learning difficulties to operate their vans and call centres.

In other news, think I might get inFamous 2 tonight via PSN... provided the price is not toooo extortionate. (I've found I rather like having games on my HDD).

Hermes is worse. I mean seriously the guy who delivers to my area is total dumbass - well one of them anyways and I've met him. They literally would leave an expensive package at your front door if you're not in and then drop a message saying they couldn't put it through your door. Fortunately I was working nearby so I found it in front of my door but really - I'd be annoyed if this was when I was living in not so nice neighbourhoods.

HDN was terrible but now they've got something that tells which hour your delivery would arrive which makes it helpful. Even Citilink which amazon still uses had issues when I was living in some places here. When it comes to couriers it really depends on where you live and as a result it's one of those things where ymmv. What you said about HDN is exactly what I've experienced with Hermes recently :/ - I believe it's down to where you live and that's really the courier firms fault. However DHL and TNT are pretty good almost always.

I broke down and picked up one of these:

M05176_4.jpg

For $10 it can't be that bad. I almost bought an adapter but my SNES pads are almost all trashed and replaced with new Chinese crap ones anyway. SNES pads just weren't as durable as their NES counterparts, I guess.

I'm thinking, besides the obvious emulation options, of playing through the Reccetear demo using it. Besides, it's probably the closest I'll get to my old favorite PC controller: the Gravis Gamepad.

Any game suggestions that can be played with this? :)

I brought home the Balls of Steel edition of Duke Nukem Forever yesterday and I payed $101.69 Canadian for all this extra shit: mini playing cards, poker chips, a pair of dice, postcards, a sticker, papercraft, a 5" bust, a lame comic, and a hardbound artbook. I pre-ordered this in full back in April and picked it up without checking the receipt. After reading the two books I will probably never touch or use these things again.

But I'm not disappointed. This purchase was a turning point where I've finally decided to make more intelligent purchases for games, special editions or no. I'm even going to sell some of the games I don't play or see myself playing again, which I never thought I would do. I was hoarding games and their extras under some false idea that they were special in some way, and not just because the box said so.

One of the included postcards features Duke with piles of cash. I am going to put that picture in my wallet to remind myself not to make stupid purchases ever again.

Picked up Starcraft II this weekend. I've been hesitant about it, but I'm actually glad I bought it. I've been itching for a good base building RTS similar to the older ones but with current tech. I was rather disappointed that Dawn of War II did away with base building. I didn't even touch C&C4.
