Luftwaffles
Picked up the Witcher 2 for a cool 30 bucks, plus Mirrors Edge and Alpha Protocol last week. I haven't played the first Witcher, but I've heard nothing but good things about the series and figured $30 was a pretty good price point. I'm probably gonna hold off on playing it until I finish a few games, though. Deus Ex: HR is almost done, and I've got a few more hours on GTAIV and a few more Spec Ops missions in MW2. It's also a really big download for my internet, so I'm not even sure if it'll get downloaded anytime soon. I definitely have a nasty tendency to start games and not finish them... Strangelove
Ive heard its supposed to be a mix of Wii and PS2. This version has the Wii and Gamecube cutscenes in real time, the PS2 didnt. Theres also a difference with the model of Leon himself. Some shit about his hair. They took out the extra fog and haze from the Wii version out too since it was a coverup for the sd graphics. And it has all the extras from the PS2 and Wii versions too. To be quite honest, I really cant tell. It looks good, but I personally didnt think the PS2 and Wii version were that dramatically different apart from the cutscenes. toxicitizen
Well the thing about RE4HD is that from what I understand (and I could be wrong) they only upped the resolution. I mean, if you're going to "HD-ify" a game, might as well go all the way and tweak the textures a bit to make sure they actually look good in HD, no? Anyway, just grabbed this Off to try it now. CorgiShinobi
Because you guys talked about it, I looked at it and got it too. So many times I "finish" a boss fight just to have some technicality kill me.

toxicitizen
So, I ended up doing just what I was thinking about yesterday. Picked this up on my way back from class The liquor store also happens to be on my way, so I grabbed a small bottle of rum because friday night usually means beer drinking night and I felt like mixing things up a bit! TheMightyEthan
I almost impulse-bought the Splinter Cell HD Trilogy, but the Walmart here didn't have it. Take that my impulses!
toxicitizen
Forgot to mention I grabbed Burnout Crash the other day. Quite the fun little game!
TheMightyEthan
Burnout Crash is an abomination. First I was pissed at Burnout Paradise for removing crash mode, as it was my favorite mode of the previous games. Then they finally make a game that's nothing but crash mode and it's not even fun. I remember the first time I ever played Burnout 1, I was playing crash mode and I said "They could make an entire game that was just this and I would fucking love it." Then they finally do make that game and somehow they ruin it. It makes me very sad. ;_; BURNOUT REVENGE FOREVER!

I can't believe they made a game only about crash mode and managed to make it suck.

Though admittedly I'm not a huge Burnout fan. My only experience with the last gen games was trying one of them (no idea which one) very briefly at my friend's place once. The only Burnout game I played extensively was Burnout Paradise this summer. So yeah, I guess we're just not coming from the same place here. TheMightyEthan
Don't worry FLD, I don't blame you. If anything people like you will just keep the Burnout series alive, and eventually maybe they'll make another good one...
toxicitizen
Actually, I find the amount of hate towards Crash rather surprising. Prior to mentioning it in this thread, all I had heard about it was positive, which is what made me want to try it out in the first place. Out of curiosity, why do you guys think it's so awful? Thorgi Duke of Frisbee
People don't like it because they were expecting another "proper" Burnout game. Crash looks pretty fun to me.
TheMightyEthan
Actually, that's not why I don't like it. Yeah, I was surprised and a little disappointed when they revealed the style of the game, but that was like a month before launch and I got over it by the time the game released. As for why I don't like the game, there's no one thing, it's everything about the play. It's just not fun. It's tedious. It's not about wreaking havoc, but about strategically arranging the cars to block the roads as efficiently as possible. It's to the point where it's a BAD THING when a car explodes and causes a chain reaction, because it decimates your road block. Instead of having one giant pile-up you end up with a million low-speed collisions. It manages to make causing the biggest wreck possible a slow-paced game. It makes me sad. You know, I played like that at first, but I quickly realized something was wrong because I wasn't racking up high scores. It's not about causing a huge pile-up or blocking the road completely. The most efficient way to rack up points is to cause crashes and then use those pile-ups to destroy everything around the intersection: buildings, gas station, houses, etc... So yeah, exploding will clear your roadblock, but if you do it right, it's going to rack you a fuckton of points when you send flaming cars flying into the surroundings and setting everything on fire.
