Strangelove
Ive yet to get to the rts part. But I LOVE the whole metal theme. Its ridiculous how well it's done. Its strange how a game like this had never been made before. I dont mind rts, but ive heard people say that not only was it unexpected, but it wasnt done very well either. Neither was the hack n slash part. I think the hack n slash is pretty good. Decent amount of upgrades and skills, it controls well enough. Nothing special, but its definitely not bad. Its just a very entertaining game. I will say that the side missions seem repetitive as hell. Im not going to bother doing them unless I need to. Strangelove
I also bought this off PSN today since I sold my disc copy a few weeks back. This is the first time ive seen a PS2 running on a PS3. It looks really good. Surprisingly good. Im wondering if this is because its 2D. Even playing on a PS2 with the best cables doesnt make games look as good as this. The only thing that sucks about it is that there are only 3 settings for the screen - normal, wide, or off. Off just blows it up to the size of your tv, but the top and bottom are cut off. Normal is the best one, but for some reason there is about an inch wide black bar on both top and bottom of the screen. So it could be a bit bigger if it would let me adjust it. Oh well.
toxicitizen
Probably because it's 2D, because most PS2 games I tried on my PS3 looked like shit when upscaled.
deanb
Hmm Brutal Legend, I'd forgotten about that, may have to put it on my LoveFilm list.
TheMightyEthan
Yeah, it's really good. I actually liked the RTS part, though if it's an RTS you're looking for there are better ones available.
MasterDex
I picked up Solider of Fortune 2 used from a pawn shop the other day. Haven't played it yet but at least I know it'll run on the laptop so it should keep me sane a little longer. RE Brutal Legend - I can understand why the general consumer wouldn't be aware at or before launch that it was part RTS but I remember about two, maybe three, months before release that Tim Shaffer came out and said as much and then came out after release and clarified things further. I'm surprised that there's still people in the know that feel they were decieved. Fantastic game though and Jack Black was the perfect choice for Schafer's comedic style. And fucking METAL! 'nuff said.

But I can't blame people for being annoyed by it. The people it really bothered might not have actually bought or played the game at all had they known it about it simply because they weren't interested in playing a game like that. Strangelove
I ended up paying $115 after credit and a coupon I had. Not bad.

TheFlyingGerbil
Wanted Tingle's game for ages, but it's not been available. Suddenly, a site I actually trust has 300 in stock, yay! I enjoyed the demo of Ghost trick. I hope it fills some sort of gap left by the stupidly priced Pheonix Wright games. trying to decide if I should get: Golden Sun: Dark Dawn and/or Wario! Master of Disguise. Anyone played either? Strangelove
It was $15 on Amazon. $20 on Glyde. Im hoping to get back into it. The last one I played was Firered, so Ive got a lot of catching up to do. Now to check the mailbox every day this week like a madman. toxicitizen
So I just started playing Diablo 2 for the first time yesterday and I've been enjoying it a lot so I decided to look up what the expansion added. Turns out that in addition to a fifth act and a bunch of items, it also doubles your storage space and adds the option to bump the resolution up to 800x600 from the original's 640x480 (it actually blows my mind that this and the original StarCraft run at a fixed - and very low - resolution and don't allow you to change it or even have any graphical settings whatsoever). That seems like something that would improve the experience quite a bit so Blizzard gets yet another 10$ from me. Actually, I'm just now realizing that I've spent almost 100$ this month on Blizzard games alone. Also, I am now totally buying Diablo 3 at launch. Yeah... Strangelove
I think Amazon is out of the Omega dlc, but theyre now offering $20 in credit. Which im using for RE Revelations next week. I also have Prime, so I should get this on thursday. $28 with prime shipping. I figured that even if I wait a month or 3, this is as cheap as Im going to get it. Damn Mario games.... TCP
I also just picked up XIII-2. I also got the pre-order bonus without actually preordering it, became I'm cool like that. Or uncool. Whatever.

deanb
All three for the grand total of £1.47. Thought I'd help GAME Group with their current financial difficulties.
Strangelove
WKC gets a lot of shit, but tis actually a decent game. The story is kind of not there and the graphics arent anything special, but the game has its charm. I guess its a Level 5 thing. Its just...pleasant to play. Its hard to describe. deanb
I had WKC2 on rental(which comes with WKC 1), same with Sabotuer. Quite enjoyed them.
Strangelove
Ive heard that WKC2 is basically a modified version of WKC1 with a few extra places added. Thats disappointing. When they said WKC1 was included in WKC2, I imagined all the places and people from WKC1 with something of equal size and length on top of that because of WKC2. But I dont think thats the case. Luftwaffles
Cheap, from the steam sale. Had my eye on it for a while, and figured 17 bucks was a pretty good price.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. I paid slightly more for it during the holiday sale and I wasn't. It's shallow but very, very fun action game. deanb
I paid £1 for it I really should use OnLive more.
TheMightyEthan
I really wish OnLive was playable around here. Though I have become convinced it's a regional thing. Though since the only problem is input lag I would totally buy a good turn-based game on it. CivRev? I'd be all over that shit.

If I can get 6 hours out of the campaign + whatever out of the horde mode and mp I'll be happy. Also picked up Dawn of War 1, because, hey, why not.
