TheFlyingGerbil
How come you're ditching the 360? Did you just get the PS3 Edited May 4, 2012 by TheFlyingGerbil
TCP
I got the PS3 about two years ago, at first it was only going to be to play exclusives. But after a shortwhile, I decided it was a much better console than the 360 (just my opinion people, calm down). I don't use online often, but I like having it there, so it's not something I'm willing to pay 60 dollars a year for. When I do go online, I find the online community to be a bit more mature (though, there are still butt holes on PS3). The system and store are laid out in a much more obvious manner. I don't like the Halo games, so outside of Fable 2 and Alan Wake, there's no exclusive retail games on the 360 that interest me. There has been some exclusive downloadable games, but they generally find their way to the PSN after awhile. I like being able to transfer my media easily onto the PS3. As I've mentioned before, I like the controller better. Not to mention some of my favorite games this gen, Uncharted, LittleBigPlanet, are Sony exclusives. I could keep going, but I'll just say the PS3 has clicked with me, a lot more than the 360 ever did. When I owned only a 360 and a Wii, I often found myself playing Wii games more often (granted, this was before I had an HD screen, and I was catching up on GCN games I missed). So now, the 360 sits there, collecting dust. When my girlfriend inevitably let's a TV into the bedroom, it'll probably end up a DVD/Netflix machine.
Faiblesse Des Sens
^Yep. Basically what happened with me, except it happened almost 2 years ago now for me. Shortly after the slim came out. Why should I pay $60 to play online occasionally? I'm not a big fan of the exclusives (the only games I've missed out on are Alan Wake which is on PC now and Shadow Complex) whereas I do enjoy the PS3 exclusives. Hell, Demon's Souls was my first PS3 game. In combination with my PC I really feel like I have the opportunity to play 95% of what I want to and I save money while doing it buy not paying for XBL. The PS3 also didn't require me to buy a wireless dongle just to go online and comes with rechargeable controllers... the extra costs of the 360 definitely put me off. CorgiShinobi
Kinda funny how while the 360 was the first 7th gen console, throughout the years there was always an add-on/upgrade for the console to adopt. Wi-Fi (G and N versions), HD-DVD, HDMI port, and a new hard drive for the Slim.
Faiblesse Des Sens
It's made MS a shitload of money because of the lower starting price. This is also why there's that rumored subscription service.

Strangelove
Â Jesus, I cant remember the least time I bought a game. its been a while. Anyways, ive been wanting this forever and it was finally at a price I thought was reasonable. Now to see how buggy it is. Hopefully its less or equally as buggy as Fallout 3. Hopefully less. TCP
To be honest, I never found New Vegas to be THAT buggy on PS3, even at release it only froze once on me, IIRC. I never saw how Fallout 3 was in comparison, but New Vegas was still light years ahead of Skyrim.
Luftwaffles
Â Bought and played through Ep1. It's actually really good. I'm not a fan of point and click adventures, but this feels really good as the logical evolution of them.

Trust me, I was surprised too. Telltale hasn't exactly had the best track record lately, but I really enjoyed this one, even though I didn't really expect to. The mechanics may still be take it or leave it, as it's really about the story, but I thought the story in this one was worlds better than Jurassic Park or BTTF. Even for someone who hasn't read the comics or watched the TV show.

Wait, almost sounds like you're saying BTTF was worse than Jurassic Park? I haven't played JP but I heard it's fucking awful and what I played of BTTF was fun. It's not a great game but it's awesome for a BTTF fan like me. I really need to play the whole thing, though.
TheMightyEthan
Idk, I'd consider myself a BttF fan but I just could not put up with that shit, it was awful. JP was really bad, but was more bearable for me.
Yantelope V2
Why does it seem like everyone instantly turned on Telltale games right after Jurassic Park came out? Was the game that bad?
Luftwaffles
Why does it seem like everyone instantly turned on Telltale games right after Jurassic Park came out? Was the game that bad? Â I don't think so, but they haven't made a straight point and click since, and that really is their bread and butter. I didn't particularly like JP, and I can't stand most point and clicks, so I'm a bit biased, but I think the issue is just that they're not really making the same games as they used to, in more than just quality. Battra92
Â I really wish there was a Genesis controller for the PS3 but I'm thinking some form of fightpad would work well. Â ANYway, I picked up this on GOG as my original disc is long lost. Â Sadly there's no voice acting in the GOG version (unless I'm doing something wrong) which is kind of a bummer. Sadly, short of buying another copy of the original and building a real DOS box, there's not much I can do.

TheMightyEthan
2TB HDD. Wasn't sure whether to put it here or the other thread, eventually I decided it's related enough to games.
Luftwaffles
Â Steam's Daily Deal, been looking to pick this one up for a while now.
Strangelove
Â It was 40 bucks at Gamestop. I hope I didnt overpay. I havent played an MK game since Deadly Alliance. Im not even really an MK fan. I just picked it up because I heard it had a good solid single player. Only other thing that looked interesting was KoF13, which was 30 bucks. I think KoF is ok personally. I like it, but i dont love it either. Edited May 20, 2012 by Strangelove
toxicitizen
Â 5 bucks on Steam yesterday. I've been thinking of selling a significant portion of my PS3 games lately. I like the idea of a games collection, but I've come to realize that they're needlessly taking up space and I probably won't touch most of them again, at least not anytime soon. The AC series wasn't among those I intended to sell but it was 5 bucks and I already owned the first one on Steam so I figured why the hell not. I'll just grab Brotherhood and Revelations later down the line, when they're equally cheap and now I have 4 more PS3 games to sell. Â But now that means I have to decide whether I stick to PS3 for ACIII or switch to PC. I already received my steelbook case, though. Wonder if ebgames.ca will let me cancel the pre-order anyway lol Edited May 20, 2012 by FLD
deanb
Good choice Spork. I should get back into it some more.
toxicitizen
Sins of a Solar Empire has intrigued me for the longest time but the whole no campaign thing really puts me off for a space strategy game like this. :/
