Luftwaffles
Took advantage of the Origin $20 voucher thing to pick up FIFA 12 for PC, then DCS on Steam because of the daily deal.
excel_excel
just bought it. The Giant bomb quick look solidified my decision to get it. Cheaper from the devs site too.
Thursday Next
Having finished ME1 I picked up ME2. Any recommendations with regard to DLC? I'll probably get all of it, but just curious if there are any "must have" items.
Hot Heart
Having finished ME1 I picked up ME2. Any recommendations with regard to DLC? I'll probably get all of it, but just curious if there are any "must have" items. I would say only Lair of the Shadow Broker is the real 'must-have'. The others are amusing in their own way, and Arrival does set up ME3, but could be ignored. I'd ignore any of the weapon and appearance packs, obviously. If you wanted an overview of the others: Overlord is an interesting little mission involving the geth, with a 'powerful' ending. Kasumi is an interesting enough character, and the mission is a fun, little diversion. I'm assuming you got Zaeed free with the game? If not, I'm not sure whether he's worth it. I found him amusing but I know some people dislike him. He is useful to have though. Edited October 15, 2012 by Hot Heart
TheMightyEthan
I'd pretty much agree with Hottie. Definitely get Lair of the Shadow Broker, and I would also recommend Arrival, though mostly for the plot setup for 3. In ME2 you can play after the end of the main story, so for Arrival I'd wait to decide until after you beat the game, and then if you want to see the story development buy it then. I think LotSB is also best played after the end of the main story. I think Kasumi and Zaeed are both worth getting, but they're definitely lower-priority than Arrival and LotSB. Same goes for Overlord and Firewalker. Firewalker is probably the weakest DLC overall, but the end of it is kinda interesting.
Hot Heart
I can't even remember the ending to Firewalker, but it's only worth playing if you got it free with the Cerberus Network.
TheMightyEthan
It ties in to a little side event in ME1 that I thought was cool. That's most of why I like it. But yeah, it's pretty weak overall.
Hot Heart
Oh, I think I remember now. Ties into ME1 and then has no real relevance to ME3.
TheMightyEthan
Yeah, well, that's what happens when you ditch the lead writer and then completely change the basic premise of the series that you've been building for two games. *Edit* - And that's probably enough said on that topic. Don't want to restart the whole ME3 argument. Edited October 15, 2012 by TheMightyEthan
Hot Heart
Well, it seems more like he bailed but that about sums it up. I'm currently working through Season Two of Battlestar Galactica and seeing some horrifying similarities with what Mass Effect became... deanb
Because I hate myself, I keep purchasing Bethesda games for PS3. Actually Oblivion on PS3 ain't bad. Was my first shot at the game on the summer I first got my PS3, got about 120hrs or so in it. No issues like there is with Skyrim (though I remember back when Oblivion first hit PC there was issues with it depending on your GPU. Made grass purple iirc)

toxicitizen
Yeah, I played something like 20+ hours of Oblivion on PS3 when I first got the system and nothing ever broke. Well, except for the leveling system, but that's just how the game is.
TheMightyEthan
Fall Indie Royale Bundle. I've had Oil Rush on my wishlist for a while now.
toxicitizen
Same for me only replace Oil Rush with To The Moon. I've also been interested in the Blackwell games for some time but the 4th one isn't exactly the best entry point into the series. Still kicking myself for not getting the Indie Royale that had the first three in it.
Faiblesse Des Sens
I pirated To the Moon but haven't played it so I'm all over this.
TheMightyEthan
To the Moon is the other one I'm mildly interested in, but Oil Rush is definitely the reason I got it. I'd been waiting for it to hit ~$10 on Steam.

TCP
Ok just purchased... Dead Space 2 Costume Quest (+DLC) Unfinished Swan Plants vs Zombies Mutant Blobs Attack For roughly 30 bones!
TheMightyEthan
I bought Dead Space 2 in last year's Halloween Steam sale and still haven't gotten around to playing it...
Strangelove
I still may get Plants Vs. Zombies. I was going to get Dokuro, but I heard its a really hard game. I dont have the patience for hard games anymore, so screw that.
TCP
Agreed! Fuck hard games. But Mutant Blobs Attack is just, wonderful. Great game for under 4 dollars.
Strangelove
Its a shame really because Dokuro looks amazing. Great art style. I wish it had a demo at least.
Faiblesse Des Sens
You don't have the patience for hard games? What kind of shit is that? I'd rather play a short, hard, rewarding game, than a longer, less rewarding, way easier game. Which is why I still haven't touched Skyrim.
