excel_excel
Tried the egg bagel, turned out really well, but my mug that I use isn't microwave friendly, I need a wider one really. But realllllly damn nice. Making it for my girl for her lunch tomorrow, she'll love it. Tried also the choc cake in a mug, I added all the dry ingredients but added the egg at the same time so it didn't come out perfectly but it was good for a first try. Will definitely try these again and MOAR.
deanb
If you got any more recipes with ingredients that average person probably has I'll be willing to try them. Hate recipes that look kinda neat, or are like "Quick 5 minute recipes" and are made from ingredients that require an epic trek around world looking for ingredients. My "Student Cookbook" is still my best cos it's all stuff you tend to have lying around a normal kitchen or easily grabable from a supermarket.
TheFlyingGerbil
I have a similar issue with those quick recipes which are only quick if you've already finely diced about half a dozen different ingredients and pre-weighed doze half a dozen more or you have to make half the ingredients beforehand eg a sauce so it takes you an hour to get to the point where the recipe actually starts.
Livingtarget
I posted these on Kotaku before, but here are some interesting game themed treats from when manuals used to be there for more than window decoration: http://imgur.com/a/0DLWv

Faiblesse Des Sens
No seriously, what is the usage? I understand that Doritos are full of preservatives but how long would that even last? This is seriously the most white trash thing I've seen in quite some time
TheMightyEthan
Maybe if it's ground finely enough you can't tell that it's stale?
Mal
Might as well try to make the flavor powder.
MasterDex
I imagine that as a garnish on certain foods, it'd be quite tasty. The mill is filled there but I see no reason why you'd have to fill it. You could always just put enough in to last until the BB date. If it's a halfway decent mill, it'll be airtight too so it wouldn't go stale too fast.
Mal
Stovetop popcorn. A few years ago, I made one by mixing oil and sugar together to make a sugar/oil mixture. I then add in the popcorn kernels, mix then cover. Once it start popping I would shake the pan/wok/pot around, on and off for about three minutes. In the end I would have some pretty tasty treat. Add salt to taste. Sadly I cannot find the exact recipe I used so my current eye balled batch is all odd in flavor. Mostly plain with some salt and sweet spots. The closest recipe I can find is this: http://www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,1847,132188-245194,00.html This recipe contrast with my own in that they add the sugar after the popcorn. I actually melt it and brown it up. Still, in the end it should only take you 5-10 minutes to cook up a batch. Cleaning might be a bitch though... deanb
Any good Tofu recipes? We want to give it a shot (since afaik it's vegetarian and other housemate is a half arsed vegetarian). There's a chinese supermarket in town too so all sorts of chinese good. Though we went last week and all we got was some super noodles(there was a really nice one that I don't know what it was but it was "Thai something") and...60 vegetable Spring Rolls cos we could. Also not really a recipe but worth sharing and it intrigued other housemates: Lorrymans Lunch. Basically two slices of toast, with beans on top then some grated cheese and one or two fried/poached eggs on top. Feel good food.
TheMightyEthan
What kind of beans and cheese?
deanb
Normally unless specified beans means baked beans. As for cheese, up to you. I prefer mature cheddar. Something you can't grate can't really be used.
