madbassman39
This game seems pretty neat to me. I just heard about it today, but maybe it could be good. I like the idea of making the orcs the good guys. Destructoid Link where I heard of it: http://www.destructoid.com/the-tables-have-turned-in-new-of-orcs-and-men-trailer-230877.phtml http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgwpeQjQ7a8 What do you all think of the limited info that has be presented? Cyber Rat
I don't think the Orcs are the good guys as much as protagonists in this one. At least they didn't seem that way. Looks it could be interesting in the same way Space Marine was: you're a big guy smashing smaller guys like a boss.
Waldorf and Statler
They had me at XBOX LIVE. Because there's no way my PC would be able to help this.
deanb
Got this via LoveFilm, been giving it a spin so here's some early impressions: It's a bit of a weird game. It's very hybrid all over the place. Sort of a stealth-brawler-turn-based-action-RPG. Mainly divided cleanly in the middle by the Orc and the Goblin you play as. Orc does most of the bashing while the goblin does the stealth assassinations n ranged attacks. So general gameplay is go into stealth as the goblin, scout ahead and try and assassinate as many guards as you can, once you fuck up and discovered dash back, swap to your orc and go into the normal battle, which is a sort of turn-based thing. You fire up R1 and L1 for defensive and offensive attacks in usual circle menu (you can assign L2 n R2 as auto-attacks of sort). You line up to 4 attacks and execute them while other character auto attacks. The Orc builds up Rage, which when full makes you go berserk and uncontrollable so you have to balance your attacks so as to not trigger that, and the goblin eats into "concentration" for his attacks. The battle system I have a feeling is probably likely to be how Lightning Returns might play out given the semi action/turn-based system. RPG wise there's a basic specs to upgrade, strength, agility, stamina and mind, with armour here n there to pick up and equip. No drops, just occasional sack/chest around and up to now one merchant and cos there's no cash you trade in old items to make "trade points" to pick up new equipment. I've found once getting just a few pieces of equipment has vastly increased my combat effectiveness. Mainly because leveling up only gives you one attribute point, yet most items are like +4 stamina n such, which at this stage can be a 40-80% boost in certain stats on the orc/goblin. oh you also get a skill point to upgrade or unlock skills, on upgrades you pick one of two options, such as 25% to stun, or 100% chance to bleed or whatever. Seems each skill only upgrades once. Also RPG wise you get Bioware style convo trees so you can be civil or aggressive or what not. Story is sort of standard fare, humans create empire, expanded into the southern lands, aka home of the greenskins. Mostly won so most orcs and goblins now in slums and living as slaves. You're a member of the "Blood Jaws" and part of a plan to assassinate the emperor. I'm only early days at the moment so yet to even get into their kingdom via "The Wall". The Goblin is like your guide. It's not the most stunning game, but it's enjoyable and keeping me interested, just getting to midnight so called it a night.
