Mister Jack
I'm fairly open minded, but I don't think that I will ever accept that someone is a squirrel trapped in a man's body.

Its brave of her, brave of anyone who acknowledges and lives openly.

TheFlyingGerbil
The horrible law in Arizona has been vetoed by the Governor. Sounds like she may have personally approved of it but had to bow to pressure/logic: Maybe we have reached a critical historical juncture. Struggles for human rights always begin with brave men and women who stand up, isolated, against the forces of oppression. But, in the United States, victory really arrives on the glorious day when the people with money decide discrimination is bad for business. Interesting and short article on the subject. The video linked in it is worth watching too - it is absolutely cringe-inducing.
TheRevanchist
The NFL said they would pull the Super Bowl. Nothing is more powerful than football, but at least we know Michael Sam won't be drafted by the Cardinals.
Mister Jack
It astounds me that such a law nearly came into existence in 2014 in the first place.
Mr. GOH!
It's a model law being pushed by anti-gay lobbyists. Laws similar to it will be pushed in other deep-red statehouses.
TheMightyEthan
A nearly identical law was passed in the Kansas House a week or two ago, but was defeated in the Senate. I think if you have both Kansas and Arizona defeating that law then it's probably dead in the water nation-wide.
Mister Jack
If there is anything good about this law, it's that it serves as a good bellwether to know which states shouldn't be states.
TheFlyingGerbil
Is he talking about lobbyists? I'm always reading about them in american politics, but am I understanding that right? - they actually thought it was a bad idea when they were voting for it but because no one being paid to do so told them it was bad, they voted for it anyway?
TheMightyEthan
Who the fuck knows what he's talking about. Probably nothing, just making word sounds to try to retcon why they didn't actually think through the bill they were proposing and passing. TheFlyingGerbil
This is something I would ignore if it was a one-off, but it has happened with several people so I'll ask in here for opinions. With more than one woman they've said their boyfriend would be uncomfortable if just the two of us went out together, and it's only to something like bingo or lunch, so not late nor somewhere that would be considered romantic for couples. To be perfectly honest, I think it's sad that they wouldn't trust their girlfriend with a straight man - it doesn't matter what he's like you should be able to trust your girlfriend. But I'm gay so what does the BF think is going to happen exactly?
Mal
Obviously you can't be 100% gay. A guy got to be slighty attracted to women! /s That is what I'm imagining is going through their heads. Kind of wish we were more like Dorne...
Mister Jack
I think in their boyfriends' minds, gay guys "get" women better than they do, which makes them a threat because they can more easily get in their pants because she's totally gonna be that one exception, brah. TheMightyEthan
Yeah, idk, that's weird. If I were going to go out to lunch or something with a woman I would tell my wife about it ahead of time just so it didn't seem like I was trying to keep it a secret, but I wouldn't like ask permission or think she'd be uncomfortable with it.
