Suck on it. YOU SUCK ON IT! Ground Zeroes will be 20 dollars for PS3/last gen and 30 on PS4/Xbone, releasing Spring 2014! Source.
toxicitizen
Looks like they finally made up their fucking mind. About fucking time.
TCP
So 60 dollars + 30 dollar prologue = 90 dollars. That's OK I suppose, Skyrim ended up being over 100 dollars but that had well over 100 hours of game play... If they can make something like that, then sure, but if Ground Zeroes can be beat in an hour and the Phantom Pain in 10 hours, that's not enough, IMHO. Mr. GOH!
Hilarious. The Season Pass DLC is released before the main game. Kojima, you're a genius!
toxicitizen
DLC? It's a separate game. As long as you can freely ignore GZ and still get a full experience with Phantom Pain, I don't have an issue with it. I don't think you should expect GZ to be too long, though. I would imagine a few hours (like 3-4, maybe 5) with cutscenes and subsequent playthrough would be very short if you skip the story. At least, that's how MGS usually is. If we compare to previous games, Tanker and Virtuous Mission can both be done in like 30mins if you know what you're doing and skip the cutscenes. That being said, while 20-30$ might seem steep for a short game, it's essentially a AAA game in terms of production values so I'm alright with the price, I think. Mister Jack
To be fair you could beat Metal Gear Rising in about 5 or 6 hours and that cost a full 60 bucks but people seemed to like it.
CorgiShinobi
Yeah, but there was replay value to it in the sense you could hop back in, take on the higher difficulties, and VR missions. Of course, only if you were into the game, so if not, then it was definitely a 5-8 hour experience. The DLC was cool, but a bit overpriced (even as a fan). Mister Jack
All the Metal Gears have had replay value, at least since the Solid series began.
Faiblesse Des Sens
^Yep. It's fun to take different approaches and try different difficulty settings. Plus, remember dogtags? They've always provided a lot to do.
CorgiShinobi
Sure there is, I was just getting at that you could more easily jump back into Revengence versus, say, Metal Gear Solid 4 where you're dedicating yourself to another extended campaign. I'm a fan of the series, but I'm not really one to jump right back in. Maybe give it some time and try a different approach. I know there are others who can see themselves dedicating 80-100 hours to getting all the different titles and achieving a quicker completion time. Mal
Should I gamble $20 on Revengence PC port? I'm half expecting that it will be a broken port...
TheMightyEthan
Just wait and see what people say after it's released.
toxicitizen
Yeah, there's really no reason to gamble on a pre-order here.
Mal
True that. I think I'm done with pre anything. If not for cost but because of time. I hope its good though. I looked with longing eyes during the original release...
Faiblesse Des Sens
Yeah, there's really no reason to gamble on a pre-order here. Save $10. Considering how long they've worked on it and the positive things Kojima has said about it I'm betting it's a solid port (1080p60fps) even if it ends up being light on options. CorgiShinobi
I can't imagine there being many options for the port, but you definitely want the game to run smooth. When you're slicing a Metal Gear Ray apart, you want those frames to pour like melted butter. RULES OF NATURE!
Strangelove
This is kind of bugging me, but do people really genuinely like the MGR soundtrack? I find it embarrassing and bland. If you want cheesy buttrock, there's tons better quality out there. I just figure its some form of irony.
toxicitizen
So, people are losing their shit over the PC port not supporting resolutions over 1080p? Yeah, that seems rational...
deanb
Well many folks have computers and monitors that go well in excess of 1080p, so it seems pretty rational to me to take issue when an artificial limit has been applied. No doubt it'll be worked around once the game comes out, but it's not really the players jobs to have to constantly fix a developers work. toxicitizen
Yeah, I get that, but still. It's not like it's 720p or anything. It's less than ideal for sure but hardly what I'd call shitty or broken. There's already a thread on neoGAF calling for Durante (the guy who made the fixes for Dark Souls and Deadly Premonition) to "fix" it, which seems kind of ridiculous to me.
