TheMightyEthan
Now Deus Ex is 40% off on GMG, so I'm gonna cancel my previous 25% off order... *Edit - With the 40% off it comes to $35.99, which is actually slightly cheaper even than cdkeys has it. And my original order was cancelled within about 10 minutes of filing the request. Edited August 18, 2016 by TheMightyEthan
deanb
How'd you word your refund request? It's a bit silly they don't automatically drop the cost if they do a pre-order price decrease like Amazon does.
TheMightyEthan
I just put "I'd like to cancel my Deus Ex Mankind Divided preorder" or something like that. It was pretty basic. If you select the refund category then it has a bunch of other boxes for the more specific info like order number and stuff.
deanb
I've put in a request. Also Iv'e an email off Amazon or "last chance to pre-order deus ex". It's for £42 on console :/ (GMG is £23 for PC)
Mr. GOH!
The extra $2 isn't worth the hassle of canceling and reordering. GMG usually offers deep discounts shortly before release, though, so I guess I should have waited. Oh well.
deanb
$2? Here's it's dropped by £6, that's ~$8 (oh gods I remember when that'd be more like $10)
TheMightyEthan
I think Goh got it on cdkeys. If I'd done that I wouldn't have bothered either, but the preorder I had was at $44.99, so dropping to $35.99 is pretty great. *Edit - I remember a time, admittedly like back in high school, where for simplicity's sake I just assumed £1 = $2 and it was close enough to work. Mr. GOH!
I got it for $36.95 on cdkeys. So not even $2 more expensive. I remember a time when I assume 1 pound was about 4 or 5 dollars. Can't wait until the pound drops lower than a dollar; I'll plan my trip to Scotland then! Of course, that assumes Scotland hasn't done the right thing and seceded the UK and joined the EU. Edited August 18, 2016 by Mr. GOH! TheMightyEthan
I guess. There was no indication it was a temporary price though.
TheFlyingGerbil
Asda have PlayStation TVs for £11 in store if you can find one in stock -i imagine they'll sell out quite quickly but may be worth having a look if you're near one
deanb
Our local is an Asda but it's only a small one (was a Netto back in the day, it'd likely be an Aldi/Lidl if it wasn't an Asda. Our closest big one(that'll have an electronics section) is an hour away other side of the city centre, but tbh £11 for what'd be a pretty kick ass xmas present for a young un isn't too bad. Especially if it turns out you can homebrew em and put like NES stuff on it too (Then my dad'd be stoked too). Hmm. I'll be in city centre Monday, so it'd only be an extra half hour to walk. I'll check online Monday morning n see.
TheFlyingGerbil
Tesco are doing 2 pre orders for £80, but you can combine it with a code for£10 off, so 2 pre orders for£35 each . CorgiShinobi
If you haven't for Doom yet, GameStop has Doom for $19.99 on all platforms. For PC, it's for the physical copy, not download. http://www.gamestop.com/browse?nav=16k-3-doom,28zu0,133c-4f-162 I personally price matched elsewhere. Yesterday Amazon reps were telling people they weren't going to price match, but today both PS4 and Xbone have been reduced to $19.99. PC has not been in either format. deanb
Pay What You Want for Game Maker Pro and a bunch of games including source code. Pay more for more games and source code. Pretty good deal https://www.humblebundle.com/gamemaker-bundle I've dabbled in Game Maker and it's pretty decent even if not much of a coder. My only beef was the tutorial I was following my game didn't work and I couldn't work out why, there was no debug issues it just stopped working. I should get back into it though cos it was pretty quick to go from having nothing to something. It's been used in a lot of the indie titles you might have enjoyed in the past (Hotline Miami a big one, Gunpoint another).
Saturnine Tenshi
Has anyone come by any decent deals on Civ VI by chance? Isthereanydeal doesn't suggest there are any, but I know it ain't perfect.
Mr. GOH!
http://www.cdkeys.com/pc/games/sid-meiers-civilization-vi-6-pc-steam Dunno if $19.50 off is decent enough for you. TheMightyEthan
That's where I'll probably end up getting it from, unless GMG or something comes out with some amazing deal.
Mr. GOH!
If GMG comes out with a deal, cdkeys usually undercuts by a few bucks. Just be warned that you may not get your Steam code until very shortly before release. Usually it's been about 24-48 hours before the Steam unlock, so it may not be the best option if you have a slow connection and want to preload. TheMightyEthan
Based on DXMD I can practically download it as fast as it unlocks the preload.
Mr. GOH!
Yeah, me too. I'm not gonna preload any more.
Saturnine Tenshi
TYVM, GOH. I also dropped by the Facebook page for an extra 5% off. Ended up getting two copies for $99 CAD. All things considered, that's a steal. Would've set me back $160 at retail.
