deanb
War in the North is £3, which is worth a shot with. I played it on PS3 as a rental, and I'd say my only major issue with it was it's built to be co-op. So I'd say if you're getting it try and get at least one other person to get it with you. I like that it has your usual LotR trope characters but puts them in the North to keep them mostly out the way of the regular LotR narrative (unlike say Third Age where you play..that other fellowship). Dragons Dogma is also worth grabbing if you're not currently invested in another RPG (which I feel most of us currently are atm). I can't entirely remember if it's just naturally through Steam or you need to link some otherway but you can totally use my pawn if you get it. She's a monster. Mad Max is also in the £3 range too, and I'd also say worth a gander. Especially if you liked Fury Road (which I guess is "if you watched Fury Road" cos who doesn't like Fury Road?) S-E section has Sleeping Dogs which was a surprise hit and pretty good. I hear they're making a movie of it. Which'll be interesting given there's some bits in the later game that I'd struggle to see making it into main stream film release. namely your friend getting disembowled and you being tortured with a drill to the kneecap Oh and all the Lego games are dirt cheap. Lego Marvel Super Heroes is my strong recommendation. It's the Avengers film we can't get cos of licensing. It's also really holding its price on the consoles so I'd say that's a good indicator of quality. I'd avoid the LotR (and presumably Hobbit too) given they're kinda sucky RPG-elements to them that I feel doesn't entirely work.

deanb
Saint's Row 2 is currently free on GOG, and the others are available through GOG Connect if you've got them on Steam.

deanb
If you're wanting some TinyBuild keys for cheap they're currently in a humblebundle. https://www.humblebundle.com/tinybuild-bundle Also this months pre-unlock (or whatever it is) for the Humble Monthly is Stellaris which is otherwise normally £30 so that's not too shabby. Might grab it myself. Got a few weeks to think on it at least.
deanb
Alan Wake will be pulled from stores next week due to licensing stuff so it's currently 90% off on most stores.
deanb
Starpoint Gemini 2 is currently free to own until tomorrowhttp://store.steampowered.com/app/236150/Starpoint_Gemini_2/ Kind of Freelander-ery. I've put a fair few hours into it, quite liked it. There's like a story to follow, or just kind of "radiant AI" type auto-generated quests to take on pirates and shuttle cargo about n such. Your usual stuff with slots to loadout, long warp travel, factions to please n piss off n so on. Does seem that making it free has led to a drop in review rating mind :/ But given this is how one of the reviews wraps up: "The above were probably ok in 2013, but not in 2017." Well it's from 2014 sooo, yeah if you don't go in expecting a space game from several years ago to be super stellar and matching the likes of Star Citizen you should be good. It's fucking free. Eleven
I think this has been the best deal for a PS+ in a long time? I'm waiting for my code, got an email from the seller that they're sending it digitally in 48 hours. Seems to be legit, as they did a previous deal according to the thread. Still not as good as the $29.99 deal like 4-5 years ago.

deanb
EA Access (for Xbone) and Origin Play (for PC) going free for the next week. They also said about trials of games on PS4 (less structured there given the lack of EA access type scheme).
deanb
So watching a video on "games of E3 past that didn't happen" (I guess inspired by BGE2 which has been announced a few times now) it mentioned "Phantom Dust". Anywho turns out that the original Xbox game (that'd be Xbox 1 or whatever the fuck it's called) is ported to Windows 10 n free on the Store. So I guess if you're up for free games (and the premise seems interesting) then there's something to dive into?

TheMightyEthan
Shadow of Mordor is $4 on Steam. I'm tempted even though I know I'd probably never play it again. *Edit - Apparently they're also adding an update called Nemesis Forge to let you import your worst Nemeses and strongest allies into Shadow of War. So that settles it, buying this again now.

deanb
Final Fantasy games half-price over at HiBhttps://www.humblebundle.com/store/promo/final-fantasy-weekend I'll obviously recommend FFIX, but FFX is good for £10 (especially as it's two games for that price). I've not completed it, but found Last Remnant intriguing and might scratch an itch for some folks. Stacking is also 80%off for a pretty cheap game that I found kinda charming and unique, albeit a bit short (but for the price of a steak bake can't really complain)https://www.humblebundle.com/store/stacking http://store.steampowered.com/app/115110/Stacking/ Same with Costume Questhttp://store.steampowered.com/app/115100/Costume_Quest/ A great purchase for younger relatives as a "my first JRPG". You might as well get this very weird bundle thoughhttp://store.steampowered.com/sub/53813/ (weird in that it makes Costume Quest 2 much much cheaper than if you just got CQ2 on its own) Android has some decent deals too:Her Story is ~50% offhttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.MrSamBarlow.HerStoryGame Duck Tales: Remastered is ~70% offhttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.disney.ducktalesremastered_goo Doom & Destiny (and Advanced) are also more than half offhttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hb.doom_and_destiny https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hb.doom_and_destiny_advanced (though no idea on the differences and their description doesn't clue me in) And Infinity Loop Premium is currently free. I've got this, it's not exactly a challenging puzzle but kids find it amusing since it's easy enough and usually the puzzle resolves into some familiar shapehttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.funlab.looppremium btw this site is quite overwhelming but otherwise kinda useful for finding PC game deals across a large variety of platforms (and if you have a public profile you can import your Steam games and wishlist, and on a couple other platforms too though to varying degrees of fiddlyness)https://isthereanydeal.com/#/
