TheMightyEthan
Yeah, I keep thinking it's a fall title.
Faiblesse Des Sens
Can't believe this fucking game is coming out next week, it had some decent hype at E3 but Capcom has done an awful job at keeping that momentum going. Yeah, this about sums it up whenever I see it mentioned and that it's actually coming out. @TheFlyingGerbil you probably have it confused with WatchDogs. Which is understandable. Waldorf and Statler
Hey fine by me, this is the first Capcom game I'm genuinely looking forward to in a while.
TCP
I don't know, the silence from Capcom isn't really inspiring me with confidence for this game. We shall see.
Hot Heart
I'll wait until the Remember Me: Total Recall edition.
Strangelove
It does look interesting, but Im doubting if its good. For my money, Capcom hasnt released a truly terrible game in the last few years, disappointing? Underwhelming? Mediocre? Sure. But not a terrible game. Even Operation Raccoon City has it's fans. We'll see how this turns out since I like to support almost any game with a female protagonist. Especially when its an action brawler type game. CorgiShinobi
I do want to get the game, but I think I'll wait for it when I finish my PC. Much like DmC, I get the feeling that Remember Me will, visually and techically speaking, run fantastic on PC. Not to mention my money is tied up with Last of Us for June. It's the only game I'm going to be playing for a while.
TheMightyEthan
This is the first Capcom game I've been even remotely interested in in a long time.
Hot Heart
Watched some things, since it's out very soon. The game looks very cool, though the gameplay does not. toxicitizen
Yeah, I think the lack of marketing so close to release is because Capcom know they might have a stinker on their hands. I was excited for it and am still at the very least intrigued by it, but my excitement died down after I saw this video a couple weeks ago. Waldorf and Statler
that's a shame. I'll read reviews to see if the story is decent because if it is that's enough to carry a meh game for me
TheMightyEthan
I just wish it weren't so combat-oriented. I would have preferred something that you could ghost, stealthing around and hacking your target's memory and whatnot, and with this game that does not sound possible. Waldorf and Statler
Like the video and FLD stated, this is probably THE reason Capcom has been so quiet about it. Hopefully reviews come around sunday or early monday as that'll be my decision whether to rent it or not.
toxicitizen
Yeah, having so much combat seems like an odd choice. It kinda tells me that they weren't entirely confident in their concept and didn't want to make it the game's entire focus. Stealth definitely seems like it would've been a better fit. Waldorf and Statler
I would've been happy with the combat if it wasn't the focus. Like Sleeping Dogs. The combat was fantastic but only in short bursts. I only started to get really pissed with that game when I played the 5 waves of enemies karate challenges. CorgiShinobi
Eh, I guess I wouldn't have to spend "teh monies" then if this turns out to be a stinker. I really wanted it to be awesome, but it seems like there's quite a bit to the game that's been kept hush-hush.
Eleven
I would've been happy with the combat if it wasn't the focus. Like Sleeping Dogs. The combat was fantastic but only in short bursts. I only started to get really pissed with that game when I played the 5 waves of enemies karate challenges. Those were my favorite parts of the game! I love how Wei chains moves so smoothly. I kept repeating those challenges. It's like in Arkham where I run around just trying to get into situations with more than 5 enemies. It doesn't look like the combat here would be like that though. Or the guy just really sucked in chaining moves together, in that video above.
Waldorf and Statler
those were fun until the big guys that hug you appeared. they broke the flow out of the combat since you basically have to pinpoint them since they do those grab moves. deanb
Gotta say, when they came out saying the game was declined by several publishers already I kinda figured it'd likely be a bit of a stinker. (cos like hell is the only reason other publishers would decline it being that it has a female protagonist).
Waldorf and Statler
Ughhhhhh I was so excited for a sci-fi game. Like I mentioned I'll read reviews and see if the story is at least ok.
toxicitizen
IGN rated it as mediocre with a 5.9 http://ca.ign.com/articles/2013/06/02/remember-me-review I'm still waiting for more reviews but so far I'm not too surprised. Oh well, too bad. If other reviews are slightly better, I might grab it when it's on sale for ~5$. Edited June 3, 2013 by FLD
TheMightyEthan
5.9 isn't mediocre, that's godawful. Anything below 7 is bad, unless IGN doesn't use the inflated scores other sites do. Also, why isn't there an embargo?
CorgiShinobi
Eh, I like to think of game scores like test scores. Anything 6.0-6.9 is worth a rental if you're a fan of the material, and if you have the time between the good to excellent games out. A 5.9, for this kind of game, now that's bad. Anything below a 5.0 I wouldn't let my console touch. You're basically allowing yourself to have a bad time, if absolutely ruining your day with either frustration or sheer shock at how a game of such poor design could be brought into this world. TCP
At this point, even for 5 dollars I don't think "mediocre" games are worth the time to play them when there's significantly better games I've yet to play. So unless Capcom wants me to pay me to play, Remember Me can go to hell.
toxicitizen
Anything below 7 is bad, unless IGN doesn't use the inflated scores other sites do. Sigh... and that kind of attitude is exactly why we have inflated scores in the first place. Seriously, anything below 7 is bad? What the hell? It's not like a numerical score alone means much... Also, why isn't there an embargo? They might've had an exclusive? Or other outlets weren't in a hurry to review, maybe. Anyway, here's another one. Not quite as negative but still far from glowing.
