Mister Jack
Isn't the Lich coming back at the end of this current season?
Waldorf and Statler
he's supposed to. Next episode deals with the fire kingdom [cross fingers for FP and Finn moments] and then we have one about muscle princess I believe. Then the Lich. edit: actually two more episodes, one dealing with a reign of gunthers, then the lich Edited September 11, 2012 by Waldorf And Statler
TheRevanchist
The best thing about this show for me is Lumpy SpacePrincess When LSP and Turtle Princess were hanging out together, they cracked me up with their "Hey, girl!". So, I went out looking for that ringtone, but was too lazy to design it myself. I checked today, and found it! Yeah! This is going to be so annoying after a while. Little Pirate
My vote is on Flame Princess. Look how happy Finn is around her, and she's just as gushy around him in return. Princess Bubblegum shot him down so many times, and like you said, in such a dismissive manner that I felt pretty bad for Finn. I just hope they find a way to overcome her whole devastating reaction to emotion thing.
Waldorf and Statler
I'm sure they will. But from what I've seen of the show, the most likely outcome of this whole relationship is that they'll break up for something and then there's a bunch of episodes before they show her again. They know how much people like their relationship so adding drama might be a touch to keep them watching. I hope they don't as Finn has gone through enough and I don't need this show to turn into freaking Berserk when it comes to the romance. Mister Jack
Flame Princess didn't get as much screentime as I was hoping for in this episode but they do seem to be setting up a bigger payoff later on in the show. That's what it seemed like to me, anyway.
Waldorf and Statler
Yeah. As I guessed all her problems aren't solved just yet. It's nice to know that her father at least acknowledges she can become good, even if he's gonna do his best effort to make it not happen. I was hoping she would get more screentime as this means she probably won't show up again until The Lich at the earliest. And even then I doubt she'll show up there. Mister Jack
So, crazy theory time. I'm probably completely wrong but this thread wouldn't have much of a point if you couldn't speculate about the show so here we go. Flame King seemed to imply that the inherent nature of the flame people is to be evil, and that there were repercussions if they ever acted anything BUT evil. Despite what he said, I think FP still teeters toward chaotic neutral, but if she ever crosses that line over into neutral good she'll end up losing her flame and becoming a different kind of princess entirely. I could see this going one of two ways. 1) Flame Princess becomes something safe and tangible like...I dunno...Coal Princess. That's not a very well thought-out guess, I'm just using it as an example. Point is, Finn will be able to make physical contact with her without hurting himself, which would allow their relationship to strengthen. 2) She becomes an INtangible element, for example Smoke Princess. In such a state, the barrier of physical contact would become insurmountable and although Finn would probably insist he wants to make it work somehow, Flame Princess/Smoke Princess breaks it off because she doesn't want him to waste his life pursuing a relationship where he'll never even be able to experience holding her hand. If I'm anywhere close, I gotta say I'd prefer the first one. Finn has suffered enough.
Waldorf and Statler
I don't think they'd change elements due to evil/good nature. What I read from this, which others are reading is Fire elementals are evil but Finn can turn her good. He said it wasn't impossible and since he admitted it, it means it's not aything unheard of, unlike a change of element. The big part of PB's transformation was due to her being older than Finn. Also the biggest part of this was evil controlling dads. Look at Marceline. She's the heir to the underworld/hell so she's technically supposed to eventually go evil yet she's fighting it and is genuinely a nice girl. I think it's the same case with Flame Princess. She might get an episode where she does something somewhat evil and Finn convinces her to go good. I don't think the second option of yours is likely either since the main reason she was introduced was due to PB being older than Finn so not working as a love interest. If they removed this one too it'd just be mean
Mister Jack
Well, Flame King's exact words were "There'd be penalties to her experience if she acted out of alignment" which makes me think that being good would cause SOMETHING to happen, like how being kissed almost destroyed the planet. CorgiShinobi
Gonna bring this up, but you know how the Ice King use to be human? The impression I get from some of the "people" and creatures of the show is that perhaps they can become human if they lose their power. Ice King was transformed by the crown, and he does lose his powers when he isn't wearing it. Maybe when a flame-person isn't acting "evil," their flame dies out and they revert into a human state. Mister Jack
Interesting theory, although it's been established that even if the Ice King loses his powers without the crown on, he's still affected by its crazy mumbo jumbo. Waldorf and Statler
The Adventure Time wikia makes a good point: In the description of her relationship with her father, it basically states he believes her to be evil since that's all he knows of the fire people. Treacherous/evil individuals who betray each other 24/7. He never really got to know his daughter. I mean he put her in what is basically a jail cell due to being warned by PB about what she can do. He admitted he could see her becoming good because let's be honest, as far as he has seen from his daughter [which isn't much] she doesn't seem evil, just passionate. If she were evil, they would've made it more obvious when she left the fire kingdom for the first time. She basically snapped at Finn, and decided to make her own fire kingdom. This is the world she grew up in, a world of fire. She doesn't know better (hence the chaotic neutral comment by Finn) so she does as her environment taught her. There's good and girlish qualities from her seeing how calm and relaxed she is with Finn. It's similar to how Marceline started out, basically a neutral character who had fun in her own vampire ways since that's all she knew. Marceline and FP both had horrible parents, were both raised in non-good environments but have/had the possibility to leave that behind to do as they please, which in this case is turn good. FP's dad wants her to be evil because again, that's all he knows of the Fire people and it'd be embarassing for his daughter to be good
Mister Jack
Did anyone catch the new episode tonight? It really shed a lot of light on Marceline and the Ice King and was actually rather touching at some points.
Waldorf and Statler
Yeah just saw it. It was really sad and touching, especially after I read through the wikia what I had just seen. Beautiful episode.
CorgiShinobi
Yep, caught it. Not much else was shown about Marceline given that in her memories we saw she lived during the wars, but her relationship to Ice King was different from most anything in Adventure Time. They really got me because I didn't know where the story was leading. I still think my theory that Simon could possibly return to normal if the crown was destroyed holds true, but who would know the exact consequences because it's the only thing keeping him alive. Of course, now we see there's a connection between Ice King/Simon and the Enchiridion and not just with the Lich King. EDIT: And Hambo, and now we know. Waldorf and Statler
Atomsk: I'm assuming Simon salvaged/found the book and eventually left it with someone like Billy before turning crazy
CorgiShinobi
Reading the wikia, supposedly the clipping said he discovered. I'm really wondering if Simon did begin the events of the world turning to Ooo and other magical realms (as Ooo is merely one island/continent). Mister Jack
Next week's episode synopsis suggests that we're gonna get a big reveal regarding the history of Ooo.
CorgiShinobi
Looking through the episodes list and, I have to wonder, does it bug anyone else to think that we're "technically" about to have a fifth season for a series that's only two and a half years old? I mean, I guess that's what we'll get with series having a 15-minute structure.
Mister Jack
Yeah I actually didn't realize for a while that the show is technically 11 minutes long. I mean, until you've watched it a while you think otherwise because they show you two, but the second one is always a rerun.
