Bouchart
I generally don't like when major characters have amnesia. It's lazy storytelling.
ADIRTYWINDOW
The over sexualized female protagonist. Can we just have a realistic depiction of a woman in armor. I'm also tired of the unrealistic proportions of the breasts and butt. I mean, I like them as much as the next guy but they are always overkill. The main character, Maya, is fairly realistic. Except the blue hair of course.
StrifeROKs
I've never notice video game females proportions to be skewed. Hmmm.... This requires research!

RadiantViper
You gotta have blue hair. Hahaha, I just rewatched that a week ago so I totally read that in his voice
Mister Jack
Yeah, long load times are something that devs should be finding workarounds for, or at least tricks to disguise it. If nothing else, give us something to mess around with on the loading screens.
Heartless
I like how it is in God of War 3 or Uncharted 2 where the game is seamless once it loads up. More games like that would be sweet.

Mister Jack
I hate it when games with collectibles or side missions give you no special reward for 100%. No special ending, no ultimate item, nothing. It's just "Hey, you got them all? Nice job. Now fuck off."
Commander Shepard
IN THE YEAR 20XX, WAR WAS BEGINNING
Mister Jack
I don't get why anyone ever felt the need for the XX thing at all. Just say 2550 or something. By the time that year comes around, nobody will even give a shit that your prediction for the future was wrong.
Yantelope
Now as a result of Strongbad Stinkoman I always read 20XX as twenty xty x! Load times don't count as a trope but it is nice when they let you play galaga while the game is loading. Also, videogame males are every bit as skewed as videogame females. I do think it's funny that wearing a helmet virtually guarantees your character's death unless that helmet is superglued on (the Master Chief exception). Heartless
Load times aren't really a trope because developers don't intentionally design games to have long load times. They're annoying, but they're just a limitation of existing technology. I know, I just wanted to bitch about them somewhere. They are...just the worst. The worst. Yantelope
Load times don't bother me so much these days because I lived through 1st generation PSX games. Those were just horrid. MS actually has a lot of rules about loading for games that are licensed on the Xbox. All load screens have to refresh every so often, they have to include text on them like hints or tutorials, they can only last so long if they aren't interactive etc.
Pheermee
I guess this could be directed towards any unnecessary minigame in a game, really. Come to think of it, Blitzball was the worst possible minigame ever to exist in interactive entertainment and whoever designed it should be put into a separate circle of Hell. Fixed that for ya. I liked blitzball...
Mr. GOH!
The trope that every Japanese RPG requires at least two characters to be of high school age or younger. Teenagers are terrible human beings and I should know; I was one. I don't need or want my RPG's to revolve around the little shits. Oh, and whatever tropes Vanille and Hope in FFXIII embody need to die in a fucking towering inferno.
Yantelope
I'm gonna repost this for the 100th time just to cover JRPGs completely. http://project-apollo.net/text/rpg.html Oh, and whatever tropes Vanille and Hope in FFXIII embody need to die in a fucking towering inferno. Mister Jack
This is really annoying. Fortunately most games have wised up about it by now, but you still get it every now and then.
HotChops
OMG, I can't believe I didn't think of this one sooner: Mounted gun segments! You know, when you're on a mounted minigun or grenade launcher and you're tasked with mowing down an endless stream of enemies. They're everywhere nowadays, even in Red Dead Redemption. Mr. McFluffermutton
Ramirez, use your laser designator to call in artillery on those vehicles! Ramirez, take down that chopper! Ramirez, get that briefcase! Ramirez, clip my toe nails! Ramirez, get on that sniper rifle! Ramirez, get in the chopper! Ramirez, get on the minigun! Good job, Ramirez.
