deanb
1,000,000 on Android. It was the Amazon Free App other day. I've maybe put a bit too many hours into it the past few days. It's a pretty neat game, ticks most the boxes of simple gameplay, quick to pick up n learn. "quests/goals" to complete as you advance, and things to upgrade. MetalCaveman
Lollipop Chainsaw, some parts were fun, others were annoying, overall though, I liked it.

Mr. GOH!
Crusader Kings 2. Started as the Duke of Firenze in 1066, ended up as Holy Roman Emperor in 1453 with over 100k score. Just in time for the Old Gods to drop.
Alex Heat
Finally got around to playing and beating Double Dragon Neon. I think it really hit all the right notes in both tone and presentation.

Faiblesse Des Sens
Finally got around to playing and beating Double Dragon Neon. I think it really hit all the right notes in both tone and presentation. I just can't get past how clunky the gameplay is.
Alex Heat
There was a couple things about the gameplay that bugged me. The whole 'dodge via ducking' thing was one of them. I'd have liked both a dodge and a block button (like Super Double Dragon) as it sure seemed like there was a lot of shit you couldn't dodge. Overall though, I liked it. Just in time for the Old Gods to drop. It seems like I've been seeing you play a lot on Steam. Was that all a single game? How long is a game on average? Longer than Civ? I've heard great things about the game and I'm curious but that learning curve seems so daunting.

TheFlyingGerbil
I've played The Cave as much as I'm going to. I completed it with all the characters, so I could do all the puzzles but not bothered with the good/bad ending for each as that is just too much of the game for me. I think they should have added in a way to bypass at least the generic puzzles (Zoo, Mine, Island) after the first playthrough because man, did it get repetitive. I liked it well enough though despite the fact there was far too much jumping around and too many dead ends.
toxicitizen
Dishonored: Knife of Dunwall. Was too busy with school when it first came out and then I kinda forgot about it until last night. Kinda short but the gameplay is as brilliant as ever. Looking forward to the next one.
TheFlyingGerbil
I finished three games today The Cave as I already mentioned above, and Welcome Park (is that classed as a game?) by finally finishing that bloomin' 15 piece slide puzzle in 41s which I was quite pleased with. I also finished Sly 3. I enjoyed it and will probably get 4 at some point, though I haven't actually read if it's any good or not. I had a go at a couple of the challenges, but since I found them pretty tricky even in the first chapter I guess this is going to be the first Sly game I don't get a platinum on Did anyone complete all the challenges? Do they get progressively harder or is a mix all the way through?
Mr. GOH!
Crusader Kings 2. Started as the Duke of Firenze in 1066, ended up as Holy Roman Emperor in 1453 with over 100k score. I've heard great things about the game and I'm curious but that learning curve seems so daunting. A lot of that is not actual playtime; I routinely open it up to the dialog box asking which mods I want to load and then get busy with something else and it just sits there all day long, especially if I plan to play a few minutes before work and leave it on when I leave. That said, I've been playing it a whole lot. And I've played maybe four or five serious games, among maybe a dozen or so games that went nowhere after an hour or two. A single game can last much longer than Civ, Or shorter; there's a hard ending date, but a flexible start date, so if you start in the 1300's, as opposed to the the 1000's, the game will end much more quickly. Many players also set goals (unite Britannia, survive the Mongol invasions, and so on), and the game 'ends' when the goal is met or becomes impossible to meet. Those sorts of games don't last as long as the grand campaign from 867-1453. It's also a real time with pause game, so you can speed up or slow down the speed and make it last longer. toxicitizen
Oh, it's real-time? Thought it was turn-based. I'd probably be terrible at it, then. :/ Anyway, played Deus Ex: Human Revolution - The Missing Link today. It's Deus Ex so it was pretty damn good. It was kinda weird to play it on its own, though, especially since it's been so long since I've played the main game. I'm still confused as to why it's a completely separate game on Steam, too. I'm pretty sure the console version is accessed from the main game's menu and the PC version has some DLC that works normally through Steam so it's kind of weird that this one is completely separate. Anyway, played it just in time as it seems we're getting a Deus Ex announcement this week. Edited June 4, 2013 by FLD
TheMightyEthan
Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Really really enjoyed it, except for the boss fights. I know, I'm a rebel.
CorgiShinobi
I beat Resident Evil: Revelations (PS3) last night, and I've been mulling it over on my experience. I think if you're into Resident Evil and enjoy a good action-horror kind of game, it's fun and worth a nice $30 experience. Full price ($50) if you're going to jump into any online. It has great character design, though the human cast could use work. It really does have a horror element to it, and managed to creep me out outside of jump scares. There were some good boss battles too, especially the final boss. It was challenging, satisfying, and utilized all of the games core mechanics. Now since this is Capcom, you do have a strong "DLC" presence. I'm sure there was a weapon or two I missed, but even so your arsenal is rather small. You do get a variety of weapon parts to adjust damage, and etc. Point is, there have been many times where Capcom urges you to unlock other weapons either from the Resident Evil website or buying DLC. Considering it's "catalog data," I'm not sure how much of it you download and what's on disc.

Hot Heart
Alpha Protocol. Overall, I really enjoyed it. It's got a real cool vibe to it, and it's great seeing all the little choices and outcomes branch off into other things (even the order you approach missions can have an effect). One of the most satisfying things was seeing my guy win over one of the 'villains' at the end by reciting my mission outcomes, like Sherlock Holmes revealing the final piece to the puzzle. What is especially cool is that there are so many hidden backstories and secret connections that rely on missions, relationships and purchasing intel so you probably couldn't see it all in one playthrough (sort of like Witcher 2 but more complex). The mechanics and game design can be a little dodgy at first, but I adjusted to them rather well, and you wind up with plenty of skills and gadgets that you'd be wise to make use of. Definitely recommend the field agent build (pistols & stealth, but carry an assault rifle for when things get hairy), as that gave me a playstyle very similar to mine in Deus Ex: HR (without the ability to quicksave/load wherever you want...friggin' console game ports) where I could try and be sneaky but still be able to unleash hell if that went wrong. Failing that, I probably could've switched the game to Easy without any repurcussions. Might replay it sometime choosing all the Y node (aggressive) options and watch the sparks fly. I was fairly happy with my ending. Just staunch refusal to cooperate, Sis rescued me in the med bay, I convinced Parker to turn (because I foiled all of his/Halbech's plans and discovered the kicker during each one), killed Darcy, Marburg...disappeared? Arrested Westridge and punched out Leland. Rode off into the sunset with Scarlet. Think that's everything... I might replay it because I let Mina die, since the game seemed to suggest it was a choice between her or Scarlet at one point, when that may not have been the case. It just doesn't sit right on my conscience.
Eleven
Just beat The World Ends With You: Solo Remix. Fun game! I can't believe I put in 33 hours on an iPad game. I don't know how different it is from the DS game. They said the boss battles were reworked since there's only 1 screen. No one really gave me a challenge though, except for the final boss. Maybe I've just been grinding too much, or maybe the reworked boss battles are easier. I'm not really into video game soundtracks but I find myself liking this one very much. Waldorf and Statler
TWEWY is the best thing to come out of Squeenix, outside of western games, in ages imho. Why they never made a sequel to it I'll never know.
deanb
Just beat Far Cry 3, "save your friends" ending. Pretty fun game, mainly just got the collectibles left but given it is uPlay achievements I'm not too bothered with racking those up. Maybe something to do another day. Certainly started getting into a swing near the end with throwing the stones and doing takedowns, didn't really do that much at the start, mainly all bow n arrow for my stealth attacks. Main issue is all the damn menus. Crafting menus, loot menus, shop menus, relic menus, plant menus, and so on so forth.
toxicitizen
Felt like replaying Alan Wake and I beat it on Nightmare earlier today. Was only a handful of collectibles from having all the achievements, so I spent a few more hours doing that tonight. Somehow, not as satisfying when you don't get a platinum trophy out of it. :/ Anyway, guess I'll do the same thing for the DLC episodes next. deanb
Dishonored. The good ending, and I might give it a crack in the future for the high chaos ending, just to see what funkiness I can get up to if I care little for stealth. I'd say it seems a game where you can miss an awful lot, and as I'm someone who likes exploring nearly all crooks and crannies it does get to me a little, but at the end of the day it's an enjoyable game regardless. For a stealth game the music could have been handled better though.
Alex Heat
For a stealth game the music could have been handled better though. It's not just stealth games that have this issue if you ask me, but I am a guy who actually hates how generically Danny Elfman game music is nowadays.
