Mal
I started tonight and beaten Darkness II though I think I need to go through New Game + and fight the real last boss else it would be quite a crap ending... Overall though, it was a fun enough game. The controls were a bit funky and there is a chance to get stuck before the gremlin's movement is poorly mapped but it was enjoyable. Edit:I guess there is no fight? Edited June 14, 2013 by MaliciousH
Waldorf and Statler
there was a secret boss?
Mal
Its more of a last level now that I think about. John Woo-ing section in Hell.
toxicitizen
Was it secret? Like, at all? I could be forgetting something but if not, then you picked the asylum ending? That... was pretty clearly not real. The bit in Hell is the real ending.
Mal
No. I never said it was secret. I was hoping to fight Jenny. With New Game +, I was hoping that perhaps after getting back to that point, I can crawl out of Hell and fight Jenny. Fuck, he broke into Hell. But no, the dude is stuck in Hell (After looking it up). MetalCaveman
Neptunia mk2, loved it! \m/ \m/ Definitive improvement over the first one. Got the normal ending, I'll try to get all trophies for it, but first I got to focus on what's left of my backlog.
Mal
All I'm imagining now is a kawaii-desu moe moe MetalCaveman. Anyways... Mirror's Edge. So the Alt key made it so I can get pass the first level plus I have more motivation to figure stuff out. Overall it is a fine game. Not great though since the controls can be off at times. Also.. yes, I got pissed off at the snipers and the swarms of enemies, so I gunned them down. Pretty much proves what kind of trouble maker I could be if the government pull this shit and push me... with that said, hello NSA.
TheMightyEthan
If you're playing with a keyboard you really should use a controller instead. Controls work much better.
toxicitizen
After replaying Alan Wake on nightmare I obviously had to follow that with Alan Wake's American Nightmare... on nightmare. Anyway, enough with revisiting favorites for now. I really need to start scratching titles off my backlog.
Mister Jack
I beat The Last of Us. Amazing game with a satisfying ending.
Strangelove
Well, I just finished TLoU. Probably the best game in the last decade. Time to play it again.

toxicitizen
Ha, no. I didn't do both the same day. Made a post about beating AW a couple days before AN. I played AN in a single sitting but I spent like a week going through AW and getting all the achievements I was missing.
toxicitizen
Devil May Cry 4. Guess I was more than halfway through when I mentioned it in the currently playing thread cause I finished it like 20mins ago. Overall, I enjoyed it. Like I said, it feels really dated when compared to more recent games. But I was really into the series back in the day (Dante's Awakening is probably in my top 10 games ever), so I didn't mind. Dante's missions are the best part of the game but they feel oddly superfluous. Like they were originally going to make the game only about Nero and someone stepped in and made them give Dante a bigger role. As Dante, all you really do is go back through the same levels, only this time backwards, refight the same bosses that Nero didn't finish off and collect their weapons and just make it back to the beginning of the game for the final boss fight. What feels weird is that throughout the game Nero hasn't been collecting any new weapons but here you collect an entire game's worth of weapons in only about half a dozen missions. It basically all boils down to a fetch quest that feels like padding and fan service rather than a necessary part of the story. But hey, you get to play as Dante, so whatever! Now I really need to play the reboot. Edited June 18, 2013 by FLD
Faiblesse Des Sens
Playing as Dante is when I stopped. I didn't have that much fun as Nero so I wasn't about to go through the same boring areas again as Dante.
toxicitizen
Yeah, I see what you mean. I didn't mind Nero while I was playing as him but it was kinda weird. When I realized that I wasn't collecting any new weapons, I thought that kinda sucked. But the Devil Bringer arm was kind of really useful in combat so I figured that was the trade-off. And then when I switched to Dante I actually missed the Devil Bringer at first. But once I started playing with Dante's different fighting styles from DMC3 and got back into the old style of play, I started really having fun and realized just how boring playing as Nero actually was. Like I said, I enjoyed the game. But I can see why it killed the series and they felt the need to reboot.
TCP
The Last of Us. There's been so many great games this generation. Red Dead Redemption, Uncharted 2, Super Mario Galaxy, Fallout 3/NV, Mass Effect 2, Assassins Creed Brotherhood, I'd even put Bioshock Infinite in that list, but I think, and this is really fresh, I need some time to digest it, but I think The Last of Us might be my favourite. It's really good. I was expecting climbing, shootouts, and puzzles like Uncharted, but it wasn't like that at all. In my opinion, the perfect review scores are completely justified. I'll post more thoughts in the TLoU thread. But this game is awesome, everyone should play it.
Hot Heart
The Walking Dead. Really good stuff. Gripping, tense, harrowing, moving, shocking; it never lets up. I talk about 'pace' a lot when it comes to games/films/TV shows, and this does it really well. I really dug even the subtle little ways that your choices were recognised ("Manure!") even though it seems a lot of the major stuff has no impact BEYOND THAT ON YOUR SOUL. Wasn't too fond of the 'stranger' plot overall. Felt a bit too forced, when the game already had a knack for a more natural story progression. Also felt a bit let down by seeing how little certain choices actually mattered in the bigger picture, but that's meta-gaming anyway... Also, I was a little unsettled by the fact that, effectively, I still needed to help Clementine in the end. Not sure if that was a deliberate game choice or just a bad design decision... And I was hoping there would be a pay-off with how useless Ben (and I suppose Kenny, in my game) had been. Nope, just another gut punch/puncture p.s. do I really want to play The Last of Us next? Can my poor heart take it? Edited June 20, 2013 by Hot Heart
Vecha
Just beat Ni No Kuni. Just a bit over 70hrs. Beat all the sidequests right up to the end of the main quest. It was the most fun I've had with a Jrpg in a while. Hope to see a spirtual successor in the near future. Loved the whole "pokemon/familiar" thing.Story....eh....could have been better. A fuckton of a lot better.
toxicitizen
Shadow of the Colossus. I beat Ico when I first bought the HD collection but I couldn't get into SotC at the time, for some reason. I spent the first hour fighting with the controls and got kinda frustrated with it at first, but overall it's still as good as I remembered. A bit shorter, though. Only took me about 7h and there's a solid 30mins of that that was basically just me falling off the last fucking Colossus non-stop like a retard. MetalCaveman
StarCraft 2, last mission was really freaking hard, now it's time to start Heart of the Swarm. \m/ \m/
Faiblesse Des Sens
What difficulty did you play on? I remember on normal that wasn't one of the hardest parts.
MetalCaveman
Normal. I'm not good at managing armies/resources in this game, so I got swarmed a couple of times, almost lost everything, except the thing reached 100% before that happened. toxicitizen
Really? I thought most of Wings of Liberty was pretty easy but the last mission was a solid 30mins of "OH FUCK! OH FUCK! OH FUCK!!" Really couldn't let my guard down and I think some reloading had to be done. Edited June 28, 2013 by FLD
TheMightyEthan
It's been a long time since I played it, but I seem to remember the last level of WoL being somewhat frantic without actually being difficult.
