Faiblesse Des Sens
Decided to give it another playthrough after getting it in the Humble Origin Bundle. Honestly, I don't think the campaign is as bad as people made out. Hell, i got through it in 3 days. It's in the weekly bundle from the let's play guy and not the Humble Origin Bundle. toxicitizen
So, I only had the two hard difficulty related achievements left for Guacamalee! so I said fuck it and did my hard run right away while my skills are still fresh. I'd advise staying away from hard unless you want to start hating the game. Jesus christ, the fight against Jaguar Javier almost made me give up entirely. The final boss was a fucking joke by comparison. Edited August 19, 2013 by FLD

Faiblesse Des Sens
Okay let's take a step back here: So then after that Thursday Next quotes this post and then bigdanhero mentions the Humble Origin Bundle.

Mister Jack
So, I only had the two hard difficulty related achievements left for Guacamalee! so I said fuck it and did my hard run right away while my skills are still fresh. I'd advise staying away from hard unless you want to start hating the game. Jesus christ, the fight against Jaguar Javier almost made me give up entirely. The final boss was a fucking joke by comparison. I actually got through hard mode pretty quick on my second run. I thought the game just gets really easy after you play through it once but maybe my reflexes are just really good or something. Javier gave me hell the first time around but the second time on hard mode I made him my bitch.
Faiblesse Des Sens
more damning still: I don't even see a placeholder for where the image should be. There's nothing blocked w/ NoScript here and allowing content w/ Disconnect doesn't show anything, either.

Javier gave me hell the first time around but the second time on hard mode I made him my bitch. Could be. I don't know, it took me a couple of hour-long sessions before I managed to beat him. It actually made me dread the final boss but I beat that one fairly easily. There were something like four fights total that gave me some trouble, but nothing compared to Javier. X'Tabay was also a bit of a pain in the ass but only because, for some reason, I'd reach the halfway point and the scripted scene where you talk to her would trigger but the room would stay in the dimension with spikes, so my character would blindly run into them and kill himself. Happened three or four times, it was kind of aggravating. But yeah, even the third Caverna del Pollo trial and the two insane platforming orb levels I got through very quickly this time around. Hot Heart
So we're just going to ignore the fact that FDS also thought it took someone three days to play through Thomas Was Alone?
danielpholt
...anyway. Spent the last few hours playing through this. I'd heard some fantastic things about it, and for the most part, it didn't disappoint. I kind of wish it was longer (I really enjoyed the story), and I don't think the ending hit me with as much impact as the writers hoped (could well be down to me being a 25 year old male with 2 brothers), but it certainly is worth a play.

Hell, i don't have a sister or anyone who fits into that role, and Sam's story still got into my head to some degree. I was very nervous walking into the attic. Terrified of what i might find. TheMightyEthan
Yeah, from the very moment I first saw the attic with the red lights and the dark room sign I was convinced Sam went up there and killed herself. And that was one of the first things I saw, since I walked through the whole house before ever looking at any notes. *Edit* - Honestly, I think I cared more about Sam more than any character in any other game. Possible exception of Clem, but I don't think even she tops it. Edited August 20, 2013 by TheMightyEthan
Thursday Next
So we're just going to ignore the fact that FDS also thought it took someone three days to play through Thomas Was Alone? You can't even begin to fathom my confusion. At three hours to complete, three one hour sessions over three days is reasonable. 3 hours would be a fairly speedy run through as well. Routinely takes me 3 calendar days to play games like that.
TheMightyEthan
Really? Took me 3.1 hours to beat, and I didn't feel like I was being especially speedy. I also know some of that time was me pausing the game to go to the other room to talk to my wife or do some minor things for the house (empty a trash can or whatever). deanb
Yeah, how will we know he's beaten that game? Is it when all the zombies in the world are out-ran? Is it when the plants take over? How would we know if he get's a game over?
