Mr. GOH!
It's like they decided to lop off the end and make it DLC or a sequel. So jarring. Recruiting or hiring your own crew would be great! Since the game takes place over years, it could be something like the main character taking a young sailor udner his wing and training him to be a captain of his own some day. TheMightyEthan
Yeah, there was so much room for expansion of the hideout concept, the homestead was much better done.
toxicitizen
I guess I technically beat 999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors last night. I mean, I god a bad ending, got stabbed and died but it ended. Now I gotta do it again five more times for the other (I'm assuming bad) endings before I can get the true ending. Which might sound annoying but the story is actually really good and intriguing and on subsequent runs the game remembers which path/decisions you took so you can just fast-forward through the story bits you've already seen and don't actually have to remember which choices you've already made.. This game was actually one of the main reasons I considered getting a 3DS instead of a Vita. I had heard very good things about it while I still owned a DS but I just never got around to grabbing it. The sequel, Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward, is on Vita but this one isn't and from what I heard you kinda need to play it to get the most out of VLR. So anyway, I decided fuck it and grabbed a DS emulator and the rom for it.

Strictly, theres only one particular ending you need to see before getting the true good ending. It is worth seeing all the bad ones tho. toxicitizen
Oh, really? I read somewhere that the true ending only unlocks once you've seen all the other ones. I guess maybe that was about the sequel. Now I'm kinda tempted to look for a spoiler-free guide to make sure I don't "accidentally" luck into the true ending until I've seen all the other ones... FMW
I beat the new Zelda. It is crap. It is a cowardly regression from everything Zelda has ever tried to achieve beyond the common video game. I hope lapsed Zelda fans are fucking happy with this. Everything that could interfere with slashing bad dudes and spelunking through dungeons has been excised. Just the absolute barebones framework of what Zelda is as a formula. Did we really need another game that had nothing to recommend it beyond the caves and the bad guys? The game even LOOKS the most generic of any Zelda these past 10 years.
Mr. GOH!
Not surprising, FMW, given Nintendo's cynicism and utter creative bankruptcy these days.

VLR definitely requires all endings before getting the true ending. Though there's a debate as to whether or not they can be called 'endings' or not but that's a whole other discussion. As for 999, I may be wrong as a it's a certain 2 endings you need to see but certainly not all. I remember completing the game with the good ending on my third playthrough and missed two of the bad endings.
Hot Heart
Tennis In The Face Got this free from Amazon's appstore but would gladly have paid for it. Really fun little 'Angry Birds-esque' game with fun cartoony graphics and a silly story as well as some neat music, sound effects and animation. Really easy to grasp and fun to pick up for a few minutes here and there. Only has one level that I haven't fully completed.
FMW
Not surprising, FMW, given Nintendo's cynicism and utter creative bankruptcy these days. For what it's worth, this is the first Zelda game I feel this way about. At least the other games are trying to be something worth remembering. They don't always succeed, but the ambition is there. This game perfectly executes a mission of zero ambition.
Mal
Ico Despite the camera being a pain at times and Yorda's AI being dumb, I can look past those flaws (It is a 2001 game, 12-13 years ago). This is a solid game. It has simple mechanics where you can do some pretty cool stuff. The hand holding with Yorda, while crucial to the game (It helped Team Ico get around the AI limitations of the time), kind of made me attached to her. I felt bad trying to rush her along. Hell, I walked after the bridge opened since Yorda stumbled. Not as iconic as SotC but it holds up to the test of time. Good prequel (Storywise, it is a sequel) with simple but elegant gameplay. Kind of like SotC (You have a few moves but they come together so well). Also I lied when I said I won't be getting a PS4. Even if FFVX and MGSV get ported to the PC (Slim?), I will wait for the day that The Last Guardian comes out... whenever that is.
TheMightyEthan
Storywise they may not even be connected at all, that's all just assumption by fans. The horns could have just been a nod.
Mal
Uncharted 3. It was alright. I prefer Uncharted 2 since it felt way smoother. I found myself to kind of floaty in movement. For combat, overall there is an insane amount of getting attacked from 2 to 3 sides and on hard mode that meant I died a ton. I think I died more in this first run than in a majority of other games' first run. Part of the reason was I hit a checkpoint that I didn't even know I got. I for sure didn't break all those pillars to down that armor car and now you send me to an unknown spawn with unknown enemies positions that may have a RPG/grenade launcher or swarm my position. The "supernatural" enemy this time is also a pain in the ass mainly for their sprints. At least give me a blur of their full movement. Also the horse parts are also a pain because of aiming issues... gah. I should of played on normal. Maybe I would of enjoyed this a lot more. Good god. I'm disoriented from playing this POS. TheMightyEthan
Should have, would have. I found each game in that series to be less frustrating than the one before, with Uncharted 1 being easily the worst in that regard. I didn't play any of them on hard though, because even though it got better as the series went on I still felt like it had some pretty awful difficulty spikes in all three. I didn't like any of the supernatural enemies from any of the games.
Hot Heart
I definitely enjoyed 2 way more than 3, in pretty much every way (note: the team that made the second was working on The Last of Us while the third was being made). And for me, the third was full of bugs. Never was able to replay the horse level without something fucking up somewhere.
TheMightyEthan
I liked 2 better too overall, just I thought that each one was a little better than the one before re: difficulty spikes.
Mal
I think it comes down to me playing on hard mode while being very rusty with a controller (Though I still think its partially the game fault). I would have gotten through all the humps on normal. I feel the pacing and action was actually handled better in U3. It kept it interesting far more than U1 and U2. On normal, the pacing would of stayed intact. On hard, it was one choke point after another. I was not expecting to be stalled so many times. Part of the reason I was stalled so much is that in some choke points, you had to be careful where you moved to since you could spawn in more enemies and you'll simply be overwhelmed. So I adopted to staying in one spot which at times means I would have very little cover. A few times it also meant I got attacked from behind from spawning enemies. Also a few times I got checkpoints where I ran out of ammo completely or for the most useful guns so I either had to run up to melee an enemy or run to get ammo while hoping I don't get gunned down in 3 seconds. Eh, whatever. I beat the game in 2-4 sittings. If the gunplay was more enjoyable, I think I would have looked pass the difficulty like with Halo or something. Edit: Nazi Ethan, are you not entertained!? Edited December 14, 2013 by MaliciousH

staySICK
Uncharted 3 was full of bugs for me as well. Like during a chase sequence I ran from inside a building through an open window into... an empty, white abyss where I fell and fell until the death animation kicked in. Seriously, the outdoor environment failed to load. I didn't know that bit about the UC2 team working on TLoU and not UC3. Explains so much. Hot Heart
Totally. Plus, I'd have to disagree with MalH about 3 doing the pacing and action stuff better. Not that 3 was bad, but there's that whole ship bit that was a complete waste of time (and the running from water bit was p lame) and (at least) twice the story has to resort to conveniently plonking you in the right place for the next bit. TCP
I never saw any bugs in Uncharted 3, shooter of the generation. But seriously though... 1. Uncharted 2 2. Uncharted 3 3. Golden Abyss 4. Uncharted Uncharted 2 is tops for me but 3 is a close second.
TheMightyEthan
I'd probably agree with that ranking.
