Waldorf and Statler
Castlevania Lords of Shadows Mirrors of Fate for the 3DS. I really enjoyed the gameplay and the introduction of some of the other Castlevania protagonits in this storyline. Especially Simon and Trevor. TheMightyEthan
Bioshock 1. Â The ending was... abrupt.
TheMightyEthan
Question: Â Throughout Bioshock 1 it seems that society in Rapture has completely collapsed, there's nothing even remotely resembling civilization. Â Is it explained in Bioshock 2 how the fuck anyone survived down there for 10 years, and why it's not just a complete ghost town? Â It's not like a land-based post-apocalyptic wasteland where people could conceivably hunt/scavenge/whatever for the stuff they need to survive, Rapture by design requires a society to maintain it. Waldorf and Statler
I think we're supposed to suspend our disbelief a bit and assume that some 'sane' people still exist and miraculously they haven't ran out of food. Bioshock 2 just moves on to the next baddie and her lackies and explains the backstory of the Big Daddies/Rapture a bit more.
TheMightyEthan
I guess the oxygen production area in the first one was pretty much intact, so maybe that crazy cult group is defending/maintaining it, and I can accept that maybe I only saw the really fucked up districts in the first game, and that there are still some areas where people are living more or less normal lives. Waldorf and Statler
I think for the most part only a select few are managing to keep things running enough to survive. The rest are crazy. 99% of the people in Rapture are.
TCP
Count me down as finishing Bioshock Infinite. Oh man what an ending! Â
Waldorf and Statler
was that necessary to put in spoilers? lol
Saturnine Tenshi
Finished Dishonored's Knife of Dunwall. See thread for my spoilerish reaction.
TCP
I play by my own rules, WAS, just like DeWitt/Comstock. Edited April 21, 2013 by The Cowboy Poet
TheMightyEthan
Bioshock 2. Â I really liked it, but goddamn did that ending drag on. Â I was emotionally done with the game about an hour before I actually finished it.
CorgiShinobi
Well, I guess I could put the Jetstream Sam DLC here. Â As an immense fan of Rising, I could justify the $10 I spent (not to mention it was free credit). Thing is, it really should have stayed at $7 because, again, unless you're into collectibles, VR Missions, and difficulty, it's over pretty quickly. Sam is a cool character, and I mostly love the way he plays and can take on the more difficult enemies. There's really no stealth to the DLC, though at times you can sneak past a few enemies. Â Now I patiently await the LQ-84i, a.k.a. Blade Wolf, DLC because you know that stuff is going to be a definite game changer.
TheMightyEthan
Minerva's Den. Â I'm definitely in the "it's better than the main Bioshock 2 campaign" camp.
Alex Heat
Â I'd forgotten all about this until a couple weeks ago. Â Finally got around to finishing it after I remember what the hell to do. Â Tragedy and shoulder pauldrons in space.
Waldorf and Statler
is that a j-rpg? Or what?
Saturnine Tenshi
It's a space adventure type game. You journey from planet to planet, upgrade your ship and battle other ships in a sort of rock paper scissors style of combat.
TheMightyEthan
Bioshock Infintie. Â It was great, easily the best of the series IMO. Â Now to go read through all those spoilers in the Bioshock thread, and all those articles I've thought sounded interesting for the last month.
TheMightyEthan
Â Another really good one, though it ended rather abruptly. Â Apparently there's another piece of DLC coming out that will finish Daud's story.
Saturnine Tenshi
Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory. I wrote a review on it.
Mister Jack
Lollipop Chainsaw. It was just lying around. I'm not even totally sure who it belongs to.
Strangelove
Harley Quinn's Revenge was really disappointing. I expected something more...meaningful, but it was completely pointless.
Mister Jack
Dead Island (original). I bought it a while back and never finished it. I'm bored stiff without internet right now so I figured I'd work on the ol backlog. Â The whole prison section was tedious bullshit and the final boss fight was awful. They obviously didn't rebalance this game for single players. Â Oh well. Now I can delete it and free up some space on my ever shrinking hard drive. TheMightyEthan
Assassin's Creed 3: The Tyranny of King Washington. Â I really enjoyed it, though for whatever reason (whether it was execution or my mood, I don't know) I didn't feel compelled to do any of the side stuff this time, I just went straight from story mission to story mission. Â I think a big part of that was that doing the side stuff in this DLC didn't have any effect beyond restocking your supplies.
Mister Jack
Tomb Raider. Not only is this the first one in the series I could get into, but I'd say it's one of the best games of 2013 so far.
TheMightyEthan
Tomb Raider. Â Actually 100%'d it. Â Fantastic game, I actually liked it quite a bit better than Uncharted, what with it never devolving into wave after wave after wave of bullet sponges. Â There were a few times when it seemed like it might do that, but it was never more than 3 or so waves and there were only a handful of enemies that I would call bullet sponges through the whole game. Â I will say the whole "A Survivor is Born" thing right before the credits really destroyed the mood they'd built, making me actually laugh out loud.
