Any of you guys have rock guitars? I just want to catalog them so I can order my own, I have black, natural, and white but looking for the other colours. Also looking for pianos. I can let you catalog anything I have or craft things for you.

In fact, if you're not on my friends list, add me, SW-1806-3421-3131 we can become BEST FRIENDS and message in game. I'm always up for visiting other peoples islands or having guests on mine.

Are you longing for a specific villager but you can't seem to get them on your own and amiibo cards are ridiculously expensive online? Try amiibo coins, which are fanmade coins that work just as well as amiibo cards, only without the collectible card part of it. A lot of people still charge out the ass for popular character coins, but this lovely lady is creating coins on request at a flat rate no matter the character. I went ahead and ordered a couple. I expect them to work just fine because she has a ton of good feedback but when they eventually arrive I'll do a follow-up in case anyone is unsure.

I'm assuming they're NFC tags with nice artwork on.

In theory you can make your own. I have some NFC tags from a time I was dabbling with Tasker (so tag by the door to tap in and out of home to change your phone settings like audio on, wifi on, etc), unfortunately mine are in a box squirrelled away for the move. They're dead cheap though (and reusable, and also do the Tasker related stuff)

I made over 2.5m on the turnip market last week after finding a friend on Discord who had T@T buying at close to 600 bells per 'nip. I used most of that money to pay off the loan on my third room, and the rest was used to move a few things around on the island, send Danielle some for her island (she bought a Switch Lite for A/C) and then, you know.....buy more turnips.

The plan is this: Earn enough money on turnips that I don't have to log into the game every day (which is hard when my time is limited), and thus remove the stress that comes from a game like this. Once my house is paid for I feel like I can relax and enjoy slowly building my little island paradise.

That's why we have each other, dahling. ?

I personally have a set area for placing my turnips so I'm capped at about 1.8 million bells worth of turnips. A bad week won't completely wipe me out, besides, I paid off all my loans. It's just all money to move things around and for buying stuff (some of the twins stuff after the upgrade cost a pretty penny).

My current routine is pretty lax now. I do what I want to do, fossils or whatever else be damned then stop. Most pressing thing now is to check turnip prices in the morning and in the afternoon. After selling, it's all really a whole lot of nothing. Lots of shopping and lots of planning. This island is going to be perfect!

The clock rolled over while I was waiting in line to sell at a lucrative island. I didn't realize turnips always spoiled on Sunday no matter what. I bought them from a time traveler and assumed they'd be good for seven days on my non-time traveling Switch but that is not the case at all. Thankfully I have since managed to bounce back by using the last of my bells to go back in on turnips AFTER Sunday and sell them for a 3 million bell profit on another island, but boy did that get hairy for a while. If that last Hail Mary maneuver hadn't panned out I would have been completely fucked. I felt like the Wolf of Wall Street, checking turnip exchanges online and making a mad dash for the best islands before they filled up. Seriously, those queues can go from 0 to 50 in just the few seconds it takes to click on the button to join. Turnips be crazy.

I know when you place things that open (fridges, wardrobes etc.) out on the island they give you access to your clothes when you interact with them. Is there anything that acts the same with your general storage so you don't have to go back to your house to get stored crafting material, general items etc.? It's hard to google

I think we've got a combined 1000+ hours in Animal Crossing in my house, but even now, over a year into this thing I think Danielle has finally lost interest in running her little island community. It's a real shame because I know for a fact that she wants to keep going back to that well, unfortunately Nintendo just isn't providing the updates the game needs to sustain itself long term.

Real shame because if they supported this thing in the same way they supported something like Smash they'd have a game that people would happily play (and spend money on) going forward for years.

I thought they were providing regular free updates? Or have they hit that point where they're just recycling stuff from last year?

There's not been a significant content drop for a year now, and the updates they are doing tweak along the edges rather than bring anything substantial to the game.

I don't think people want radically new ideas or anything...just new shit to unlock and use around the island.

It's not helped by the fact that many of the series core features were stripped away for New Horizons. It all feels a bit bare bones.

The updates were mostly just the events that were included with the previous games so nothing to get excited about. I stopped playing a while ago - I've not even completed the the catalogue, which is a first for me. I'm really disappointed with it, Nintendo haven't tried to move the game on at all since the gamecube. Basic things like still not having a separate pocket for tools, only being able to access item storage in your house making crafting and decorating outside a nightmare, having to have bells in your pocket to buy shop items and pay loans etc. instead of having a debit card (there's an ATM and smart phone so it would make sense in game).  typing letters and terraforming is such an exercise in frustration. I just feels like none of the testing was done by people who actually play the game so there's none of the joy and relaxation you want to experience when playing it.
