You people are moving through this game so quickly!  You've gotta take your time, people.  This is a game to savor, not devour.  There's a reason the full array of town functions doesn't even open until you're about two weeks in.  They're trying to teach you to just play a bit each day, teasing you onward with just one more exciting thing that's gonna happen tomorrow.  At the rate of progress I'm reading about here, you'll have little reason to still be playing the game come holiday events.

As to the Dream store thing I'm getting kind of pissed because apparently after 7 days of being mayor you should have been able to find Isabelle sleeping but I never did and that seems to be a requirement to bulld that. Now I'm not sure if I'll be able to do because I have the Night Owl town rule.

I've got the Early Bird rule going, so i'm not sure how well this will translate; but i found Isabelle asleep at her desk when i walked in 'to work' this morning. It was probably about half 7 (7:30) at the time. So if its a pure time thing, i'd imagine it's still possible for you with the Night Own rule in place.

From reading online it appears that it needs to be 7 days minimum. I believe today should be my 7th day. If not today tomorrow. Hopefully by this weekend. What I'm really waiting for is for the hair salon to open, but for that I gotta spend a lot on the shoe store, and for the shoe store I gotta spend a lot on the clothing store. But ever since I designed my character two suits and wear reading glasses, i've never found the need to buy much clothing.

Hooray!  Today my town permit came in and I began my first public works project.  Resetti center it shall be.  I didn't have an option for Brewster's cafe... I hope I stumble across the trigger for that by the time I've wrapped the Resetti center up.  My public works priorities remain unchanged.  I also got access to the tropical island today!  Haven't been yet, but I hope to get an influx of new bugs and fish for Blathers.  Will probably need to visit once in the day and once in the evening to try and track down different specimens.

Oh yeah, and Crazy Redd showed up today!  I understand that the odds of getting a non forged piece of art from him are kind of a crap shoot, but right now I have zero art so I gambled on it anyway.  Today was also the first day that gyroids started coming out of the earth.  So today was a good day.  A busy day.

I reckon I'm ready to multiplayer this joint now.  I've got a pretty great town flag that I'm proud of.  I would also like to go and steal WaS' custom suit he designed and was bragging about.  None of my attempts at clothing design have gone well so far.

I understand it's possible to share a lot of the design stuff via QR code.  Do you guys know how to do that?

No idea about custom designs via QR code but I definitely did take the custom design of the Daft Punk/KK Slider the guy had in that video I posted since he had a link.

But either ways you won't be able to use the QR codes until the shy Abel sister starts talking to you. One of those days she'll eventually bring one out and I think that's when you pretty much stop getting new conversations with her.

And I'm not saying my suits are the best I just put a lot of effort into them. The only suit I've seen in the game is a white dress shirt with a blue tie and that clip on tie holder which added a bit more detail. But one could easily design a little grey rectangle I just didn't add it.

I'm already reaching the point I'm getting kind of burned out since it's more of a chore to go buy stuff at stores to help them expand. Also not to mention I never get the guy who sells paintings so I'm gonna have to see what the supposed trick for the resetti center is.

Good thing I still have Luigi's Mansion, new super mario bros 2 and Zelda to play. I could always start replaying Fire Emblem as well.

Okay guys, we've got problems.  My city has problems.  Big problems.  All the grass is getting worn away.  My perfect town is being marred by ugly brown patches.  I know that running is generally not encouraged in these games because of turf damage, but somehow I've managed to do such damage by walking alone!  How do I avoid doing this damage, and how do I heal the harm I've already done?

I'm kind of afraid to play beyond my minimum 1 hour a day of checking fossils/weeding/watering flowers/searching for the money rock/talking to Mable/buying a fortune cookie/planting my two new flowers for the day/buying something from nook/sending unwanted clothes and furniture away as gifts in letters/doing whatever errands my animal neighbors assign.

That occupies about an hour in my mornings every morning.  It's the best hour of my morning.

All I see on the wiki:

Animal Crossing: New Leaf

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, it is reported that grass deterioration not only happens more slowly, but the damaged grass regrows faster. Also, when a Public Works Project has been completed and built, the grass under it will deteriorate instantly.

Fertilizer will not help restore grass. However, flowers can aid the process of grass regrowth. Rain and snow will also help grass slowly regrow.

Contrary to popular rumors, placing patterns over grass will not prevent grass deterioration.

You should look into getting paths - they can look great but are a lot of work so I haven't taken the plunge get - it would probably mean a lot of hacking down of trees too.

Do a search on tumblr as there are a lot of QR codes for path designs and ideas for layouts.

Here's a about tom nook from the producer and director it basically says he's not actually greedy, and to be honest they make a good point. There's an interesting bit at the end saying tanukis are known for tricking people in Japanese folk lore by turning leaves into money which is why the furniture turns into leaves to carry around.

I'm not certain Animal Crossing can take externally generated QR codes.  I think it can only take images generated from other Animal Crossings.  So no imports of objectionable internet images in Nintendo's safe Animal Crossing bubble.  Pubescent boys will need to draw their own.

No there's outside QR codes as well. Somebody made a Reggie themed house, and I have the Daft Punk/KK Slider poster in my house I downloaded online via a guy on youtube. To be fair he may have used an app to make it Animal Crossing compatible as the QR code was specified for that.

Crazy Redd visited my town today. First time he came I didn't know that there are differences between the fake and the real paintings/statues so I just assumed it was based on luck. But apparently New Leaf actually does allow you to spot differences. All the paintings he had were fake and I thought the statue, from what I read at first, would be too but reading more I'm pretty sure the statue was real. I mean how douchey would it be if everything he brought over was fake.
