TheForgetfulBrain
I freaking love this song. Elbow is such a hit or miss band - they have some tracks I can't listen to, but the songs that hit, hit heard. I still think Red has one of the prettiest choruses out there. The song below is from the solo work of the singer of Veto, and excellent Danish (I believe) band. His solo songs are very stripped down and deceptively simple, but some of them are downright haunting, imo. http://vimeo.com/11051629

Thursday Next
Sort of on topic. As I am currently listening to their song so that I could link it here... I can't stand Plan B. I don't particularly dislike their music, but I absolutely detest the lead singer. For the longest time I had no idea why, then I realised that I'd seen him before, Ben Drew was the viscous little bastard in Harry Brown. Even though I know he's not actually that character in real life, I just can't get over it.

SomTervo
The Beatles. Not the old pop stuff that everyone seems to know and love, that I feel is very overrated. "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" and the like I'm talking about the shit that changed popular music forever, their latter less famous albums. God it's good. Fun, too. It's not like arty-revolutionary shit that's interesting but boring; the Beatles stuff is all fun as well as interesting and intelligent. Amazing. Been listening to it straight for about 4 months now and I see no end in sight. (This one is a bit slow at first, but it's through composed so it moves through several different, exciting bits later one)

King Jimmeh
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAY_LwYLIh0 Heard of them a couple of days ago, and then downloaded their albums, and have been slowly working through them. Pretty enjoyable stuff, and good for background sound.
Hot Heart
their latter less famous albums. Huh? I don't think they have 'less famous' albums. The White Album was just seen as a bit overindulgent. I think my favourite is actually Abbey Road. Although, yeah, as a kid I always thought they were just the 'fab four' sort of setup they first appeared to be. I guess because it's the singles which were quite prominent. Hot Heart
Not really a fan of them (or at least, the little I've heard), but this song reminds me of Pixies. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UM422J8_GOc&ob=av2el
BrainHurtBoy...2
Pixies and Bob Dylan are my favorite bands. Anyway, this:

True: I mostly meant that everybody I know who says they dislike the Beatles have only ever listened to their older stuff written while they were still touring. Their 'stationary' stuff, basically Revolver onwards, is best. (Damn, that's one hell of an album. Totes listening to it on the way to class, now.) Ever since I was a kid Abbey Road was the only one I knew so it was my favourite. Now, I just don't know. I've over-listened to Sgt Peppers, though I think it's one of their best achievements, Revolver still grabs my attention throughout, and the White Album is so goddamn ambitious and massive, but still quality and revolutionary. It's hard to pick one. Just now I'm discovering the simple poetry of the Magical Mystery Tour =D 'Hello Goodbye' through to the end with 'All You Need Is Love' is just incredible to behold. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMfkVGCU_BA Damn straight! The song that managed to anachronistically create punk, and to a lesser extent metal, before the genres even existed! EDIT: ON-TOPIC: As the video description says: "The best band in the world at the best festival in the world". I've seen them twice live now, and both times have been life changing.
