staySICK
OH WOW THANK YOU. I forgot I liked The Get Up Kids back when I was 14-15ish; didn't know they were still around. Gonna have to get out the old albums and give them another go. Mass Pike was a damn good song. And Ann Arbour. And Ten Minutes. I dig them. They broke up a few years ago, but recently got back together for the 10th anniversary of Something to Write Home About, put out a new ep, and now this new album. It's pretty good. I'm currently attempting to let ticketmaster rape me in exchange for tickets but their site is down. Eurgh. I've only seen them live once, wish I could have been at their "last" show when they announced they were calling it quits. Totes excited at the prospect of seeing them again. I hope they play this song, it was amazing live.

FredEffinChopin
Wow, this thread put several smiles on my face. It's good to see the users represent such a diverse range of quality music. Otis Redding, Portishead, Talib Kweli, Sublime.... So many great songs in here. Anyway, in keeping with the thread title, I've been listening to this album today while plugging away for my Mass Effect 2 platinum.

SomTervo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uf5gGwGVaTk Okay this just shuffled on into my current playlist. I've not heard this for ages. I think I'm gonna stick it on repeat, pretty good song. I've heard this before and said the exact thing to my girlfriend, but doesn't it sound a lot like this to you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbJabs1FP2E Mostly just the backing music, the vocal melody isn't too similar- but the melody in that Ocean Colour Scene song is ridiculously Beatlesey as it is. I'm sure there's another Beatles song that's even more similar but I can't find it. Every time I hear the song you posted I think it's the Beatles, then realise it's like a knock-off ('bootleg'?) Beatles song. It doesn't quite have their flair. Still, I do like Ocean Colour Scene.
