Faiblesse Des Sens
The latest Laura album: http://lauraisnotaband.bandcamp.com/ Well worth the (Australian) money.
quiddity
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8oLJXUVDhk Love this song. Highly recommend the anime too even though the ending is kinda meh (original ending, manga is still continuing)
Luftwaffles
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDsxpf5FN50 White dude soul revival. Only got into his music because he came to where I live (nobody comes to where I live), but it's actually really good.

ChiltonGaines
Have you seen the video of Doncamatic they did for that BBC Radio session, Duke?! It was great! I just watched both of those videos you posted yesterday. You're awesome. Edited October 17, 2011 by ChiltonGaines

Hot Heart
Great video. And gotta love David Byrne's voice. As an added bonus, it is the version without Shitty Rascal.

Hot Heart
Also: yesssss @ Hot Heart. Yessss as in you like the video or the song, or both? Love this. Makes me think of a alt-rocked up Cream song. Which it sort of is in a way. Killer riff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGp97OVybUM And for all intents and purposes, this is Queens of the Stone Age. You're not fooling anyone, guys.
Mal
I think I'm scaring my roommates with listening to Blind Guardian... a Chinese guy and metal. Odd combo. Edited October 20, 2011 by MaliciousH
FredEffinChopin
Dam, I haven't listened to this album in years! I'm sure if I had my portable CD player from back when this came out, I'd be able to spot the imprint of the CD art on the inside of the lid.Aaaand now I just discovered that they finally came out with a Blackout 2 in 2009.... So excuse me.

fuchikoma
This thread's getting awesome lately... Let's see if I can keep it going or break the combo! Edited November 5, 2011 by fuchikoma
Johnny
@MasterDex: I honestly don't find Opeth's singer to be anything special. In comparison, Maynard has one of the most immediately recognizable and unique voices in the music industry.

fuchikoma
Whenever a discussion gets into the "best" artist, there's no consensus... For good male vocalists, I don't notice many, but I'd say springs to mind. I'd recognize him right away. For uniqueness though, I have to give it to from MSI.'course that's just the American music industry. If we opened it up globally I'd have to consider guys like Kiyoshi Hikawa... MasterDex
Can't believe these guys never got 'bigger' OMG! Wilt! They're from my hometown! I used to listen to them jamming in a garage the whole time. I'd be walking to the shop and on my way back I'd stop and sit on the wall in front of the garage just listening to them play! Man, I totally forgot about them. Thanks for the good memory! Keeping with the music of Kilkenny, here's some other tunes: Never really liked them myself but they got popular locally. Reko are new enough but they've done well enough for themselves in the short amount of time they've been together. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrM1J5a0spY Slave Zero have gained quite a few fans throughout Europe but as far as I know, they haven't been signed yet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dLA88jgwV4&feature=related And finally, The Kilkennys playing traditional Irish music to make up for the noise of Slave Zero.
