Bjork is amazing. Of course it's cool we link to songs on youtube here as she has some great videos for her singles. I have volumen, which is the music videos for her first three albums and I never get tired of watching it.

I also finally bought Biophillia recently as I found it really hard to find the album with the bonus tracks. I haven't had a chance to sit down and listen to it properly yet though, and I think with Bjork probably more than any other artist her albums benefit from being listened to as a whole. They're definitely more than just a bunch of singles bunched together.

Since I was too busy listening to Propagandhi and Bad Religion in my JHS/HS years, there were a lot of real solid artists that didn't get the attention they properly deserved for years. I think I only really gave Bjork a first legitimate listen somewhere around 3 years ago. While modern music distribution and storage has seen to it that much of my intake of new music is sporadic, I made sure to get on Bjork on an album-to-album basis from the start, as she seemed like the kind of artist worth getting-to-know that way. The thing about that is I kinda stopped after a certain point and haven't continued haha. Debut, Post (easily my favorite start-to-end of them so far), and Homogenic were the ones I mostly became acquainted with and would throw on deliberately, and the rest I would experience in pieces through shuffle, with the intent of dedicated listens once I felt well acquainted enough w/ the first few albums. A few tunes caught my ear in my shuffles here and there that made me throw on Vespertine some eventually (Heirloom was the biggest factor there, and eventually Hidden Place when I heard it), but my experience with that album is somewhat disjointed, as is my experience w/ Selma Songs. I'm pretty sure I left out whole albums too, when I first obtained her stuff, as it was just too much for me to even try to tackle visually, let alone aurally haha.

Anyway yeah, she's one of a kind. I'm definitely glad to have gotten into her work, and really should finish hearing it all.

New Muse song for the Olympics. Not sure how I feel about it...

First couple minutes seem like standard Olympic fare, with plenty of grand strings, etc. The rest seems like good ol' bland Muse at it again. Their conspiracy dystopian lyric schtick got old after Knights of Cydonia to me.

Still would sort of love to see them live, though. Knights of Cydonia, Time is Running Out, and Hysteria used to be some of my favorite songs.

...because it was recorded with modern technology and produced well?

Not really my opinion, that's not exactly the crispest production but that could just be youtube.

Just sounds crisper than the one on my computer. There is more emphasis on the vocal than the general feeling of the song*. The instruments are also better segregated. I'm really glad they did this last year oppose to to five years from now or something. Singing with such power will get harder with age.

*A good example would be at around 6:10 of the song.

Now for something different:

Remastered? Vinyl rip with a different mastering? I didn't see anything on Wikipedia that mentioned either, though wikipedia is pretty bad for that unless it's a major remaster.
