Faiblesse Des Sens
What Bioware third person shooter requires that? Generally curious.
Waldorf and Statler
,,,,,, Mass Effect? Are you just trying to start a discussion out of anything today or what? Edited May 14, 2013 by Waldorf And Statler
toxicitizen
I was also curious because you said "tactical" so I assumed you weren't talking about Mass Effect.
Faiblesse Des Sens
...okay, I haven't played ME3 yet, but I don't remember any tactics/strategy or thinking in ME1 and 2.
deanb
I can vaguely grasp what he's getting at, mainly the squad-based powers stuff. As opposed to say...shoot shit like most other shooters such as COD n the like.
Faiblesse Des Sens
I guess but ME isn't exactly the best example of that. You can blaze through those games on a hard difficulty without much thought to strategy.
Waldorf and Statler
Oh if that was the issue then yeah, when I said tactical I meant "freeze time" and "issue orders" to squad members, maybe have them do/focus on different things. Similar to XCOM in a TPS fashion. Dean got the basic idea.
deanb
Looks kind of like a real time third person version of UE I guess.
toxicitizen
Yikes. Destructoid jumped the gun and accidentally posted their 4.5 review this morning but it was Sterling so I took it with a grain of salt since I rarely agree with his harsher reviews. But now that the embargo's been lifted and reviews are coming out everywhere, it's not looking great. Scores seem to go from shit to average. Sounds like it's a meh third-person shooter with a shitty story, at best. Doesn't sound like the ties with XCOM make that much sense, either. I was worried that would be the case. I still want to play it but I'll wait until it's cheap as fuck. Too bad, I really wanted this to kick ass.
deanb
Given they did a mostly complete re-build on the game midway through development it doesn't surprise me too much. Bit of a shame they tried to rework the game to ft the XCOM branding, instead of keeping the old game and ideas and changing the game name. But thus is the big publishers affinity to hold on tightly to IPs.
