Mr. GOH!
The only part of your argument that I dispute is whether Facebook paid Disney. I still think it didn't, but I'm not interested in arguing about it. Rather talk about Star Wars. Have they released a class name for the new Star Destroyers? And what are they calling that black shuttle-looking ship in the first image?
deanb
http://i.imgur.com/7Q2eZes.gifv I remember this scene playing out differently. Vader: Jesus, how many pistols does this guy have? The black thing I believe is an updated version of the imperial shuttle. No class name that I know of. deanb
https://shop.royalmail.com/issue-by-issue/star-wars/icat/starwars Been looking over this throughout the day trying to figure which I'd like to pick up. Plenty of good ones in the £15-£16 range. Figure one of the Medal Cover ones would be nice, stamps and a limited edition Royal Mint coin/medal. Not sure if they ship out to the US mind (I imagine customs automatically throw anything from royal mail or royal mint in the sea).
TheFlyingGerbil
What's a medal cover as opposed to a medal
deanb
I don't know, it's just what Royal Mail is calling the sets that come with a medal/coin. I've a feeling it probably has the set of stamps, with a cover, with the medal inset or something.

TheRevanchist
It is going to be off the fucking hook! I have avoided shitloads of spoilers. However, I let myself see the trailer during the game tonight. I'm going to whatever midnight showing there is. I can already feel myself getting sick *cough* by that next morning for work. *sniffle*

Popular Post deanb
Am I the one that gets to post it? cool. Reverse hyperscape ftw. It would seem from the trailer while the rebels won and all, it wasn't an overwhelming victory if folks are having to ask if "it's true" (even though you see loads of celebrations near the end of Return of the Jedi) Oh there's also a new poster out btw:
TheMightyEthan
I thought the "it's true" part was just referring the Jedi, not the actual Rebellion.

Mr. GOH!
I know I'm playing into Disney's viral marketing campaign, but here's John Boyega's reaction to the trailer. I'd have a similar reaction to seeing myself wield a lightsaber, I think.

deanb
I'd say the response is one that's expected from anyone that would get to play a Jedi. I can't find the video but I know Ewan McGregor was making the sound effects on set and getting told off.
deanb
This popped up on my recommended watch list. Good debate on some of the positive changes. It's something I've been thinking of of late. I've never seen the theatre version and watching the video posted above it's made it easier to see all the little changes. I had the '97 VHS as my first viewing. A lot of changes get a lot of hate, and I think just down to the "people hate change" but there's a fair chunk of them that make a crap ton of sense from both a directorial and an in-universe sense. TheMightyEthan
Jar Jar is actually the true leader behind Palpatine. It's actually pretty convincing, though I think the idea that Disney will bring it back in the new movies is unlikely in the extreme.
madbassman39
I like that story and think its very convincing. I also think Lucas proved through the way he handled the prequels, and episode 1 in particular, that he would never have actually have been so clever as to only slightly imply in the first movie. Lucas was a bit on the nose with everything in the prequels, he had no idea what subtlety was. It would have been one hell of a reveal and a great twist for the prequels.
TheMightyEthan
The thing I found most convincing that it might have been on purpose was the jump down thing when they were ambushing the droids. At first I thought it was just bad editing, until I noticed that you can watch one of the droid's heads track his movement, which shows it was intentional (I actually noticed that before I read the part where the guy mentions it). Now, all that really proves is that somebody on the editing team noticed the weirdness of his physical location and acknowledged it, doesn't actually prove anything about the plot, but it is a fun theory. Cause yeah, the subtlety was not strong with Lucas in that film.
Mr. GOH!
Edit: How did I miss Deanb's post? My mistake. Edited November 6, 2015 by Mr. GOH!
Mal
I'm working my way through The Clone Wars. I like it but the broken up chronology is a bit annoying. Then of course there are the Jar Jar episodes. I would do the suggested watch order but watching through Netflix makes that a tad bit messy to do.
