Star Wars

The only part of your argument that I dispute is whether Facebook paid Disney. I still think it didn't, but I'm not interested in arguing about it. Rather talk about Star Wars.

Have they released a class name for the new Star Destroyers? And what are they calling that black shuttle-looking ship in the first image?

Been looking over this throughout the day trying to figure which I'd like to pick up. Plenty of good ones in the £15-£16 range. Figure one of the Medal Cover ones would be nice, stamps and a limited edition Royal Mint coin/medal.

Not sure if they ship out to the US mind (I imagine customs automatically throw anything from royal mail or royal mint in the sea).

This popped up on my recommended watch list. Good debate on some of the positive changes. It's something I've been thinking of of late. I've never seen the theatre version and watching the video posted above it's made it easier to see all the little changes. I had the '97 VHS as my first viewing. A lot of changes get a lot of hate, and I think just down to the "people hate change" but there's a fair chunk of them that make a crap ton of sense from both a directorial and an in-universe sense.

I like that story and think its very convincing. I also think Lucas proved through the way he handled the prequels, and episode 1 in particular, that he would never have actually have been so clever as to only slightly imply in the first movie. Lucas was a bit on the nose with everything in the prequels, he had no idea what subtlety was.

It would have been one hell of a reveal and a great twist for the prequels.

The thing I found most convincing that it might have been on purpose was the jump down thing when they were ambushing the droids.  At first I thought it was just bad editing, until I noticed that you can watch one of the droid's heads track his movement, which shows it was intentional (I actually noticed that before I read the part where the guy mentions it).

Now, all that really proves is that somebody on the editing team noticed the weirdness of his physical location and acknowledged it, doesn't actually prove anything about the plot, but it is a fun theory.  Cause yeah, the subtlety was not strong with Lucas in that film.
