TCP Posted January 5, 2016 Report Share Posted January 5, 2016 (edited) I recognized Gleeson (who seems to be popping up in lots of random stuff these days, also saw his brother in some movie, I guess they're Mad Eye Moody's kids??) but didn't realize that was Oscar Isaac. The best pre-Star Wars Oscar Isaac film is Inside Llewyn Davis, which people have pointed out, has him going around with an orange and white cat, and now in Star Wars he has an orange and white droid. madbassman39 Posted January 6, 2016 Report Share Posted January 6, 2016 I've been watching Clone Wars recently, it took me a long time to be ok with the bad dialogue and silly character movement when they interact with others. Once I got over my issues with the show I started to really like it and even more so understand what Lucas' vision was for the prequels, and its really fun to see how the Jedi get pulled from being peaceful monks into weapons for Palpatine. I have really enjoyed the show so far. TFA got me back into watching Star Wars and now I can't stop. I feel I must have in the past (probably with brother, he's into star wars but watches anything other than the films) cos recognised some plot lines. Grievous is a bit naf at the start. Also true to nature of a prequel there's very little feeling of threat since you know Anakin n Obi-wan get out fine with no major scrapes n bruises. But good to see progression. (oh I'm only sorta midway on series 1, watching other stuff alongside) In other Star Wars news someone spotted this in Ep 3. https://gfycat.com/EthicalCapitalAmmonite Apparently it's been known for a while tgat Lucas fecked about with editing to pull together scenes. Kinda shit directing if you never took the correct shot in the first place. Pacing could have been better, maybe? I forgot how to do spoiler tags...so let me try Reveal hidden contents spoilerly stuff Damn I'm an idiot. OK...figure it out. Reveal hidden contents some are saying the reason she was so fast in learning is because she's obi wan's daughter...supposedly she hinted at her secret during an interview and said her isolation is a big clue. So either luke or kenobi. Still....wish there was more buildup\reason to her force skills. Like...I dunno. Being taught shown? Unless holding the lightsaber transfered those skills. I know...nit pick. And I'm sure someone out in the world would call me a sexist for complaining. But besides my complaint...I love Rey. I hope Fin becomes more than a love interest. Would love to see them both grow as jedi together. Another theory is fin will double cross everyone as he's a sleeper agent and unaware he'll snap. Not a fan of that theory...unless executing well, as of now it makes little sense as Phasma said he was a good little storm trooper. Another nitpick is solo's appearance. And the whole scene in the hangar. But overall I loved it...and I'm a critical ass. Soooooooo much better than the prequels. And I'm pumped for episode 8. And GLAD that it's being written and directed by someone new. Not that JJ was bad, but(and I could be wrong) weren't the original trilogies written\directed by different people each movie? Either way relieved it was great, and while it wasn't better than the og trilogy in my heart(nostalgia) I'm looking forward to see where star wars go. Palpatine destroyed everything the Jedi stood for, and in the end only a few Jedi continued to follow the teachings of the Jedi Mastery. The only two that we are aware of are Obi Wan and Yoda. Everyone else either was killed or no longer continued their practice.If Obi Wan has a grand daughter, that means in the 19 years of his exile, trying to train Luke and dealing with Owen pulling him away, he lost faith. He momentarily believed that all hope was gone, so he broke his oath to the Jedi and had a relationship with someone.I think thats a pretty powerful idea given the fact that he was one of the few to really hold on to his faith and teaching through out the Clone Wars, the fall of the Republic, and the fall of his best friend. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

She may also just have been a padawan or Force-sensitive young child. I could see him sparing his little cousin. I also like the Obi-Wan connection. It's kinda odd because some characters look like they could be straight out of Clone Wars, and other times you have these horse-faced character models who seem to have jelly in place of muscles. It's a proper continuation/sequel to Clone Wars if you ask me and there are some interesting character moments through and through. You'll have to watch it after Clone Wars because truly this series has some great action sequences. Ezra kinda becomes moody, but then again he's a teenager and he's nowhere near the levels of prequel movie(s) Anakin Skywalker. Some of the backgrounds are pretty gorgeous. As for the story, it's fun and a bit space piratey since they're rebels and this is Star Wars. Then you have Vader and all the dark side goodness. You really notice how much weaker the art style is in that trailer when Yoda appears. Yoda looks great in The Clone Wars.... not so much in Rebels. But I can learn to overlook that.
